My Brother's Roommate by Kendall Ryan Book Summary

There are a few things you should know about my brother’s roommate.

Wolfie Cox is . . . complicated. Terminally sexy, and more importantly, he has an impressive stick lodged so far up his ass, he’s about as emotionally available as a chinchilla. Actually, that might be an insult to the chinchilla community.

So, naturally, I want to ride him like a bicycle.

He thinks I hate him. Mostly because I’ve led him to believe this. It’s easier than admitting the alternative.

And while Wolfie is about as soft and cuddly as a fork, I’m the opposite. A good girl. Reliable. Conscientious. Oh, and completely panicked about an upcoming work conference.

Wolfie’s usually allergic to altruism, so when my brother volun-tells him to help me out by escorting me to said conference where everyone else will have a plus-one . . . I say thanks, but no thanks. Surprisingly, Wolfie is unflinching about this. And that’s the story about how I got stuck in a hotel with my brother’s hot (grouchy) roommate.

Thank you for coming to my TED talk.

In all seriousness, this isn’t a game to me, and hormones aside, I need to impress my boss this week so the promotion I’ve worked hard for doesn’t get handed to his spineless nephew. But with Wolfie and me sharing a hotel bed, things get confusing quickly.

This is book two in the Frisky Business series, but each book can be read as a complete standalone.

Expect the Unexpected. Wolfie is the more mysterious of all the guys. Described as uptight and on edge. No one can seem to get close to him. He is a man who holds many secrets. Penelope is the sister of Wolfie’s roommate, Connor. She has had a crush on Wolfie for years. When he agrees to accompany her on her work retreat she sees that as her chance to get to know Wolfie a little better, if you know what I mean.(nudge nudge wink wink) Welp things don’t go as planned and Wolfie turns down Penelope. But not for the reasons you may think. It’s not until these two are stuck together in a snow storm do things start happening between them. We learn more of Wolfie’s secrets and that Penelope is not as innocent as she seems. I’m liking the role reversal happening in this story. Classic Kendall Ryan introduces me to a new type of storyline, a new type of hero and a new type of heroine and I am here for it. 100% Expect the unexpected with this one. Oh and that subplot! I can tell more good things are going to come from this series. Sorry not sorry for the teaser.

It’s okay. I give it 3 stars ; I usually fly through books and can’t put them down this one just felt predictable and cheesy.

Great!!. Penelope needs a date to her company retreat. When her brother volunteers his friend and roommate Wolfie she jumps at the opportunity. She has had a crush on Wolfie for awhile. Wolfie is closed off and broken. He doesn’t think he is good enough for Penelope. Great romance. I liked how Wolfie’s issues were talked about frankly yet sensitively. Wonderful story. The series is great! Best read in order as the previous characters are mentioned and part of the current story.

Next guy from this group falls for the girl!. Next guy from this group falls for the girl! Wolfie and Penelope have always been attracted to each other, but because Wolfie lives with her brother, it doesn’t seem like the best idea. When Penelope needs a date to her work’s weekend retreat, her brother offers up Wolfie, unaware of the feelings they both have towards each other. Agreeing to fake date for the weekend, Wolfie really steps up to the plate for Penelope and puts her in a great standing for a promotion at work. But once they get home, things aren’t the same between them after they ventured into being together that weekend. As they struggle with spending time together and wanting more, the book takes a serious turn with Wolfie explaining why he struggles with having a relationship and his intimacy issues. Not many books write about it, and I’m happy that Kendall focused on it in this one because it really opens up this topic to discussion. Through all that, we also see Penelope deal with an unfair work environment, but it’s the spark she needs to get her life in order and determine what she really wants. In the end, this couple is able to work through everything and take a chance on a relationship with each other and I’m so happy because these two deserve their HEA! I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Great read!. Great book! Wolfie and Penelope are such a great couple! This was such a great read. I felt all their struggles and accomplishments and just adored everything about them!

Wolfie. The name wolfie reminded me of a dogs name. Not a sexy name for a sexy character. Still enjoyed the book.

Wolfie and Penelope!. I just love this series! Wolfie and Penelope are a great duo! So worth the read! Kendall never disappoints!

Ok… not great. Easy read

My Brothers Roommate. It’s a great book, I loved wolfie and Penelope there chemistry was of the charts. Wolfie is mysterious and Penelope was the only one he trusted. Wolfie had a hard childhood which is what led to him not believing he was good enough for Penelope . She had a crush on him for a long time but once wolfie let Penelope into his life they new they belonged together. This can be read as a standalone or with the series. It’s a great book I loved it. And recommend it.

