So Good.... I love Thea’s characters. This story is about two strong people coming together, and the challenges they face in that connection. I love how Thea creates strong women who own their power unapologetically, and Molly is a prime example of it. Josiah is an equally strong male who butts up against Molly and their negotiations are sexy, explosive and strong. This is a trilogy, and I’m so looking forward to the next book. The overarching storyline continues but Molly and Josiah’s story is not left hanging, which is a huge gift from the author. ♥️

4.5 Stars!. This was a great start to a new series. It wasn't what I was expecting, but it sucked me right in. It did have one small portion of the book that felt a little slow. It's one of those things that I think was needed to help set up background. I felt this was a unique take on witches. I'll let you experience their secrets but I will say that the witches can live a longer life. So our couple Molly and Josiah, are an older couple. Josiah is a hard man full of the need for revenge. That does get in his way a bit in this book. Molly is coming off a really bad marriage and had every right to be bitter but she wasn't and I loved that. I really liked her outlook on life and she was just what Josiah needed. I do feel like we got closure with Josiah and Molly but their isn't full closure in the book. I won't spoil but I'll just say that there is not a huge cliffhanger either. Readers who like standalone books will be satisfied. I didn't feel like there were any hints to who would be our next couple in the series. I kind of like that we are left guessing as to what direction the author will take this in. I'll be ready to read whoever she decides is next!

Entertaining!. American Witch is a real coming to life story for middle aged Molly Sullivan. Her story is complex, harrowing, painful, very real , and as the story wraps up you realize it’s quite beautiful too. The story is about rediscovering yourself, following your own path, setting boundaries for relationships, fighting for what you want and need, and the journey to make it that much sweeter. You’ll either love the complexity of her new love interest or wish she’d find someone calmer. They’re oil and water but all flames when together. Thea Harrison has a way of writing intimate scenes that really pulls your attention and wanting a cold drink afterwards. Daaamn! There are a few areas that I wished were written differently or at the least with more tenderness from Josiah as the story unrolled, but overall I really liked the book!

Loved it!. I really enjoyed this book! It was different than I was expecting and I loved how dynamic the characters were, specifically the main characters. I liked how the Molly was a bit older than you usually see in Harrison's books, and how that manifested itself in a more self assured and confident personality- it was very refreshing! I couldn't put this book down and can't wait for the next installment in the series!

A fascinating story of an awakening witch!. I very much enjoyed the description of the disturbances that manifest as Molly is furious. She is certainly in a fiery state of mind. I love that Molly is smart, keeps herself together enough to take what she needs from the house before she leaves. She makes excellent plans. As for Josiah, a powerful witch in his own right, I didn’t warm up too quickly. He seemed too focused on the ‘power’ and becoming a political leader. He did grow on me, though. I especially adored her new-found friend Sarah and the people with whom she surrounds herself. The story is replete with acts of violence, volatile situations, passion, compassion, and romance. The story is mesmerizing!

Any book based on the Elder Races series is a must read for me.. Molly Sullivan comes into her witch powers late in life and during the journey to explore those powers finds what fate had in store. Molly is the perfect wife with the perfect life, until reality pulls the rug from underneath that perfect fantasy. When her life is in chaos, she is required to do some quick thinking to deal with her personal crisis and newly emerging powers. While pursing his own agenda, Josiah Mason steps in to help Molly and ends up finding a possible lead to his quarry. I really loved Molly as the main character. Frankly once she shook herself out of the defined lines of everyone’s expectations she was decisive, strategic and just brilliant in her planning and execution. The book showed the evolution of the life of this character and it was phenomenal. Josiah was a good complement to Molly, but I look forward to a book that develops his character and the life with his coven a bit more (hoping for a possible prequel). The tidbits given about witches made think back on the ones encountered in the Elder Races series and made me want to re-read this book and re-listen to Oracle’s Moon. Overall, it was a great book and I am eagerly waiting for more from this story arc. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Wonderful new series. Ms. Harrison’s American Witch draws the reader into Molly and Josiah’s world. Their story is fraught with suspense and mystery and incorporates a healthy dose of romance. I thoroughly enjoyed the start to her new series! Kirsten W.

Trust Thea. When I first started American Witch, I was caught off guard because the situation and heroine were so different from what I expect in Thea’s books. However, the opening was so intriguing and emotionally gripping, that I kept reading. My trust in Thea’s storytelling paid off. This is an incredible book about the heroine’s odyssey to a new life, new powers, and new love. Though it is different from other Elder Races novels, all of the qualities that make Thea’s books so entertaining are present: a strong female lead matching wits with a powerful and edgy hero, truly evil antagonists, the redemptive and transforming power of love, and the bonds of loyal friends who stand by you till the end. I highly recommend this book.

Strong female lead. entertaining. As always Thea Harrison entertains the reader with a story that you HAVE to finish at one sitting. I made the mistake of buying this book on my lunch break. Don’t do that. The story of an awaking witch and a mentor was a new twist on the elder races, that I hope we will see more of. I love Molly. She is a woman who grows strong in personal empowerment, You go girl.

Molly is great!. Thea Harrison's “American Witch” (ARC) is not a long read but it is a very enticing one. I couldn't put it down, and stayed up way too late, to find out what happened next! “American Witch” is the story of Molly, a middle aged woman who is betrayed and suddenly finds her life upended. While strange new powers are blossoming inside of her, she learns much more about herself, the husband who betrayed her and the magical world in which she finds herself. I admire Molly's fortitude and her determination to find her own path, regardless of the pressures put upon her. Thea Harrison has the best characters. Molly is definitely not an archetypal wimpy female waiting to be rescued by a big strong handsome man... but you may be able to find one of those lurking in the story!
