A Court of Frost and Starlight Book Reviews
A Court of Frost and Starlight by Sarah J. Maas Book Summary
A tender addition to the #1 New York Times bestselling Court of Thorns and Roses series by Sarah J. Maas, bridging the events of A Court of Wings and Ruin and upcoming books.
Feyre, Rhysand, and their friends are still busy rebuilding the Night Court and the vastly altered world beyond, recovering from the war that changed everything. But Winter Solstice is finally approaching, and with it, the joy of a hard-earned reprieve.
Yet even the festive atmosphere can't keep the shadows of the past from looming. As Feyre navigates her first Winter Solstice as High Lady, her concern for those dearest to her deepens. They have more wounds than she anticipated-scars that will have a far-reaching impact on the future of their court.
Bridging the events of A Court of Wings and Ruin with the later books in the series, A Court of Frost and Starlight explores the far-reaching effects of a devastating war and the fierce love between friends.

Kinda disappointed.... Donāt get me wrong, I have LOVED this series so far. So much so, that I read first 4 books in a WEEK!! But this book was a little boring and had that feeling of when youāre watching a longtime TV series that has a big buildup to an event and afterwards...not much to look forward to. Also, some of the chapters were only 5 pages long so it was more like a 20 chapter book than 28. I wish this book wouldāve had more to it depth wise!
Short and sweet. I LOVED hearing from all the characters and their point of view! Iām so excited and sad for the last book. Iām not ready to let go of this world.
Love this. Such an amazing book! Short and sweet
Adorable. Sooooooo cute ugh loved it
lovely. i ALMOST didnāt read this book , ALMOST from the terrible reviews it seemed not worth reading so i havenāt in the months since I bought it but i sat down a said to myself it canāt be that bad you love these characters & the author an i DO NOT REGRET reading it itās a sweet glimpse into their everyday lives with different points of view from all characters an what each is feeling after a brutal war an 50 years of torment for some an a few years for others it showed a different side to each character an it took me into their everyday lives it was short an sweet an i loved it . i didnāt go into it thinking it was gonna be a bunch of drama or huge plot so if your looking to just glimpse into the lives after the war after all the pain an sorrow of Feyre , Rhysand , Cassian , Azriel , Morrigan , Amren , Elain & Nesta this will Be wonderful read . it made the characters seem human an relatable it also made them more real then any of the other books have ! it was a lovely read an i dont regret a moment of time or money i put into this book !
Donāt get me wrong... I LOVE this series but this book was disappointing for the cost. It was super short and did not have much additional content.
A nice emotional break. Great in between book to ease your mind from all the violence and crazy love stories. Ready for the last book but donāt want it to be over!
Pricing is :(. Too expensive for how short it is :( the cost is on par with the other significantly longer books in the series
*yawn*. This is 400 pages of Xmas shopping.
Rip off. I am so surprised at the price for this ā halfā sequel that had no real plotā¦. What a bore!
So cute. Not as action packed as the other books, but good for the plot! ā¤ļø
Satisfying. Excellent
Amazing. I love this series, and Sarah J. Maas is an absolute GENIUS. If you enjoy this you must read her other series. āØ
Peaceful. If youāre really into the series DO NOT SKIP. So many reviews saying itās a waste of money but ITS NOT. I love the characters and this book made me so happy for them. They deserve it. I love how Feyre gives so much back. They all have so so much trauma. Reading from each oneās perspective was different but itās was ok.Definitely short but itās still much needed after all the violence and death.
Perfect intermission. Donāt get me wrong, i love the action and anxiety the other books supply but this book just made me feel happy. happy for them, happy to be reading this series and happy for another book before it all ends. Definitely an underrated book, just gives you context and perspective, well done in my opinion, this book simply caresses you sweetly as Rhys does to Feyre.
So good!. Some people didnāt like this book but I thought it was beautiful! To hear other stories and just to see them as a family without the battles. I loved it!
Lovely. So different than the previous books. Like a super long epilogue.
The perfect appetizer. Iām excited for the next book
A nice break!. This book was a much needed break from the action. Just gave me Christmas hallmark movie vibes which was kind of refreshing after having constant anxiety in the past books. definitely not the best book of the series by ANY means, but still good!
Itās important to understand what this is before you start reading it.. This book gets a lot of hate, but I enjoyed it. I think itās important to go into it with the understanding that itās not like the previous 3 books. It doesnāt further the plot line in any way, but itās just a nice quick glimpse of what their love is like during a time when their lives arenāt on the line. I can understand being disappointed in it if you didnāt know what to expect beforehand, and can see how it would seem āpointlessā since nothing exciting is really happening. But if youāre a person who just wants a little more of the love story without the action & danger, itās a nice expanded happy ending to the previous book.
Loved it. I loved this book - I thought it was perfectly placed after the 3rd book, a nice little reprieve to get to know the characters more. On to the next!
Good but confusing. I loved this whole series and this was still an enjoyable read, however this book constantly changes views of who is narrating and it gets a little confusing for sure.
Poor, but very wealthy Feyre.. I love this family but Feyre talking about how sad she was because Rhys was wealthy annoyed me just a little. If you are going to be a material girl. Be a material girlā¦
Eh skip it .. Donāt get me wrong , absolutely LOVE the series but this was such a boring book . I really fought to get through it . A lot of it didnāt further any plot points and just took so long to have random convos . Skipping it wouldnāt miss anything . The 2 Star is I liked having different viewpoints . Besides that not worth it .
