Fantastic and emotional - Beautiful
Ian and London’s story was so beautifully written. I laughed and ugly cried. It has all the feels. Ian is swoon worthy. Highly recommend
PollyPY - Obsessed
One night. That’s how long it took me to finish the book. The next day I was late for work, but its worth it.
Suzanne Golt - HEROINE DESERVES BETTER
I have read every book by Corrine Michaels and many by Melanie Harlow and am a big fan. I left all 5 star reviews for past books like We Own the Night, the Salvation Series, and the “Say” series. I am sad to say this book was very disappointing to me and, frankly, stressful to read.
I liked the idea of the storyline between two childhood friends, Ian Chase and London Parish, and purchased it, but unfortunately, Ian never really grew up. When he was a college freshman and she was a high school senior, he broke her heart and told himself it was for all the right reasons. This I can understand because he was young and just learning to navigate relationships. But to do it again when he is 35 is just ludicrous and cruel. He was selfish in my opinion, and had zero communication skills or ethics.
He knew he hurt her as he witnessed by her treatment of him since that day which was about 16 years ago in book time, yet it didn’t learn anything by it. Half of the book was not fun to read. It was them bickering back and forth, often in front of the three children whom he was raising after his sister’s passing.
He needed London’s help and she was right there by his side the entire time helping with the children and household chores. I really admired and respected London but felt she deserved much better. She was a beautiful person on the inside and out. She was a selfless, loving, witty, educated, and a smart businesswoman. Yet will all these qualities, she never called him out on why he hurt her the way he did when she was 17.
It was obvious there was a love/hate relationship going on, but I feel she gave it all and he gave nothing back, not even to respect her enough to be honest with her about the choices he made all these years later. Ian was a wealthy businessman and I feel although he made some accommodations and started to become more of a family man, it was a little too late. He had a long way to go to earn my respect and be worthy of the title of “hero” and this is what I would have needed to give this book any higher than 3 stars.
SfGiantsAreChamps - Love
I love both Corinne and Melanie books and so glad they made this book together. It’s heartbreaking and heartwarming all in one. They never disappoint.
RobinDBLA - Oh Ian!
Oh my goodness, Hold You Close is the best Book I have read in a while. Ian goes from me thinking JERK to me completely swooning over him. London is a smart, driven woman who loves and hates Ian all at the same time. Their story is one of laughs to fighting before they knew it. This is a must read book!
rq19982020 - LOVE LOVE LOVE
This book was so heart-wrenching and emotion-provoking. I swear I cried a couple times. It's absolutely worth the read. So take a few hours, days or weeks to sit down and read this book because I read it faster than I thought possible and I loved every minute of it. Get ready for some tears, out loud laughter, and love.
Sashaerr - Sweet story
I had a feeling I was in for a bit of a roller coaster ride with this book and boy was I right. Emotions ran really high and the verbal showdowns were intense throughout much of the story. The grief, the anger, the loss, it was all completely palpable.
17 years of anger and hurt is a lot to deal with. Both Ian and London have had their world turned completely upside down and now they are navigating through unexpected loss while trying to sort out old feelings and learn how to get along. There were plenty of moments that tug at the heartstrings. I found myself angry at one or both of the characters for their actions and simultaneously my heart was breaking for them with all of the sadness they were dealing with. There were some fantastic moments between Ian, London and the kids that truly made the book relatable to any parent.
I am really looking forward to any future co written books by the authors in the future.
Corinne Ellery - Hold You Close
Love, love, love this book! If I could give it more stars, I would. With two great authors, how could this book be anything less than fabulous! Ian. OMG!! Love him to pieces. London is fierce. And the kids? Real. Read this book - it is worth every penny!
Janiaco - Best of Both Worlds with Corinne Michaels and Melanie Harlow!!
Best of Both Worlds with Corinne Michaels and Melanie Harlow!!
