Perfect. A perfect teen Romance that is so stereotypical but so unique. It’s hard not to fall in love with the characters. Loved this.

A must read!. Heather puts her dreams on hold to take care of her mother. When Noah moves into her family’s summer rental, things start to look up. She’s instantly attracted to Noah. Noah tries to fight his attraction because he is a bit older than Heather but it becomes futile. The attraction starts to become too much for both of them. But he has a secret as to what brought him to the lake. When Heather finds out the reason he’s there, will she still feel the same way about Noah? I don’t want to give anything away but I can say I really liked this book. But I love all of Penelope’s books so I knew this would be an amazing book too. There were moments when I laughed and moments that made me cry. There wasn’t anything that I didn’t enjoy about this book. Loved every second of it.

It is a delight in its message. To learn from mistakes, to take risks, to let yourself fall. Heather is an absolute strength in how she holds herself. She is determination, fun, humor, and kindness in a lovely package. Yet, she is alone. Utterly alone in all of the moments she needs support the most, particularly from sources that should be there to lift her up, to guide her. Noah is a man with fears and secrets, with broken dreams and missing pieces. He is the real deal, the one who will set your teeth to grinding at his feisty manner while also breathing fire into your veins. He is generous and kind-hearted; solid. He is abrasive, sexy, and golden. A true hero, even when the situation may not call for it. As there relationship unfolds, they give one another the chance to endure, to grow, and to learn in a way that only further fueled my admiration of them. I was dying every minute of this book and the heat, laughter, and tears ensured that this book became another favorite read of 2019. I love how real this story was for me. Penelope never ceases to give me everything I want in her book, including the perfect HEA.

Penelope Ward’s BEST novel to date!. NO SPOILERS! Penelope Ward blew it out of the water with When August Ends! This book, THIS BOOK, was EVERYTHING! Just when I thought Penelope couldn’t top her previous books, she went and wrote When August Ends. The storyline and characters were absolutely PHENOMENAL, and I fell head over heels in love with them. When August Ends has been Penelope Ward’s BEST novel to date, and my FAVORITE book from her so far! The storyline was fantastic, and that word doesn’t even do it enough justice. I honestly don’t know how she did it, but Penelope Ward wove a tale so beautiful, so refreshing, so inspiring, that I was truly left in awe. I’ve always been blown away by her talent, but she truly exceeded all of my expectations with When August Ends. The plot was incredibly unique, as all of Ward’s novels are, and I was smitten from beginning to end. Noah and Heather’s story was sweet, sexy, funny, emotional, utterly swoon-worthy, and truly unforgettable and unputdownable. It was everything you could possibly want in a romance and so much more! The characters were EXTRAORDINARY, and I completely fell head over heels in love with them. Noah and Heather have been two of my favorite characters that Penelope Ward has written so far, and they completely stole my heart. I felt an immediate connection with them, and was engrossed in their story from page one. I loved Noah and Heather’s personalities, sizzling chemistry together, and how their relationship progressed throughout. I loved reading the book from Noah and Heather’s point of view, and all of their banter and interactions with each other. Despite the age difference between them (which was totally not an issue), Noah and Heather had a strong, deep, and meaningful bond that was envy-worthy. Noah and Heather’s journey was truly unforgettable and unputdownable, and although they had trials and tribulations, I was absolutely ecstatic with the conclusion and couldn’t have been happier for them. When August Ends was a sweet, sexy, swoon-worthy, and emotional standalone contemporary romance that will make you think and feel so much, and has hands down been Penelope Ward’s BEST novel to date! Ms. Ward blew me away with Noah and Heather’s absolute MUST READ love story, and I would HIGHLY recommend it!

All The Love. I usually go into a book with knowing the basis of what will happen. With that said, this book totally took me for all the biscuits. Nothing was as I thought it would be or played out how it should.... well, except for Noah and Heather falling in love with each other. Amazing with an original storyline to boot. Loved it!

Emotional and heartfelt story that takes the reader on a journey!. I am super happy that Penelope wrote a story that involves an age gap between the Hero and heroine. I loved the slow burn between Noah and Heather. Penelope always takes us on a journey in her stories and this one focuses a lot on not letting life pass you by. Heather was very refreshing, young in age but mature in soul. She's put her own dreams on hold to take care of her mother. When she sees the man who has rented their boathouse for the summer, she feels something for him she's never felt towards anyone before. But Noah quickly makes it clear, nothing is going to happen between them, no matter how many advances Heather makes. I really enjoyed the journey Heather and Noah take together. Spending the summer together, fixing up the property so that Heather can put it on the market to sell. These two grew together as friends, learning many lessons from each other along the way. Initially, I was a little put off with how rude Noah came across to Heather with his abruptness and gruffness, but he grew on me over time and by the end of the story I was pretty enamored with him. There are plenty of emotions in this book, and like the slow burn between Heather and Noah, the emotions built to a crescendo for me up until the very end. With everything that Heather and Noah are dealing with, separately and together, my heart was stretched tight for them, and then Penelope lovingly molded it back into shape and left me with a happy, goofy smile on my face. Fans of Penelope's stories are going to fall hard for Noah and want to be besties with Heather.

Fresh story line. Loved this fresh story line from Penelope Ward. This was a unique love story and had it all. The push pull of an unwanted romance, regret and healing. Loved it.

Cute. I loved the setting of this book, the age differences, storyline. I didn’t like the overall role of the mother character , was just odd. Otherwise cute book.

