Great Story with abrupt end. Great character building and setting but it just ended. Major crises is revealed and then left unresolved. Left it feeling incomplete. The first 2/3rds of the book are 5 stars.

In the Viscounts Arms. I loved this story but was disappointed that it ended so sudden. An epilogue would have been nice.

Just so so. If you’re completely bored, probably a good enough time pass but nothing exceptional

Boring. Way too long & way too boring.

Too wordy. It could have been better with fewer words and less drawn out which I normally would not finish a book like that but I still really enjoyed it and so was worth the read.

Ok. Somewhat long winded story.

Sweet story, passionate romance. I was completely taken in by Simon and Octavia’s love story, as well as the love that develops between them for Leah. The characters were well-written and their romance was built on love more than lust. I would not, however, call this a “clean” romance, but rather a “wholesome” romance—as there are a few passionate embraces throughout and one sex scene—but the storyline itself is full of integrity and virtue. If you’re more into clean romances like me, I would skip through the one scene and read the rest because it really is worth it. 4 out of 5 stars!

Long winded, boring and stuffy. Very, very boring. Absolutely nothing happens and the “spice” that does happen isn’t worth the wait.

Amazing!. This is one of the best historical romance novels I’ve read in a long time. To those who commented that the story was long-winded, I disagree. The plot was planned out well and each part of it was enjoyable — not at all boring. This book featured a hero who doesn’t harbor some awful, tragic secret from his past (very refreshing) and the romance doesn’t even necessarily begin from a place of lust. It all develops very naturally, and I absolutely love and recommend this book!

Is Love Possible. The 1860s were structured for separation in class and appropriate behavior.How could a titled have a marriage relationship with someone thought to be below them.Mis tresses were allowed but could friendship or true love be obtained against the norms of the time.

Didn’t make sense. It seemed at first she was meek and proper then all of a sudden she was initiating a kiss. Had potential but was poorly written Felt like it dragged on and didn’t really see the chemistry between them. Found it really boring frankly

Great start to a new series. A beautifully woven tale of the relationship between three sisters, memories of their unconventional, deceased parents and the eldest sisters’ steps to provide for her sisters and forge a new life for herself. It is also the tale of a lonely little girl in the care of her loving uncle. Both are struggling to get past their losses. Is Leah simply and out-of-control hellion or a child misunderstood? Will the new governess be able to provide the missing pieces they both need before her young charge succeeds in getting rid of her? I really appreciated how the author let the story unfold slowly, naturally rather than resorting to the all too common instant love and acceptance found in many novels.