Wow, Hold You Close by Corinne Michaels and Melanie Harlow makes you think about what would you do or sacrifice for the person you love.
We start out with Ian and London back when they were young. London and Sabrina became best friends when they were children. Sabrina being Ian's little sister. Ian and London fell in love but then you see how one decision can change the course of your future. Fast forward many years and Ian and London are like on opposite sides of a battle field. London's heart was completely broken and she simply puts up walls so there will be no chance of anyone getting close enough to hurt her again.
When the unexpected happens, Ian and London are thrown together again. Even through the pain and the anguish, you can see the love is still there deep down but the communication is not. This book shows you that in the end you can get your second chance at love.
Along with Ian and London were Sabrina's kids who brought so much to enjoying this book. At times, you wanted to smack Ian off the back of the head but he finally got himself together.
The co-write of Corinne and Melanie blended so well that I cannot wait for their next collaboration!! There was so many emotions with this story and it drew you in so wonderfully. I would read anything these two authors write. I loved this story.
AnnettePopa - My favorite co written book this year , hands down !!
I absolutely adored Ian and London’s story . The push and pull had me turning page after page . It was angsty , sexy and emotional. My heart felt so many emotions . Corinne and Melanie deliver one heck of a story that literally had me crying tears of happiness by the end . This is a must read !!!Their writing is perfection . I can wait for more books from them !!!
Lexilooloolex - Sizzle, simmer...swoon
Sizzle, simmer swoon
Authors Corinne Michaels and Melanie Harlow have written a seamless, flowing masterpiece. The story flows like a river...it takes unexpected turns, has some turbulent times, crashes over rocks, runs hot and cold,; but most of all glistens in the sunlight! I can't tell where one author's words begin and end or the others weave in and out. The transitions are undetectable and the story is delectable!
London had a crush on her best friend's older brother Ian. The three of them were friends. One night led to all of her wishes and dreams coming true and the next day ended in heartbreak. Was everything what it seemed? Did more than one heart get broken?
Almost twenty years later tragedy strikes and Ian and London have to put their hatred aside and step up to help three children. Can they move past their anger? I don't want to spoil the story for you. It is truly beautiful!
Congratulations to these two authors on a beautifully written second chance romance. It is seamless, intricately woven and a story that I will hold in my heart!
HollyMarie143x - Ian Chase for the Win!
Looking for an epically written co write? This would be it. This story is written so flawlessly you can’t tell who wrote what part.
The story line is a heart wrenching yet heart warming twist. It gets you all in your feelings and wanting more. The characters are so easy to love especially Ruby! She’s so adorable and hard to resist.
Ian chase while super frustrating, he’s so dang charming you’ll be falling fast for that man. He’s really the best and the banter between London and him will have you laughing endlessly.
London is a strong female lead which makes her easy to love and relate to. The two of them together are definitely a power couple and have you rooting for them. Through the ups and downs of their story they seem to just come out stronger and better.
This story will stick with me for a long time to come.
karensaur - All the feels
So this book was full of emotions, sadness, anger, happiness, frustration, passion, love. Ian and London have known each other forever and he comes off as the bad guy with no feelings, but that couldn’t be farther from the truth. I don’t want to give anything away but this book was awesome. I loved every part of this book.
Soonergrl1510 - Ian is so dreamy
Absolutely amazing book written by 2 of my favorite authors. Loved every single part of it. Don’t wait to buy this book. Ian and London have a love/hate relationship from the start. Ian is the playboy party boy that lives behind the crazy cat lady. Then they are forced into a situation that neither ever believed or wanted to be in. Choices are made and lives are forever changed. Absolutely loved the chemistry and the bantering between the two of them. Plus, the kids involved in the book, don’t get me started 🤣.
Amynoelle - Amazing Collaboration From My Two Favorites!
