Great for anyone 10 and up!. I am a huge fan of the podcast (The Adventure Zone) and this is a great adaptation. There are changes of course, but the changes fit the medium very well. For anyone who isn’t into the podcast, and just seeing this in their recommendations, I would strongly suggest giving this a shot, if you like comics with dramatics but without a ton of grit. If the series continues (which I think it will, petals to the metal is already in the works at the moment) then this is a great series for anyone. It’s going to get heavy, but in a way that’s great for the heart. Please, at least give it a chance. Carey’s artwork and Clint, Griffin, Justin, and Travis’s storytelling and choices are a wonderful wonderful combination.

Perfect.. I’m indescribably happy that this exists. I will be buying every single one of these for every arch paper and digital. Please never stop doing what you do.

Loved it so much.. It’s an awesome, funny story, I’ll definitely read it again. If you like fantasy with lots of wit and shenanigans, you’ll probably love this book.

Great adaptation of a beautiful story. I began listening to TAZ a few months ago and finished it with two weeks. I could not stop listening! It is so hilarious and touching and well written. I have re listened 3 times so far. And this comic book is an AMAZING adaptation of the masterpiece that the McElroy bros (and dad child) have crafted. I only wish that they could get the rights to use the actual names of the people and places. But I understand that’s not always possible, still it kind of broke the feeling sometimes.

Just as good!!. This comic captures podcast very well. My problem is that I love the McElroys voice talent so much that it would be better off as an anime or adult humor cartoon show. Combine their voices with the animation style...but I’ll take what I can get. This graphic novel is a great adaptation of the Podcast!! It was good to finally get to see the characters and the action. I’m anxiously waiting for the next graphic novel to come out this July. Thank you to Griffin, Travis, Clint, and Justin for creating a wonderful show!!

A wonderful retelling. Only being a small piece of the fantastic story told by four goofballs, it is still just as fantastic as I remember. Absolutely love the way they show that it is more or less a story, breaking the 4th wall to show the DM, no “oh we just ignore that bit”. Some of the best comedy came from the conversations between the players and DM and I love how they keep it.

An absolutely spectacular take on an amazing podcast!. The McElroy’s (and Carey!) are back at it again with this incredible adaptation! After finishing the comic I am feeling just as inspired and adventurous as when I listened to the podcast. This book was definitely worth the wait, and I can’t wait for what comes next!

As Superb as You’d Expect. The Adventure Zone graphic novel, is, like the podcast, full of charm, humor, and McElroy goodness. It also contains beautiful imaginings of the three main characters and the world they’re in, adding a whole new visual aspect to the storytelling.

Incredible. This is an amazing rendition of the McElroy (tm) (tm) (tm) brand of podcast The Adventure Zone. Absolutely amazing. The story is easy to follow yet complex enough that when you read the book after listening to the podcast you notice little Easter eggs or things in the background that elude to future chapters. Carey Peitch’s art style and quality give the novel even more life. All in all, definitely a good read. But I would suggest reading it after listening to the podcast for maximum enjoyment.

Worth it for that last panel. Fans of the show will love this. I feel like this could very well be a way to introduce TAZcast to friends without asking them to listen to hundreds of hours of podcasts. The name changes from the first session using WOTC published content were dissapointing but understandable, but I am pretty dissapointed they wrote out the orc child and the slavers as I think that made the fall of bogard/gundrin far more poignant and put more of the responsibility on the hands of the hero’s. But it’s still a great read.

A Great Improvement to a Rocky Start. I’m not the only one who thinks that the beginning of The Adventure Zone is a little rough. Griffin hadn’t found his direction yet and the rest of the McElroys’ characters were little more than your standard adventurers, murderous tendencies included. Even after they began to find their groove, there were a few things that no longer made sense in this arc as the series progressed. This graphic novel serves as a retcon of sorts, trimming the fat and making changes where they count. Along with the wonderful art of Carey Pietsch, this graphic novel stands on its own as a great story, with little nods here and there to people who have listened to the podcast, making it a worthwhile read, regardless of where you’re coming from.

Please write all of BALANCE. So happy to relive these amazing adventures over and over again. Please please keep it going!
