Characters aren’t likeable. The characters especially the female lead just don’t seem to connect or work for me. Too much focus on getting out of control drunk and sex without even knowing who she’s with... and she gets violent twice which isn’t acceptable would that be ok if he did it to her? Nope. Waste of time.

Falling in love with the Laird of the Castle.. Rose is happy to go to Scotland to be the maid of honor for her best friend Katie. But it is bittersweet because they have always done everything together since they were children and now Katie will be living a long ways away. Rose has always been fascinated with history and being in Scotland is a dream come true. But the best man Lachlan is truly making her time in Scotland memorable. But she can’t stay. She has to go home to New Jersey and back to her boring going nowhere job. Unless Lachlan can convince her to stay. What happens in the highlands. Excellent read - exciting adorable characters with lots of exciting adventures. Makes me want to visit Scotland and capture me a kilt wearing Scotsman. Read and enjoy an adventure as the author takes you to a land that is made of dreams.

What Happens in the Highlands. The story was different. The setting was different and the characters were different. It was a pretty good story, but it lacked something. I wasn’t too excited over the ending. I give the book 3 3/4 stars.

Dumb as wood. That girl is so insecure! Literally didn’t trust lachlan the whole time, just cussing him out and slamming doors because of her insecurities. Always comparing herself to the “perfect” ex. Got old fast, other than her imaginary problems about lachlans faithfulness there was no real issue. The story was like a summary without a bad guy or dilemma.

Far away love. Great book that takes place in Scotland. Rose comes to the wedding of her best friend amber plans to be the best bridesmaid ever. Only she’s about to let off some much needed pent up frustration and have a little fling. Will it turn into something more or will she go back home in tears? What happens in the Highlands. I loved this book, it was fun with a great love story. Rose & Lachlans story had some wonderful history about Lachlan’s family heritage and Rose’s best friend Kate’s wedding to Lachlan’s cousin Sean. I enjoyed it so much it was hard to put it down.