I adore both of these authors and when I found out they were writing a book together, I couldn’t wait to get my hands on it. This book did not disappoint and the writing was phenomenal. These two have a way of writing relatable characters that have flaws and that you can’t help but root for. The story of London and Ian is filled with heartbreak and missed opportunities. London is Ian’s sister’s best friend and he’s watched her grow up. They finally seem to be getting together and he makes a selfless move that devastated London. Years later they are still in each other’s orbit when tragedy strikes making them have to depend on each other.
This book was so good that I had to make myself put it down. It had all the things you love from both these writers -romance, comedy, angst. This book was amazing and I hope they will collaborate again!
Klowden - Such a great book!!
This was such a great book. Ian and London had such great chemistry even if they didn’t realize it at first.
This story had so many emotions and feels. I was feeling their pain, their happiness and their love for each other. Even when they were trying to fight it.
Corinne and Melanie did great with having the words flow so well.
I highly recommend this book, and that cover 😍!! Arc was provided for an honest review.
lisarut07 - Heartwarming Second Chance, with all the Feels❤️❤️❤️
I am a sucker for an epic Second Chance Love Story and Hold You Closeis just that. EPIC!
Hold onto your knickers ladies, Ian is about to become your next Book Boyfriend. Sawooooooon! Ok, well it doesn't really start off like sawoooooon, he is kind of a turdlington at first. And well, he has reasons to be. Which, imo, was perfectly acceptable, because he has crazy wicked charm. Which is why I said hold onto your knickers. 😉
I adore a strong-minded working woman, with balls of steel. And London fills that role to a T! She's all about the grind. All about making her way to the top. And being the independent woman she is. There isn’t room for a man in her life. Especially a man like Ian Chase.
Man oh man, London and Ian are like cats and dogs. Like vapid cats and dogs, but I ate that stuff up. These two burn hot, and when their heat collides its like a ruthless volcano. All ash and lava. And a side of pent up frustrations. Including the the kind where a good rumble in the sheets, should help to relieve those feelings.
Not that this should come as a surprise, this book sucker punches you right in the feels. It’s full of life and the unexpectedness that comes with it. The way this story was written was brilliant. It keeps the readers on their toes and your heart hurting. I felt a great big ole game of tug-a-war happening, for just about the whole story. I think the best part of this story for me, was seeing something change so abruptly and also seeing great growth in each character. Change is something that is hard to overcome, but this book shows that change is good. Even when things are difficult.
If you’re looking for a heart wrenching, life altering book, Hold You Close is most definitely the real deal. Especially if you’re a HUGE fan of both Corinne Michaels and Melanie Harlow—-you know that they’re both creative geniuses and working alongside one another proves that point even further!!
Lexy H. - Loved it
Waiting for this book, co-written by two of my favorite authors was absolutely worth it. Oh, how this book was full emotion. Ian and London’s story was one I wasn’t prepared for. I knew going into this story I needed to prepare mentally; both of these authors are known to reduce me to tears, so I wasn’t sure what the combo of them would do to me!
The best part of this story is that it’s a second chance romance. Those get me to me every time. I seriously love everything about second chance romance, and the romance between these to is something that has been a long time coming.
Ian and London are thrown into a situation neither of them ever wanted to happen. It breaks your heart in every place possibly and it mends it slowly as you read. Your heart feels so many emotions when reading their story. Every page added more and more layers to their amazing story, I didn’t want to put it down.
Watching Ian and London try and navigate their new roles and deal with the sparks that are clearly between make for a story that as a reader, I loved. Ian and London’s story was perfect for them.
Ashers4747 - Be prepared to stay up all night to binge read!
I absolutely loved this book! The co-authors did an amazing job.
The push and pull of the characters kept me on edge, but also brought the chemistry to a whole different level.
I read in one sitting not being able to put down this emotional love story. Will be reading again and can’t wait for their next co-written book.
Angelfoll - Dynamic duo!!!
Omg all the feels! “ ALL THE FEELS PEOPLE” your gonna fall in LOVE!
Loved this book so so so so much! Ahhh you guys it’s just so sweet!