Loved Wolfie. I absolutely loved Wolfie and Penelope. They were a fantastic couple and you could just feel the chemistry between these two. Wolfie had quite the past that made him feel unworthy of someone like Penelope but it was actually just who he needed. Penelope was a strong woman and she needed to be in order to be what got through to Wolfie. I loved the peeks into Connor’s (Penelope’s brother and Wolfie’s roommate) life and am really looking forward to his book next. This is a great series and I am enjoying each book.

Wolfgang Stole My Heart. As roommate to her big brother, Wolfgang Cox has been a fixture in Penelope Blake's life for a long time. One thing has become clear for her, and that's that she's ready to know him better. She's not looking for anything too complicated, but she does know what she wants, and it's Wolfie. Wolfgang Cox has been hiding some pretty heavy stuff behind that gruff exterior, parts of himself that he hasn't shared with anyone. Wolfie is an all work, little play kind of guy, staying far away from intimacy and relationships. As far as he's concerned, it's better that way. Well, I wanted Wolfie's book, and Kendall delivered very nicely. What can I say, I like a complicated man. I really appreciated the way that Kendall handled some potentially difficult subject matter, recognizing the fact that men can be victims, too, and offering a safe space for healing to take place. MY BROTHER'S ROOMMATE offered the flip side of a familiar tale, and it was extremely well done. All serious stuff aside, there is plenty of steam in this story, and plenty of romance, with enough of a departure from the norm to keep things interesting. Penelope and Wolfie make a great team and couple, and following them to their HEA made for a very enjoyable read. Next up, THE STUD NEXT DOOR, and I am more than ready, because Connor's back story has got me ready and waiting to see what's next for him. ❤️

Amazing!. Loved it! Can wait to read the next two in the series!

Slight disappointment!. I love Ryan’s books but something about this story reminded me of her last book series. The premise feels way to familiar, even her character descriptions seem the same. I still enjoyed it although I wish she’d change it up.

Loved everything about this book. Book 2 in the Frisky Business Series and this is Wolfie and Penelope’s story and their tale is a great addition to the series of stand-alone’s. Penelope needs a date for her company’s retreat, everyone is bringing their partners and she doesn’t want to be the odd one out but the last thing she expects is for her brother to offer up his roommate to escort her on the trip. Wolfie is complicated and isn’t looking for love so being Penelope’s plus one for the weekend should be easy right....wrong....turns out spending time together has these two realising they have hidden feelings for each other but crossing the line could ruin so many things. Will they take a chance and risk friendships, guess you need to read the book to find that out. This couple are perfect together, they compliment and complete each other, his weaknesses are her strengths and vice versa , the chemistry is sizzling and the banter is witty but it’s watching these two grow and they get to really know other that takes this book to another level. I loved everything about this book and I highly recommend it.

Entertaining. This is the second book in the Frisky Business Series and is Wolfie and Penelope’s story and is an entertaining read that ticked a lot of the boxes for me. When Penelope needs a date for her company’s retreat, she has no intention of being the only one without a partner. When her brother volunteers his roommate to accompany her you just know that it is all about to happen. Neither of them realize that this weekend will change everything. Complications arise hen they both realize that they are attracted to one another, but hat happens when lines are crossed? Will it ruin friendships? The chemistry between Wolfie and Penelope is too hard to ignore, the banter between them funny and it was fun to watch as their relationship developed. This as a heart arming romantic read that I enjoyed.

A beautiful story!. My Brothers Roommate is Wolfie and Penelope’s story. He is also in business with her brother Connor along with their mates. This story is an emotional one. Wolfie struggles with intimacy and relationships are not in his radar. When hes invited by Penelope to attend her work retreat, needless to say these two do become closer. They both have to make some important decisions, is there potential for a future or will Wolfies past hinder everything they hope for. I felt that Penelope was a caring woman with a beautiful heart, can she help Wolfie to open up? My heart was in my throat in certain moments and I really hoped for a happy ending. A beautiful story.

Enjoyable read. This was an enjoyable read. Past histories, circumstances and mutual interest all convene for an eventful matching, yet other issues highlight the differences. Long time friends and changing relationships make for a fun experience.
