Death in the Park. Perfect book to read on a dreary afternoon! I thoroughly enjoyed the sisters, the town, and the story.

Easy to Read and Follow. I haven’t read any of London Lovett’s novels before, however this one left a great impression and left me with a subtle urge to read the next in the series (I have never been a series gal). Her writing was well written and easy to follow with beautiful descriptions that never seemed over exaggerated. Only downside I experienced was the slow rising action, the build up of tension to Sunni uncovering the truth behind the murder was not as exciting as I was hoping but rather subtle. The ending was almost just thrown together it seemed in my reading. I did finish this book in 2 days, it had me hooked only wish was there were bigger twists and turns in the plot. This is what I am hoping to find in book #2.

Totally engaging!. I was drawn into the storyline by the mention of Newman and Redford, the dogs. I loved reading about Newman’s love of his tennis ball. I thoroughly got into Sunni’s doggish nature of investigating her story. I’m a bit upset that now I have to go and read all the books in this series to find out what happens next! I can’t wait to find out what happens with the hunky Detective Jackson.

A good build that deflates by the end.. The start sets up a good “mystery” in a rich setting with decent characters, but stops there. No personality develops, and worse yet, the conclusion is bland. There is no gripping twist, no mystery. Suddenly, you’re near the end and we wrap up with the worst, strangest ending that doesn’t even fit the rest of this story. Very, very bad.

Enjoyable reading. Fast, fun read. Clean, no disrespectful language or taking Gods name in vain. I will definitely be reading more from this author.

Nosy or Newsy?. Sunni is forging a new life with the goal of restoring and remodeling a crumbling mansion as well as tackling her new position as reporter for the local paper. The story has interesting characters and a satisfying conclusion. I’m anxious to read the next in the series.

Death in the Park. What’s not to like? We have an inherited antebellum mansion in great need of repairs, a ghost, interesting family and friends, a hunky police investigator, and a small town newspaper reporter as the main character. Additionally to all those characters, there is a murder mystery surrounding the death of a beloved head maintenance man at the local high school. Good story and good characters make for an intriguing new series. Look forward to reading the rest of the series!

Death in the Park. Great light reading with loveable characters. Very enjoyable. Interesting story line with relatable incidents. I’m now going to buy the next one. I like to follow series to see how the characters develop through the books.

Death in the Park. Hmm, I’ll take a few days to decide whether I’ve been conned into one story padded out to leave this first book disappointingly incomplete. Not sure if this is a book or a serial. I’ve been caught before, one formula used for each episode. So, pleasant enough, a few irrelevant paragraphs scattered throughout, leaving me reluctant to buy further serials.