Well I love these authors and their books, so when I heard they wrote one together I couldn’t have been more excited. Hold you close is a beautiful story with emotional moments that are sure to bring on the water works. I was doused in tears and I laughed at the right times. Ian at first isn’t very likable but he will grow on you. I adored him., I understood him and I fell in love with him. He and London had bickering down to a science, Ive never seen two people dislike one another with so much love. Their banter was actually pretty hilarious and fun to watch, even at the expense of their hearts. I couldn’t help but laugh. The kids were an added bonus. With real life situations thrown into it I was a believer in happy endings. I just loved this story. I can’t wait to see what these two authors do next.
Love2Read84 - Ian and London are relationship goals
Ian and London are just everything! I love how the two have such a history. Their story is so real and I feel that it could happen in real life. Ian is my dream guy and just has ALL the swoons! Corinne and Melanie knocked it out of the park. They truly wrote like they were one person. Their writing was absolutely seamless and perfect. I can’t wait for the next collaboration.
KindleKat64 - One of my favorite reads of 2018!!
The word of the day is AMAZING!!! This is an amazing book with amazing characters (Ian and London) that I love so, so much written by these two amazing authors!!! It is one of my favorite reads this year for sure!! I honestly knew it would be because how could it not be? The way the tone is set at the beginning of this story, you will most likely not like Ian. However, I hereby challenge you not to fall absolutely 150 percent head over heels in love with this man by the mid-point of the story. It happened sooner for me though. Sigh.
There are some other very significant characters that will run away with your hearts for sure.
I do not want to give any of this story a way but I will tell you that this book will make you feel EVERYTHING!! It was written so wonderfully to be able to touch on so many emotions in such a short time. This will be on my re-read list for sure and that is not a very long list! I would give this one all the stars in the sky if I could!
I cannot wait to see what these two amazing, there's that word again, ladies collaborate on next for our reading pleasure! And isn't that the reason we read? I know it is for me.

Swiss chanti - One word “LOVE”
When two of your favourite authors get together.....this happens. They create this incredible story, one you can’t put down.
Ian’s and London’s story. Loved every second of it. Not only did it make me cry but their act of no I don’t want you made me smile many times. It is so obvious the are meant for each other. It is so obvious they like each other. It is so obvious they want each other. No matter how hard they try to deny it.
So when the unthinkable happens and their lives are turned upside down they realize how pressure live is. Being brought back together, having to rely on each other opens up the feelings they have tried so hard to ignore.
I truly loved this story. Melanie and Corinne have done an incredible job letting us into Ian and London’s lives, experience their emotions and heartbreaks with them and feel the joys and sorrows. A definite 5 star read for me.

Erin Lewis aka Maimeo's - Wow
5 star Review Hold You Close by Melanie Harlow & Corinne Michaels
Hold You Close is a second chance at love story and yet it is SO much more. Wow, what an amazing story that had me riveted from chapter one. I was hooked and had difficulty putting the book down. Melanie Harlow is a new author to me but I have read a few books from Corinne Michaels in the last year. These two together are an excellent writing team. I have no idea where one author ended and the other took over such was the seamlessness to their writing.
Ian Chase broke London Parish’s heart 18 years ago when they were teenagers and she still hates him for the hurt and utter devastation he caused her.
There relationship is complicated because they are both godparents to Ian’s sister (and London’s best friend) 3 children.
When tragedy strikes Ian and London are thrown together to deal with not only great loss but the care of the 3 children together. Can they put the past behind them and do what is best for the children? Will the love they once shared force it’s way to the surface and cause even more complications?
This book hit home for me as both may parts died when I was little so it really brought back memories and feelings that have been buried deep for many many years.
I laughed, I cried, I was furious, angry and above all else, I was invested. What an emotional journey from the lowest of lows to the highest of highs Hold You Close has it all.
This is a book book I highly recommend you one click and read ASAP, you won’t be disappointed.