You will never want August to End. To give this book 5 stars simply doesn't seem like enough! I probably say that about all of Penelope Ward's books but it's only because it is true! As usual, she put's everything into her words and can write the heck out of a story! She gives us amazingly deep characters with which to fall in love with along with an incredibly beautiful story that takes you on an emotional ride, that I for one, will not soon forget! I felt so many different emotions, some deeper than others, while on Noah and Heather's journey that it will take me some time to recover. I love that their story goes in directions I never expected it to at times. I was absolutely mesmerized by Noah and Heather from their very first meeting. Their connection goes so far beyond the boundaries of age and time. It is so easy to believe that they were destined to meet in this very place at this very time for reasons that are not quite clear to us for a while, but when Penelope reveals all to us it make so much sense and gives even more depth to their story. If ever two people complete each other, it is Noah and Heather. Definitely one of my new favorites!!

When August Ends. A true binge read. I could not put down. Penelope Ward has done it again with this awesome heartwarming story that pulls at your heartstrings as this story develop. We met twenty year Heather a strong beautiful women who has sacrificed everything for family; who rents the family’s boat house to a Noah handsome older man, a famous photographer with chemistry, attitude, and an alternative motive. The two have immediate spark and Noah tells Heather there is no way they will be together. This is their story as the inevitable happens and Noah gives into chemistry. A story of friendship, trust, fate, loyalty, and love proving age is just a number.

Wonderful. I couldn’t put the book down once I started reading. I loved the writing style. More books like this please! ;)

I didn’t want it to end. I don’t know what to say about this book except WOW! I can’t put my finger on why it had all the feels but it just did. There was so much depth and soul. Life lessons and heartache, love and strength. I didn’t want it to end and I sure loved it. It rigged on my heart in the best way.

Noah will steal your heart!!!. Get ready for Noah to steal your heart! Penelope Ward has just written my new favorite! Heather is truly a heroine who you will fall in love with too! This book has all the feels—it will break your heart and it will piece it back together! I wish I could give it the million stars that it deserves! With a dog nicknamed Fathead and two gerbils named Bonnie and Clyde, you know your heart will be stolen. Run, don’t walk, to get this book! 5 amazeball stars

Really sweet. Loved the book, it was so sweet !! The story has several turning points, it’s interesting how two people can be brought together. He had a great sense of humor and was so hot !!

Fantastic Summer Read. Unlike other Penelope Ward books, this one took a little bit for me to get into it. I think the writing seemed a bit off...or just a bit different from her other works. The structure seemed to be trying to be a bit younger feeling to me...if that makes sense. But after a while, I was in total Penelope overload and not willing to put the book down. This was an entertaining story. It's been described as a friends to lovers troupe but I don't really agree with this description. Yes, Noah and Heather do become great friends, but that is not how their relationship started off. In fact, Heather is immediately drawn to Noah in a sexual nature during their first meeting. And she goes as far as to tell Noah. She does not beat around the bush but is very blatant at her attraction. I think it was this blatant behavior that I really liked in Heather's. character. Noah on the other hand tells Heather that he is not here to have a relationship with her. That his time is limited until the end of the summer. He even goes on to promise Heather's mother that he is not interested in a relationship with Heather...and she is skeptical. These are some interesting characters with a unique and interesting connection. But of course, you have to read 90% of the story before their connection is revealed...and I'm not about to spoil it here. In typical Penelope Ward fashion, readers are intrigued by her characters and their story and When August Ends doesn't fail to intrigue. A worthy read for any romance fan.

Great read. It was fun and flirty in the beginning. Then, it turned out to be a deep, emotional story about how these 2 people meet. After all the time of being sensible and making sure, they both get their HEA.❤️

Such a delight to read!. I was riveted from the beginning of this beautiful book and it had my attention throughout the whole storyline! The characters, namely Noah and Heather hold a place in my heart! Heather definitely has a lot on her plate but when Noah rents the boathouse her family runs, needless to say you will have a tumultuous ride in store as you read! I loved Heather's personality, her ability to just blurt out whats on her mind and the connection that builds between them is so endearing! Noah came to rent the place and we find out some truths later on! Decisions, how the heart feels and beautiful friendships all make this the most enjoyable book that will stay in my heart forever! I especially loved how it ended and the sadness is there but doesn’t distract from a heartwarming romance! Such a delight to read!

Great Read. This author is one of my unicorn/ go to authors and just when I think I have seen her best she gives me yet another brilliant read and When August Ends is certainly that, it is a must read. This book has all the feels you want and expect in a great read, a slow burn with characters you will fall in love with, it will captivate you and keep you interested to the very last page. Noah and Heather stole a piece of my heart and I think if I’m totally honest I’m not going to get it back because their journey will be a story I will read over and over again. I loved Heather’s honestly, I loved how she had no control over blurting out exactly what’s on her mind and the friendship she shared with the man she had fallen for hook line and sinker. What can I say about Noah that hasn’t already been said before he is dark, mysterious and extremely handsome and boy oh boy did I swoon. Noah may have tried to warn Heather he was too old and wasn’t into relationships but sometimes friendships turn into so much more and love happens when we least expect it. This book has it all, secrets, lies, second chances as well as rejection but there is also plenty of moments that will leave you smiling so do yourself a favour and one click When August Ends.

Wow. Ok this book was just everything. Age gaps are one of my favourite tropes but they’re also sometimes over the top or a little questionable. This one wasn’t at all, it was beautiful and natural and the chemistry was slow burn and so well done. I loved the humour and the omg embarrassing moments throughout the book. It was everything I hoped for and still more. Totally loved it, one of my 6 star reads for 2019 for sure!
