The Twin by Natasha Preston Book Summary

The instant New York Times bestseller!

In this twisty psychological thriller from the #1 New York Times bestselling author of THE CELLAR, Ivy wants to share everything with her twin sister . . . until her twin starts to push her out of her own life.

Ivy and Iris haven’t lived together for years—when their mother and father divorced, each parent got custody of one twin. But after a tragic accident takes their mom’s life, the devastated sisters are reunited, and Iris moves in with Ivy and their dad. Iris takes their mom’s death especially hard. She barely talks, spending hours alone in her room. Ivy can’t stand to see Iris so sad. She promised Iris that she can share her life now. After all, they’re sisters. Twins.

It’s a promise that Iris takes seriously. And before long, Ivy’s friends, her teachers, and even her boyfriend fall under Iris’s spell. Soon Ivy begins to think there’s something wrong with her twin. It’s almost like Iris is out to get her. Ivy tells herself she’s being paranoid. It’s not like she’s in any danger from her twin. . . .

The Twin is an unputdownable read that will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very end.

Difficult. I love Natasha Preston, she is one of my favorite authors, so when I heard she had wrote a new book, I bought it without second thought. This book was different from the others she was written. Like the other reviews say, the ending was... rough. However, I think it is smart if she is planning on writing a second. A few of her other books are the same way, where the story just cannot be finished. This ending is very frustrating. In most of her other books, it is a complete mystery, and you truly don’t know what is happening, but with this one it is different, so I didn’t enjoy it as much. If I had never read one of her books, I think I would have enjoyed it much more, because I know she is capable of such great things. She had set the bar so high for herself, and this one didn’t quite reach the mark. I hope she finishes this story, and the others that have been left unfinished. If this is the first book of hers you have read, please read some of her others, even if you didn’t love this one. My favorites are The Cellar, The Lost, and You WIll be Mine. Warning though, all of those are a more gruesome than this one. But don’t let that steer you away.

Not a fan. This is the only book of Preston’s that I genuinely have not liked.

Waste of a read. I like this author, but I was very disappointed by this whole book. It wasn’t as well written as her previous novels. It feels as if it was all rushed together.

The Twin. I read the whole book in a matter of hours! It was amazing and I was so excited to get to the end. Until the end ruined the book. It completely changed the mood for me, and the fact that the antagonist completely won over was very upsetting! Unless another book comes out, I will be forever angry at the way this book ended. Preston is an amazing author, though!

Insane book. Okay, I Never read any books from this author and before reviewing I just went through some of the reviews and everybody seems to be talking about the ending as well. All throughout this book I just feel upset at the characters and when I got towards the end I just really wanted to know what happened and I couldn’t stop reading, but I was disappointing on the ending the ending is just really rough. This was the first book that I ever read from Natasha and I don’t know I feel like the ending should’ve been I would’ve enjoyed it better if it would’ve been different. Don’t get me wrong it’s a really good book I don’t know but when I was reading it when I finish this book it’s sort of gave me like bates motel( psycho) like that sort of dark kind of stories. If you like books that are intense this books is for you. It was good but not the kind of book I like to read. But it was a good read.

Ending sucked. I love Natasha. I’ve read most of her books; so, when this one came out I got it without a second thought. The book was great, I just wish it ended differently. It left me feeling like the book was not completely done. (I really hope there is a second part to this eventually). It’s a really good book, it just left me wanting more.

Dumb. How do you give me a great book and a twin that has all the answers and that can solve this problem and then ended that way I hate it

Love love love. I absolutely loved this book! I didn’t wanna put it down at all. I hope there ends up being a sequel to this book! I can’t wait to read more stories Natasha has written

Excellent.. X

Amanda fisher. Gotta say, I was a little disappointed with this one. Now I read the back of the book and was intrigued. It started off okay and I was able to figure out the twist before it happened, but that ending was pretty bad and the book didn’t pull me in like all her others have.

SO GOOD.. not gonna lie, i need a sequel to this book ASAP!!!!! i might die if i don’t know what happens after!!

Amazing. I didn’t too much care about the beginning like idk I just wasn’t too interested in it from the start but I kept reading an then it started getting good and just kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. The ending was sad, I wish it would have ended a little better but all around an amazing book !! 10/10

Hard finishing. I haven’t yet finished this one and don’t know if I ever will. This is such a tough read as far as keeping me engaged. It almost feels like the book is just dragging on and lacking getting to the point. I need to know what happens at the end so hopefully I’ll find the desire to finish.

My least favorite by her. It was a very tough read, very hard to get through. It wasn’t very suspenseful. It had a very slow start. I don’t feel like it even really got started until 2/3 of the book. At about 2/3 of the book, it was really good! Such an unexpected ending. Great for those who like unhappy endings, just like most of Natasha’s books.

Good but the ending 🤔. Ok this book was amazing all and all. The characters were good but the ending really threw me off. I was confused as what happened and would want to know why it ended the way it did? Overall great book ending was just confusing though

Waste of time. I WANT MY MONEY BACKK!! WHAT A WASTE OF MONEY AND TIME!!!

Worst ending I have ever read.. At first the book was great and really kept me on the edge of my seat waiting to see what would happen. Towards the climax I had high hopes, but it was like the story ended abruptly and terribly. This was possibly one of the worst endings to a story I have ever read. I do NOT recommend this book at all. The Cellar, on the other hand, was superb!

The ending. I loved this entire book except the ending. I thought it was going to show the outcome of the one twins actions and it did not.

Awful. Waste of time. I normally love Natasha Preston books but this was terrible. So unrealistic and has an open ending, which is irritating. I never leave book reviews but it was that bad

Best Thriller!. This was a great horror novel. from the get-go, you already know that Iris is the evil twin, but your constantly surprised by how far she goes to destroy her sisters life. It’s imaginative and well thought out. Be warned: it isn’t a good book for you if you aren’t a fan of horror novels.

Good book. Me and my girlfriend been reading this together off and on and I can’t argue about the book at all.

Recommend. I don’t like the ending and would love to see another book following the events. But the book overall was great and will keep you reading and not wanting to put it down.

Terrible ending. This book had a terrible ending!! You mean to tell me they evil twin just wins after everything? Clearly this needs to be re-written. Such a waste of money & time, I’ll take a refund.

Natasha Preston is her. i don’t need to say anything other than i’m speechless, and dying inside because i need to know what happened after

Horrible Ending. I liked the book! But the ending was horrible. There has to be a sequel to it or something.
