Five Stars!. One of the best books that I’ve read in a while. This brought me through so many emotions and was well written. I also love how current it is.

AMAZING. READ THIS WHOLE BOOK IN A DAY!!

Meh. The best thing about this book is the Cover Art. Read it in a day only because I was hoping it would get better. The potential was there but at the end it was disappointing.

Hooked. I didn’t want this book to end. I was invested in the character and the supporting roles her friends played in her life. This was a true page turner, although I listened to the audio version. Great narration. I want more from this author!

Amazing Book for Black Women. I was a little irritated with queenie’s decision throughout the book especially with men but I wanted to wait and see if she would change. I’m so proud of her breaking the generational curses of black families and seeking therapy or help to help with her trauma, relationships and of course her mental well being. This book was amazing and eye opening to me it made me realize that some black women are attracted to certain types of men out of fear or going where they are wanted. I loved that it included the triumphs of being in an interracial relationship. This amazing book made me cry and made me realize so much about being a black women even though my life is just getting started.

Great Read!!. I love the character development of Queenie but the ending was a bit boring. I still would recommend.

Relatable, real, hilarious!. I can’t remember the last time I read a book this quickly. Queenie is multidimensional and has depth, like most black women. It’s refreshing to see that play out in such a relatable, funny, and modern way. No matter who you are, this book will bring out your cynicism, empathy, and ultimately, hope.

A good read. More geared towards a 20 something crowd but a good read nevertheless. I couldn’t relate to everything in the main characters life but the aspect of heartbreak and “breaks” hit home.

Queenie=Amazing. This book was amazing beyond words! I couldn’t put it down. I honestly can say I found so much of myself in this book. I want a sequel. Brilliantly written.

A page... TURNER.. Queenie had me hooked from the jump. I read the book in 48 hours... during a work week! The writing is witty and relatable.

For all the girls in their twenties. Relatable, touching, and a reminder that we are our best, just the way we are.

Queenie Review. This book just fell flat for me. The transitions from present to past where not done eloquently. Her behavior was so self destructive and cringe worthy. I seriously hated the main character. The author mentions but never went deep into the issues of black lives matter, interracial dating, white privilege, mental health or gentrification. And the book seriously needs more editing. There were so many mistakes of missing subjects & verbs in a sentence that it was hard to read. She needs a better editor because this novel reads as a second draft. Don’t believe the hype.

Loved. This is a great book! I love how Queenie was able to get over past trauma from her moms relationship and the neglect of her mom. Her three friends stood by her side through it all not judging her. Although her family are like most black families, not really believing in mental health and therapy, they were eventually supportive of her healing journey. I wish one day Queenie settle down with a black male. There’s nothing like black love.

Been there. Been so relatable to read it is the thing I enjoyed the most about it, although I didn’t have it as rough as Queenie did, we lived the pain, self doubt and destructive behaviors after a break up differently, but at the end suffer them the same way. Friendship and family as shown in this story are our life support in situations like this, no matter how bad we feel, they are always there, and this is the true love we need to seek in life.

A great read. I loved this book! Honest, raw, well written. A Sunday well spent.

A mindful masterpiece. This book is for all of the black women in strange spaces trying to maneuver through the awkward levels of life. A beautiful coming of age about life in your 20s. A must read.
