Death's Door by David Reichart Book Summary
Elite special ops veteran Jesse Yates is used to things being simple: find the enemy and kill him. But at a point where 9/11 seems to have become a distant memory to everybody but him and his team, Yates opts out of the military. Now he just wants to be a regular guy and fit back into society. But he's not a regular guy, and he has come home to a stressed-out America where every act seems to involve a risky set of consequences.
Yates needs a job after quickly washing out as a trucker, and Palm Court Detectives (run by a laicized Jesuit priest in a refashioned vintage motel in Mobile, Alabama) can provide the two things he wants more than anything right now—a close-knit team like the ones he always had in the military and a chance for the occasional thrill.
Yates could have picked a better first assignment than getting behind the wheel of an 18-wheeler again to draw out hijackers, but he's not the kind of guy who questions his marching orders. Devotion to duty and supreme confidence soon drive the rookie private eye into the middle of a turf war between hijackers who he likes, outlaw bikers who like him (or what he can do for them) and a drug cartel renegade with a severe Jesse Yates problem.
The former Navy SEAL gets drawn into a toxic plot so fast and so deep that every move he makes is a crap shoot, based on pure instinct. When Yates finds himself on the ride of his life with potential for massive civilian casualties, he's going to have to make one more precise decision and fall back hard on his extreme training and lethal skills. But in this fight, for the first time, he's on his own.

Death's Door. I enjoy mysteries and thrillers, and this was one of the better ones. Just enough thrills and sex without being unbelievable or pornogra phic. J. Mitchell.
Fast paced and enjoyable. Well written. Characters were nicely developed and although it was a little slow to start, once it got going there were a lot of twists and turns and the end was not what I was expecting. Glad I gave this author a chance and will be looking for more books of his in the future.
Witty, engaging and wellwritten. Great characters, fast paced action wrapped in a humorous style. Loved it.
Deaths door. Very great book,kept me in suspense until the last page!! Hated to get to the end cause I wanted to know what happens next so I’ll just have to get the next book in the series!!