Love the seriesā¦ hate kernel. These books are amazing. Iāve finished 3 in the last 3 days. But seriously, for the love of god, please tell me she stops using the word ākernelā in her other books. I feel like I canāt make it a single page without seeing this word. āA kernel of power,ā sure. But āa kernel of information,ā āa kernel of shattered glassāā¦??? There are other words. Please use them.
Pure Fluff. Honestly, skip this one. It doesnāt do anything to further any plot lines, it wasnāt very interesting, itās like the author had a quota to full. A waste of money.
Filler book. This one couldāve been skipped.
More. I want more of these stories
Just okay.. Eh. Felt unnecessary.
Cozy & Emotional. Short and beautiful š Kind of like a post war holiday book. Lots of emotion but wonderful coziness and hope of the future. I think the acknowledgment at the end really reels in the specialness of this book, for not only the author but for the readers as well.š
Ok. Love the series. Didn't think there was really a plot to this one though
Short but ok. Iām not sure this book on holiday tradition is needed .
Love. It was like a Christmas special :)
Great Gap Filler. A much needed character development bridge for this amazing story.
Great read. This was a good book/break.
A change of pace from the first 3 books. I love the characters so it wasnāt a bad read it was just slow and not as action packed as the others of course so just harder to get through.
Good insight. I bought this after reading the reviews. Iām glad I did and I enjoyed reading it. Iām not sure why so many are complaining that this was a waste? There is a disclaimer that states this isnāt a necessary book to read in the series. Itās just a closer, more intimate look into the characters. I started reading the next book first, then I went back and bought this one to read first. Iām glad I did actually because though itās not necessary, it does help to get a better grasp on what continues to happen in the next book. Plus whatās not to love about learning more from the characters youāve grown to love or loath?
FABULOUS AND BEAUTIFUL. Great writing and fantastic storytelling. I love this series and I am reading the next installment. Do purchase this series and enter a wonderful world and enjoy the experience. Pepper Rose Freeport New York February 12, 2022
Loved It!. This was a much tamer ACOTAR installment compared to Wings and Ruin, but I thoroughly enjoyed it regardless. I especially enjoyed the various POVs in this book. I donāt know if Iām ready yet to say goodbye to Rhys and Feyre just yet, but Iām hoping the next book will exceed my expectations!
Happiness! Finally!. This is a good insight into everyoneās life. Just a reminder that there is good and hope in the world, even after such gruesome events. We just have to find it.
Beautiful insight. I love how you get to know each character on such a deeper level. I know itās technically not important to the story line but I definitely suggesting to read it to understand why they think, say or do certain things.
Good but not great. Good but not great
Such a good series. I loved this last book even though it felt too short!
Meh. Still obsessed with the series but for me this was a very boring read. I craved the excitement of the other books and had to restart this book halfway through after putting it down and not being able to start up again.
MY HEART. UGH MY HEART IS ACHING!! I honestly am not sure why people don't like this book in the series, I felt like it was a breath of fresh air and it gave some insight into our beloved found family members & this was definitely not action packed like all of the other books in the series so it obviously isn't going to be THE BEST BOOK but it was beautiful to read and understand different POVS from all the characters we've learned to love! I'm so glad i didn't listen to the reviews and opted to read this instead of skip it. I CAN'T BELIEVE I AM ON TO THE LAST BOOK !!!! what am i going to do with myself with this series is over!
Fun quick read. I honestly loved it! Iāve read reviews where people were disappointed that it was dull or non-eventful but Iāve always felt like I wanted to know what happened at the end of a dramatic ending of a book. And we got it here!
Left unanswered questions. Iām glad I didnāt listen to the reviews saying how annoying nesta was or the drama between her and Rhys. Cause itās all understandable when you think of who nesta is and her story from the very beginning. The only thing I didnāt like is it left questions. Left possible threats and storylines die with the autumn court. Even the last chapter and last few pages had charters finally asking questions I had from book 1. And then they were still left unanswered. I could have went with another book to finish stories. What of Elain and Lucien? Or elain and Ax? Or the true story of Eris and Mor?
Frost and Starlight. Donāt get me wrong, this book is fantastic. It was a quick read and I enjoyed it. However, SO MUCH HAPPENS in the previous books so this one was slow to me. The writing is still great! The plot is still great! Just not as great as previous books :)
Boring. This book was very hard to read, I found myself bored through almost all of it. Out of the whole series I would say you can skip this one.
Loved. A lot of reviews are saying this book was boring or hard to follow, but I loved the different viewpoints from other characters. I didnāt find it boring at all. In fact, I found it the opposite. It was a nice breath of fresh air to see how the court and family are adjusting to life after the war š¤

Amazing. Another great book to the series I still cannot stop reading these novels. Although this is the smallest of the book series, it is packed just as much information and character development that the other ones have. I cannot get enough of these books
Excellent read. Devoured this book
Such a good series. Such another good book, but kind of had a hard time getting into this one! Still kept me reading though!
Great filler. Was an easy read and enjoyable with all the favourites
š¤š½š. Very good book. Enjoyed the different perspectives. just wanted a little more action. Nonetheless, worth it.
