A wanderer and a cursed child. Spells and magic. And dragons, of course. Welcome back to the world of Alagaësia.

It's been a year since Eragon departed Alagaësia in search of the perfect home to train a new generation of Dragon Riders. When a vision from the Eldunarí, unexpected visitors, and an exciting Urgal legend surface, Eragon is faced with a much-needed distraction that may lead to a new perspective.

This volume features three original stories set in Alagaësia, interspersed with scenes from Eragon's own unfolding adventure. Included is an excerpt from the memoir of the unforgettable witch and fortune-teller Angela the herbalist . . . penned by Angela Paolini, the inspiration for the character, herself!

Also includes four new pieces of original art by the author!

MORE!!!. Great writing and great book but please continue to write more!

Left me begging for more. Christopher has created a world worth spending time in, worth learning about, and more importantly, characters that burn themselves into your heart of hearts. While short, it gave invaluable insight into characters we knew little about. I hope to read more tales of Alagaesia in the near future!

Incoherent Hodgepodge. An incoherent hodgepodge—not worth the read and does not live up to Paolini’s previous works. Terrible.

An interesting tease. Interesting continuation of the story.

🌟🌟🌟🌟. Can I please recommend rewriting this series in Arya's perspective. I get that it would take forever but just a thought.😇

Great read, just short. Really loved getting back into this world after so long, really solid writing and I loved the new characters. I wish it would have been longer seeing as it only took about 2 hours to read, but I understand that C.P didn't intend for these stories to come together so that makes sense. I'd say it's worth buying if you really enjoyed the Inheritance Cycle.

Enjoyment and disappointment. I love having a new book after so long. The insight into what is happening after book 4 is a wonderful experience. The story The Worm was interesting enough as it gave us more insight into the urgal culture. That we had been missing before. But my only disappointment is the length. But then again I would be happy with four more 500 plus page books. Please keep at it Chris. I look forward to more time spent reading about the wonderful world you have created.

Elrun ono. Thank you for this newest installment and continuing the Eragon books. I’m only giving it 4 stars because it was so short but the books were amazing!!!!! Elrun Ono

Itching for more!!. Wonderful read, my only criticism is it’s too short!

Great!. Maybe just a touch overpriced for the length, which is why I knocked a star off, but I loved it still. Hopefully a full length novel is coming!

Great Short Read!. Throughly enjoyed getting back into the world of Alagaesia. Can’t wait for the next book. This provided a good glimpse into several characters and future storylines.

Beloved series gets even better. Hats off to Paolini for his impressive writing skills. The imagery and descriptive language both aligns consistently with previous books and flows off the pages. The main review will mostly likely be that the book is too short, and I agree. However, there could not be a more positive review than that! Paolini builds within his readers an emotion of “Is it over already?!” vs. “When will it be over?” (much like I felt with the Fellowship of the Ring). Excellent introductory book to the newest series. I eagerly await the next!

Amazing work once again. All I hope is that you return once again to the world of Alagaësia! Maybe you’ll write that full size novel you mentioned 😁

Cruel Teaser. Way too short and left me wanting so much more.

Amazinh. It was finally so nice to get something that explains a little bit more of Alagaësia.

Great book. This has got me itching for a new story from alagaesia

I expect volume 2 mister. Mr. Poalini I need you to know your books are by far my favorites. It’s been years since the inheritance cycle finished and I ate this book. Thank you for your incredibly detailed and wonderful imagination!!

V. Where’s the story??

I want more 😩. I was so sad when I finished the Eragon series, and then I saw this book and hoped it was like the 5th book in the series. It offers a little bit into the later life of Eragon, Murtagh Angela and the cursed one. I was hoping for another epic adventure but it wasn’t quite that. Less than 200 pages. Still worth the read

Fun return to the world. It’s been a while since I read the Inheritance series. I really enjoyed returning to the world and getting to spend time with the characters. I hope there is more to come. I would love another book.

Amazing as always. While short, this was such an enjoyable read. Years of missing the stories and words of Eragon and Saphira, it was a great sensation to be drawn back into the world of Alagaesia.

That’s it?!?!. I love Eragon!! My friend suggested it to me and I’ve gone back and reread the series several times now! This book was so much fun to read bc I feel like we all were like “What happened afterward?!” Especially with Murtagh and I hope that we can get another one of these!! Thanks for this amazing series, Mr Paolini!!!! Atra gülai un ilian tauthr ono un atra ono waíse skölir frá rauthr!

Outstanding Work. I enjoyed this book very much. I have read the inheritance cycle and this definitely adds to the experience. I really enjoyed the ending of Urgals story it brought tears to my eyes. Thank you!

Good read, waste of money. As always paolini has delivered a riveting read, however the short length of the book (took me only 30 min to read the whole of it) makes this a waste of money. It’s not worth the listed 9.99 price - reduce to 4.99 and will get 5 stars.

Great to be back!. Love the inheritance cycle, and had a joy visiting into the world again. Found myself having some questions answered and even more questions found! All in all a high recommendation.

Good book but. It was a desent read but felt drawn out at the end but was good start to a new seris

Trgjiiii. Please please call please please text text back please thank love thank thank love for your help thank you love you please please call me please thank

Book 5. I am looking forward to reading book 5, it would be a pleasure to be able to read it within the next five years!

The latest from Eragon. It’s been a long time since I got to sit down and read a book, but when I happened across this it took me back to when I read the inheritance series. Seeing how the characters I fell in love with have developed and changed is exciting and riveting. And I am very excited to see what comes next, to learn more about what has happened since inheritance and what the new adventures are around the corner. I cannot wait to read the next book from Christopher, and hopefully it’s more from alagaësia.

Amazing. I absolutely love all of Christopher Paolini’s books I have read the inheritance cycle 4 times just waiting for a new book

A Very Satisfying Epilogue. I started this and finished it the same day, unable to put it down. I found the anthology format and exploration of the characters involved did a fantastic job of scratching my Inheritance itch! I sincerely hope this is an epilogue to the Inheritance Cycle but also that it becomes something of a prologue for a future series. Mr. Paolini, if you’re reading this, Alagaësa is my favourite fantasy setting and has been since I was a child. I sincerely hope to see more of it in the form of new riders, dragons, and heroes besides. Elrun ono, Christopher Elda
