Nice read!. I couldn’t help but notice that this book seemed to be exactly like a movie that I love called “Hope Floats.” There were a whole lot of similarities. Woman gets cheated on by husband and it’s on national tv. Woman moves back to her hometown with her daughter. Dad is trying to build a new life and isn’t involved with daughter. Past love is there...etc etc. I do really love the story but found it a little slow moving and it wasn’t one that I couldn’t put down. Overall definitely worth reading.

What a great story!. What an amazing story! I’m a sucker for second chance love stories and this one is great. The first meeting of Cam and Evan is classic! I can just see the faces of both when they see each other after all the years. Cam has a typical teenager named Morgan. She is just trying to find her way in her life that has been turned upside down. Thankfully Evan is looking out for her. It’s such a great book and cannot wait to see what else Elena has in store for us with her great series set in towns I want to live in!!

Immature. I thought these characters were over the age of 15? The all act younger than the teens in this book.

Moving. When We Left is the first book in a new series by Ms. Aitken. This book truly moved me. What happens when your forced to leave the one person you love so much for the sake of changing things for the better. Now years later she’s back in Timber Creek. Both are adults. She with a child. Cam was not accepting to see Evan Anderson again. Her first love. He’s now Officer Anderson. What will happen now? Must read.

Fantastic. The characters were fantastic and the story was interesting and beautiful. Emotional divorce, second chances and hurt feelings are part of this story. Beautiful and sadly realistic.

Sweet read. A sweet story. It is very much like the Harlequin Romance novels. There are parts I found heart warming but there is the drama to balance the story. This is an easy read and is perfect for a vacation read.

Amazing!. I have read quite a few books by Elena Aitken and I must say that she absolutely brought out some of her best stuff with this book!! The story of Cam and Evan hooks and reels you in from Chapter 1. I eagerly await the rest of the books in the Timber Creek series!!

Good.  Good but drawn out

AMAZING start to the series!!. This is an amazing start to the Timber Creek series!!!!! Cam has returned home to Timber Creek after being publicly humiliated by her soon-to-be-ex-husband with her teenage daughter in tow. She's not expecting to be pulled over by her first love and town cop, Evan. There is so much left unresolved between them so Cam's return means they can finally get some answers about what happened 16 years ago. I loved everything about this book!! Cam is so strong and really showed it in how she dealt with her move, her daughter, and her exes. Their journey, both the past and present, was perfectly laid out and I was rooting for them from the second he pulled her over. I'm really want to patient for the other characters HEA but I don't know that I can be!! I can't wait for the next book in this series!

A fantastic second chance read. Cam Riley and Evan Anderson were high school sweethearts until he left without a word. When she returns to Timber Creek, after her marriage falls apart, she isn’t expecting Evan to be there still. She doesn’t return alone though. She has her 15 year old troubled daughter. I’m not going to give any spoilers, so please grab your copy and read this realistic story. You will fall in love with all the characters and want to read more about them. I can’t wait to read Christy and Mark’s story next.

A delightful story. A lovely story. Cam is reeling from going through divorce proceedings, after her marriage imploded on the television, for the world to see, her husband was a well-known anchorman on the local news channel. She fled from her home in Portland to Timber Creek, where she had spent a happy childhood, and still had friends. Her daughter Morgan was with her, but she could not cope with her father's apparent rejection of her, she had become morose and sullen, blaming her mother for everything. They had little money, her husband had almost cleared their bank account and Cam had little money of her own, as soon as they were settled in the small, scruffy apartment her friend Christy had found for them her first priority was to find a job. The first person they see in town is Evan, now a police officer, when she lived in Timber Creek he had been her boyfriend, and they have unresolved issues; Evan had left town right after their high school graduation ball, without leaving any message or reason for going. This story feels very real, the emotions are well-written, especially Morgan's, this is a living, breathing fifteen year-old we can all recognise! This will be a good series, Elena has lightly touched on the issues in the lives of Cam's three friends, Christy, Amber and Drew, all very different problems in their lives. Very well worth reading.

Wonderful new series!. A story about love and loss and a second chance. Enjoyed this story immensely. Lovely cast of characters that are likeable and relatable. Looking forward to the rest of the series.
