LEFT TO DIE is book #1 in a new FBI thriller series by USA Today bestselling author Blake Pierce, whose #1 bestseller Once Gone (Book #1) (a free download) has received over 1,000 five star reviews.

FBI special agent Adele Sharp is a German-and-French raised American with triple citizenship—and an invaluable asset in bringing criminals to justice as they cross American and European borders.

When a serial killer case spanning three U.S. states goes cold, Adele returns to San Francisco and to the man she hopes to marry. But after a shocking twist, a new lead surfaces and Adele is dispatched to Paris, to lead an international manhunt.

Adele returns to the Europe of her childhood, where familiar Parisian streets, old friends from the DGSI and her estranged father reignite her dormant obsession with solving her own mother’s murder. All the while she must hunt down the diabolical killer, must enter the dark canals of his psychotic mind to know where he will strike next—and save the next victim before it’s too late.

An action-packed mystery series of international intrigue and riveting suspense, LEFT TO DIE will have you turning pages late into the night.

Really good. This was a great suspenseful thriller. This is book 1 of An Adele Sharp Mystery series. This is a very well written book with well-developed characters. The story pulled me in from the start and kept me hooked to the end. Blake Pierce is a great author and I’m looking forward to reading the next book. I recommend reading. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Worth every minute!. This book was absolutely phenomenal! I’m not a big reader at all and am actually foreign so had a bit of a worry on how reading in English would go for me. But this book was great. Kept me hooked the entire time and the end is just filled with action and you can feel the adrenaline going! I couldn’t resist but get the next book! The author is extremely descriptive, putting you into the scene as if you’re right there with the character!

Left To Die. FBI Agent Adele Sharp is uniquely positioned to pursue suspects from USA to France to Germany because she is a citizen of all these countries. The plot was intriguing but the writing was clunky. Adele is expecting a proposal in the first chapter but gets dumped instead. The fiancé never crosses her mind again. Characters’ physical traits are described at length but the conversations are very flat and characters’ inner lives/motives seem unimportant. Character development is scarce. The serial killer held my interest. Adele did not.

Gripping. Kept one’s attention and didn’t disappoint!

Left to Die. Probably one of the best mysteries I’ve read in a very long time!!!! Excellent

Good book but needs better editing. I enjoy these books, but the editing is not great. Many grammatical errors throughout the book.

Very interesting start to finish. This book is really good, well written and engaging. Very good characters hold your interest throughout.

exciting. every chapter had me on my toes although the ending had its ups and downs it all came together in the end. highly recommend

Great Book. I enjoyed this book

Left to Die.. I enjoyed the characters and adventures. I could not put the book down. It was a nice get away for me.

Must read. This book kept me interested the entire time. The end was beautiful too.

Fast moving story. A woman detective with ghosts in her past chases a serial killer across countries. Professionally and personally involved with the killer she desperately hopes she can stop him.

Left to Die 1. Great, Book I look forward to reading the series

Another unique suspenseful read from Blake!. Another unique suspenseful read from Blake! Adele is an FBI agent with a unique background as she holds citizenship in the US, France, and Germany. As she tracks a killer in the US, she finds out that he has actually fled the country after her getting close to finding him and since she has citizenship in France, she follows him there. In France, she reconnects with her old employer and the life she abruptly left back there, and joins forces with them to take the killer down. Then, as she closes in on him again, he flees to Germany, where Adele again has the advantage of having citizenship, and follows him again. The premise and execution of this was a little strange to me, but overall I followed along the storyline. Something I wish that we had gotten more information on though is what happened to Adele’s mother and the reason for her abrupt and unpleasant departure from France. Hoping to find out in the coming books! I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Left To Die. Loved the book. You never disappoint. I have read many of your books they keep you in suspense till the end. As a book nut and at this time in life. I Thank You!

Just Mediocre. Book was not that interesting, stale, repetitive and seemed to be missing a foundation. Glad I didnt pay for this and wont be reading any others. Too many other better books out there.

Riveting!. An Excellent read! Well written and very engaging. I think I’ve found a new author!

Yes. Yes

love. after just 2 pages couldn’t stop reading

Left to Die. Really enjoyed this book. Couldn’t put it down. Good characters and a good story. Recommend it to everyone.

Dogs. Is death spooky I think it is bc u die forever and peopl are sad bc u cant see them anymore now I’m sad do u like dogs they r cute dogs never die I like them

Left to die. Loved this book

Recommend!. Another fast paced thriller from Pierce. I wish some aspects of the story would have wrapped up better, since I’m sure they won’t be revisited in a future book. Overall, it’s a great unpredictable read!

Appropriate. A great story, sure to be a fabulous series .

Great read. Haven’t read a book in years, downloaded this one and read it in 5 days! Loved it!

Suspenseful. I loved the main character. Very tough gal.

Page turner!. Good quick read that keeps the reader engaged and wanting more.

Good. Full of grammatical mistakes…. But the storyline is good….

Left To Die. Great thriller. Loved the characters!

Murder Mystery in three countries. Agent Sharp travels across three countries to solve the murder of three people and attempted murder of another in this intriguing murder mystery. Well written.

Pierce does it again!. This is a wonderful beginning to an excellent new series! Pierce delivers well developed characters and leaves you wanting to see more of Adele Sharp.

