It was Okay. I picked this up because of Booktok and Bookstagram. Not impressed. It had something vaguely like a plot line but not actually. And for some reason I couldn’t get into the main relationship, it just felt awkward.

Plot and Spice A+++++. I read this book after quitting another book by another author half way through because there was no plot. This one however was a nice change! Very good story line! Character development was beautiful! And very steamy! Chefs kiss! 🤌🏻

Amazing Character Development. I love a good age gap romance. Even better, I love a good really steamy age gap romance. This book managed to have plenty of really well written smut scenes without overtaking the story. Too often I’ve read books where the smut ends up being the plot and the real plot is lost. But this book’s steamy scenes are written in a way that makes it seem natural to happen as apart of the plot and makes the story flow smoothly. Greg is one hot controlling man and I’m obsessed. This book doesn’t exactly have a solid plot, but more of an abstract one that takes the form of character development. And I love it when character development is done right, and boy, is it done right in this book. There was also no plot holes in sight, and that’s always a rare plus. All loose ends were tied between all characters, no side characters even left out. Preston learns to forgive Greg and Cassidy by overcoming his selfishness and neglect, Cassidy does some growing up herself as she learns to be more mature, Cassidy’s mom overcomes her prejudice from her own past and learns to be more accepting towards Greg as she is happy for her daughter, and Greg has learned from his past mistakes as a horrible father and selfish man to become a better father and better lover. The big themes here were forgiveness and acceptance and growing up, as shown through the development. The ending had a very fulfilling end because of the closure we received. The writing was also superb and detailed. What I didn’t like though was the appendicitis part. It’s even mentioned in the book that Cassidy has never been sick, and suddenly this happens? It just kind of felt forced in to have something substantial in the plot to make up for the lack of action. And we didn’t get to know why she even had it because she was too overwhelmed and wasn’t paying attention, so in this case she plays the part of an unreliable narrator. I can’t exactly complain since the author kind of did make justified reasons to do what she did with the story, making it hard for me to exactly argue about it. And when Cassidy went through surgery, I think it would’ve been nice to have Greg’s point of view when he did the surgery just to see what was running through his mind when he cut Cassidy open to save her life—but that’s the author’s choice. I had also read Nikki Sloane’s Redemption, which was just as good. Her other stories and even romantic suspense novels seem really good as well, and with this book’s writing and steamy smut scenes, I’m eager to see what her other books have in store.

Good book if you want a LOT of spice. I wish there had been a deeper story line. I like spice in my books but I like a deeper story line where the characters build a deeper relationship. This was mostly just sex scenes over and over.

Can this hot doctor see me now?!. I have loved every Nikki Sloane book I have read, & this one is no different! I loved the taboo relationship between the older doctor Greg who is the heroine’s ex-boyfriend’s father & Cassidy the younger heroine who is 19 & fresh from a break up with her boyfriend. Nikki pulls me in with her writing & never let me go til the end of the book. Plus she knows how to write very steamy scenes! Can I find a doctor like Greg?! There a few times that Cassidy actually acted like a 19 year old which annoyed me & that included a curfew while she was staying with her mom during a break from college. Who still has a curfew at 19 while going to college?! Anyhoo, bottom line I loved this book because there wasn’t much drama, just 2 people falling in love no matter their age.

Shush do we go back to the front room. I’m happy to go back home with you and your sister and sister to go to see

Just sex. This was a very long erotic novel with very little back story, character development or emotion. Very unlike most of Nikki’s books.

Good book!. So Taboo, yet so delicious! Nice new romance where it’s based on physical attraction had me wondering, how is this going to work? Feeling like you’re asking the same questions Cassidy did, makes it semi believable and very enticing. Good setup and ending. I was hooked. I’ll read the next in series. 5 ✨ ⭐️ ⭐️

Shouldn’t but did. This was the first book by this author that I really read. I’ve read age gap before and I adore them. And I’ve read the taboo of ex-boyfriend dad trope. This one was a little different for me. I felt it was a little more forced proximity, then an easy flow. This was a more fast paced read as it was an audiobook which I would 100% recommend. I will be reading the rest of the series.

But best friends for longer. He seems very distracted with her, and she isn’t super happy anymore. Dr. Greg Lowe, smoking hot dad to Preston. He really likes Cassidy and isn’t happy with the way his son is treating her. Plot w/ No spoilers (this hard... ha pun intended) Cassidy starts to develop feelings for Greg. Greg has a rocky history with Preston and his infatuation with Cassidy isn’t going to help this. But he cannot stop thinking about her. This is a stand-alone book. And has all the feels, funny at times and sexy sexy sexy. Pros: Very likable characters and great plot development Cons: Would’ve liked more conversation between the two mains. But they have plenty. I just love heavy dialogue. I highly recommend for anyone who loves a panty melting alpha who’s also loves his son. I really enjoyed this book!
