Just okay. I was expecting more since I loved her previous books.

Good Read. I enjoyed this book. It maintained a good pace and kept me on my toes and engaged throughout. There were some plot points that left me hanging but overall it was a very enjoyable experience.

Loved it !. Kept me on my toes to be honest. Held my interest and didn’t feel as though their were any lulls in the story. I did grow a bit impatient closer to the end because I was dying to know who the culprit was. I’m no detective but I also didn’t feel like one would’ve guessed who done it easily either, unless you’re really paying attention. Would definitely recommend for a good murder mystery.

Interesting Easy Read. This was a good one! Definitely keeps you guessing. I like that it was easy to read. Descriptive enough without bogging the reader down with unnecessary details and gets right to the point of what’s going on. Also some characters you can actually feel sympathetic toward. Will check out more from this author!

Disappointing. This book reads like stereo instructions… Incredibly bland and ultimately disappointing.

Never saw it coming. Really interesting book never got boring I will say towards the end when they had already accused the whole neighborhood I was getting impatient . Also was not able to predict the ending !

Someone We Know. A bit like a Desperate Housewives scenario but kept me interested. Didn’t know for sure who the killer was until the end.

Someone we know - Shari Lapena. I actually never read a Shari Lapena book before, but this sounded good so I decided to buy it. The only think I could complain about really is the spine, a bright yellow? Seriously? I hate looking at it on my shelf which is a shame since its a really good book, but I won’t be picky. I’m seeing a lot of people aren’t a fan of the ending, and I actually liked it, I was surprised and a bit confused. The characters were kind of likable and the setting is okay, BUT THE PLOT. I read 32 chapters in a night. I was so in to this mystery and had no idea who actually killed her. I kept changing my answer back and forth as the story went on, and in the end, I was wrong. This story gave me goosebumps and not many mystery/thriller novels usually do that. Sometimes I got kinda confused on who was speaking and had to reread a few times to actually understand whats going on and who’s saying what, but other than that I couldn’t put it down. Would recommend to mystery/thriller fans!

BORING/WASTE OF MONEY. This book was so drawn out, and boring. I wish I could get a refund. Save your money and time for a better book. This was terrible, the author should be ashamed of herself!!!! Boring book!!

Kept me wondering. To me very interesting. I never read a book by this author but thought it would be good. I loved how the author made you think the killer was reveal and then you find out nope it was someone else.

Someone We Actually Don’t Know Too Good. Shari LaPena is a deceptive writer, her style believable and absorbing. She executes deft plot twists we never see coming that add layers of suspense. The characters and plottung are both completely believable. Each of the parts, if taken as single puzzle pieces, are just involving enough to get us to the next pivot point. Yet in the end, the sum is much greater than the parts.

reread it a bunch of times. this book is my all time favorite it has a perfect mix of mystery and thriller it’s that book where you think you know who it is but in reality it’s not the person you think i’ve reread this book about 4 times it’s so good 10/10.

Ugh!. I really liked this book, until the end!! It was like a cliffhanger to a series, but it’s not a series and way too much was left unknown. Ruined the whole thing!!

This book kept my interest. I loved the book. This is the 2nd book that my book club and I have finished and while The Couple Next was good, this book was busy and kept us on edge! Definitely gonna check out more books by this author. 🙌🏽

Enjoyed it, but.... This is the second book I have read by this author, the first being An Unwanted Guest. Both start out fantastic, but both limp to the finish. It’s disappointing to me when the resolution of a story you are invested in, ends with a tertiary, minor, character being the linchpin to the climax. It just comes out of nowhere, and feels uninspired.

Great twists and turns!. I really like that this book had me guessing all along and the ending was still a great surprise! Very captivating and a quick read, definitely recommend!

Page turning!. I could not put this book down. Shari does such a good job at making you feel like you’re one of the characters. The whole book was so engaging and I didn’t have a single clue on the outcome. Absolutely love her books.

Easy to follow all the characters. Many different eggs in the basket with this one. Shari does a great job of preventing confusion between characters. I read this over a span of time and that says a lot because I could have easily gotten confused with so many characters but never did. Lots of twists and turns. Often, I guess the killer with books like these but didn’t see this one coming! Its no “My Lovely Wife,” but its worth reading

Lapena never disappoints!. I absolutely love her books. If you are looking for a page turner with so many suspects you don’t know who to pick, then find out it’s someone you didn’t expect, the this one is for you. Thank you again for another great murder mystery, Ms. Lapena!