Mediocre writing and disjointed. This book started out seemingly like it would be terrific. The storyline was unfortunately quite undeveloped and then just painful with connections made too quickly that simply did not seem plausible. This Blake Pierce was a real miss.

Left to Die. Books where a loved one always seems to get in the way are disappointing. To be so security conscious, Agent Sharp’s father should have known something was amiss when no one was at the door.

Left to die. Another could not put down read. Excellent story line with satisfying ending. Well done!!!

Left to die. Pretty good book kept me on my toes looking for the next page to start reading again. Ole grandma

Left To Die. Wow I could not stop reading and wondering what happens next!

Page turner. Could not put this one down! On to Book 2!!!

Left To Die - should have. I am a big fan of Blake Pierce but I won’t bother with this series. Too much blah, blah, blah. I flipped through pages of mundane blather that had nothing to do with solving the murders. It took forever to get to the grit of the story. I suppose the writer was introducing his new characters. I didn’t like any of them actually. I didn’t warm up to them. And the bouncing back and forth between languages was annoying.

Left to Die. Didn’t want to put it down!

Left to die. Excellent

Left to Die. I love reading books written by Blake Pierce. This book was a great read. I have many of his books. Two complete series and many singles. This book was well written, with a good story line that was followed thru the entire book. It was real, some of the characters, I have meet many times in my life. I would recommend this book to anyone who wants to read a book with murder mayhem and reality. I am starting on the first book in this series and then on to the third and if these are as goo as “Left to Die” I will finish up the series.

Left to die. Well written mystery with good suspense and interesting characters.

Awesome. Couldn’t put it down

Greatly written.. Very detailed and explained without unnecessary information. I was expecting more plot twists. It was rather predictable towards the end, but very enjoyable. I'd recommend it.

Left To Die. Enjoyed it. Liked that at the end Adele and her Dad softened.

Left to Die. Kept me on the edge of my seat. Always take some very deep inhales with the suspense and twists in his books. Enjoy reading them. Thank you

Excellent!. Except for some swearing, an excellent cozy mystery. I look forward to upcoming books by this author!

Left to Die. A very good read. Thoroughly enjoyed it. Father’s description and relationship was identical to my family.

Yikes. I made it about 2 pages in. This stinks of “woman written by a man,” so the one star is for if you’d like a good laugh at how stupid and cringe-y the writing is.

OMG. TRY THE ADUIO ITS SO GGOOOOOOOD

Detective thriller. Great story telling that kept me on the edge of my seat all the way through. Can’t wait for the next one!!

Good. Good reading

A. Its so fascinating ... i just love the way of writing

Nice read introducing an interesting character. 🙂

Captivating. This books just grabs you in a way and doesn’t want to let go. A great story with a lot of intrigue around the characters. Can’t wait to read the next ones and find out how the series develops.

Awful. No idea if this book is actually any good because the audio version is so awful. The narrator really struggles with the French accent and ends up speaking “vaguely foreign”. Funny at first but incredibly annoying after a while!

One of the best. Top ten book love it so much, i won’t lie i was expecting a bit more at the climax but it was still satisfactory

Could be much better.. Overall the plot is fine but the characters are underdeveloped with limited or no backstory - especially the antagonist. The lack of depth makes it difficult to connect with the characters. The ‘workings’ of some of the investigations did not feel authentic or believable (why was the only surviving victim not a main focus? And why wouldn’t you request more backup when you know you are in pursuit of a murderer alone?) There are also many ‘page-fillers’ that seem to drag on while contributing very little to the actual story. Could do with more editing and spell check. It is the first book in this series, perhaps the others get better.

A new Series. The book is riveting and different from his normal stories that author Blake has written. The storyline is based on an International killer and it requires a FBI agent who can speak fluently the required languages to solve the murders. Adele must face her past in order to solve the mystery. I certainly look forward to the sequels to this first book based o. Adele Sharp. I received the book free and the review is of my own thoughts and reactions.

Left To Die. Silly beyond measure

Excellent read. Liked the flirting agent Dark had with her French work partner and the suspense when the killer was about to kill

No review, but NOTE TO SELF. Has many other free books if I like this book and it’s sequel (what I have already)

I’m struggling. Finding it a bit confusing. Very different to Blake’s other work. Figuring out the different French police systems is one thing but it’s made so much harder when calling one of the characters 3 different names; John, Renee and Agent Renee. And I’m still unsure as to why the other French agent lady was in the cafe during the interview with Marions friends? I couldn’t follow that either. I have read and adored every other series from Blake, i recommend all of her work to anyone I meet that enjoys reading, and I was so looking forward to this new series. Hopefully book 2 is easier to follow.

Four and a half stars. They say that Justice moves rather slowly, FBI agent Adele Sharp joined the bureau and became a profiler so she could search for her mother’s killer. After investigating a series of deaths, she believes she finally has him but the trail stops. It starts up again in Europe and after flying to France she determines that the suspect isn’t an American tourist, he is an European who was committing murders while travelling in America. As she gets closer to catching the killer, it dawns on her that he is also after her.

Left to Die. Fast paced international multi country serial killer chased by FBI and hooks up with a hunk in France. Lots of loose ends around crimes. Book was more about setting up story lines for future series.

Left to die. Excellent. Looking forward to next one.

Such an easy read. Very interesting read
