Best series ever!. OH.MY.GOODNESS! This was my first book by Emily Goodwin and it most definitely will not be my last!! I fell hard for this story and these characters. The world Emily Goodwin created was so magical. Reading this book was like watching a movie play out in front of me. I could picture everything so vividly, while also having the creative space to make the world my own as well. Callie is such a tough, bada**, women and I LOVE it!! Callie is someone I could picture myself being best friends with. I mean, come on, she’s tough, loyal, loves to read, is a witch, what’s not to love! And Lucas...my goodness this gorgeous specimen. Lucas is not only attractive physically, but his whole demeanor calls to me. He’s fiercely loyal to those he loves, he’s a gentleman, he’s a sexy as sin vampire with a dirty mouth, and is everything you could want in a man, undead or not. The chemistry between Callie and Lucas is off the charts. Their chemistry is so strong, so all-consuming, so fierce. Their instant attraction turned into so much more. Their protectiveness and loyalty to one another is breathtaking. To see how they interact on a regular, how they open themselves up after staying closed off for so long is beautiful. But, particularly, seeing how they fill this emptiness in each other they never thought they’d fill is stunning. I cannot say enough incredible things about this book. I am chomping at the bit for book 2!

Loved this. I loved how different the relationship between Lucas and Callie was. It wasn’t the typical brooding “I don’t like you, but I’m attracted to you, and I don’t want to fall in love with you but I do anyways” kind of relationship. Reading this was so refreshing and I can’t wait to read the rest of the series.

Excellent. It takes a lot for me to really get into a book. But this, 2 pages in and I was hooked. Immediately after i finished the 1st book, i bought the 2nd one. And I will do so for the rest of the series. This is my new favorite series!! ❤️❤️

Addicted!. So I downloaded this at one point and didn’t bother remembering the description or even looking at it when I finally decided to read it. And MAN it did NOT disappoint! I am so incredibly addicted to this series I read this book in 12 hours and there second book in 7. Seriously I cannot get enough. Finally a good supernatural romance/action book that isn’t for teens or involving high school melodramatics. I can’t wait to read the rest of the series.

I want more!. 4.5 Stars I loved this story didn’t take me long to be pulled in. Cassie is a witch that doesn’t fit with her normal family so she becomes the black sheep. Her passion is to hunt evil and she is darn good at it too. When she runs into a vampire, Lucas, she thinks he is just another blood sucking jerk. He was far from it. I fell in love with Lucas and the relationship between the two of them. They are perfect together and their relationship leaves you wanting more. This isn’t a cliffhanger but it does leave you on a slight hook for the next book. Definitely a series I want to continue reading.

Great story line to partner with the steam. The plot was very thought out. The spicy scenes definitely brought the heat and kept you on the edge of each page. Great fiction read!

Dead of Night. This book was an okay read. It could benefit from slightly more proofreading. My favorite parts were definitely the cats. While I appreciate the amount of queer subtext evident throughout the story, I find it still reinforces the idea that the community is only allowed to exist in ambiguity. I also felt that this book was made unnecessarily long by back and forth communications between multiple parties that just repeated information. The ending didn’t feel much like a conclusion, as it just, for lack of a better word, ends. After a while I actually started finding the sex scenes more comical than hot.

One of the best books I’ve ever read!!!!!. I love this book so much! The love, action, and mystery are so well written! Love the characters!! I would definitely recommend this book! Can’t wait to read the next book in the series!!

Good characters and great plot. I liked the MC but the other characters needed a bit more work. The plot was great as was the world building but I believe the supporting characters let things down a bit.

Lucas & Callie - part 1. Really enjoyed this story! The connection between Lucas and Callie - swoon! So many interesting aspects of this story: her three familiars, the academy, the demons & zombies. The story is woven together so well, even with the many twists and turns, that none of it seems over the top or too hard to believe. Very well written. Cliffhanger ending, but definitely planning on reading the next instalment to discover more!

Typical vampire/witch romance, not as juvenile or vapid as Twilight.. This is a standard vampire-witch relationship story. She’s incredibly and inextricably powerful, he’s very old and powerfully attractive, while some demonic creature is seeking her and killing other witches, yada yada yada. Soft porn is also present, but nothing too outré (though Granny might blush [or sigh and flutter her fan – depending on your Granny]). It’s not exactly boring, but I fell asleep in the middle of reading the book. However, I had less than four hours sleep for each of several days before, so you probably shouldn’t draw conclusions from that. I did manage to finish it later. It is at least better written than the usual offering, but does not relieve the tedium with any great measure of humor. I don’t expect to follow the rest of the series. I’d rather reread something from the Chronicles of Elantra or another October Daye novel, but that level of story-telling is rare. Unfortunately Sturgeon’s Rule applies everywhere.
