Besties or More?. Talia and Jessie have friends since grade school. When they decide to move from their small town to the “big” city, they find it very different and more expensive than they ever imagined. Together, they rent a tiny apartment in NYC. When Talia leaves for the summer with her dance company, they sublet Talia’s room so rent is covered. Until their renter falls through... Shawn needs a place to stay. He can’t take another night on the broken down couch. When his sister contacts him with a solution to all their problems, he gladly accepts. Shawn, plagued by bad choices, really wants to prove himself and be successful at the brewery. So he packs his bag and heads to Talia’s, hoping for a peaceful night’s sleep. That is until he slides into the wrong bed..... Shawn remembers Jessie as a glasses wearing, nerdy type. He definitely doesn’t remember her as the stunning woman he’s just slid into bed with. On the other hand, Jessie remembers Shawn’s hooking up ways! But she has to admit he’s definitely HOT now! Although Jessie’s not pleased with Talia, she and Shawn agree to be “friends” since they’ll be living together for the summer. When one kiss leads to more, they decide to enjoy themselves until Talia comes home. But will Talia be so accepting? I loved that the “Alpha male” in this story was kind of broken. I liked the he was REAL! Shawn made poor decisions, as we all do. But he truly wanted to be successful, trustworthy, and loved. Very relatable! I liked how Jessie brought out the best in Shawn and fueled his desire to BE better, not only for her but for himself as well. I enjoyed Shawn’s encouragement of Jessie too. I read a gifted copy and all opinions stated are my own.

Great read. I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I rooted for Shawn all the way. Had moments of laughter, always a plus. Never felt the story drag on, from start to finish I was captured! 🥰
