Second Chance at Love. When I met Isaac in the last book I thought he was a beach bum lifeguard surfer mooching off his friends and pining for his ex-girlfriend who left him. But he reveals hidden depths and secrets in this book that show there is so much more to him. Leanne dreamed of being a Hollywood screen writer and gets her chance to work with someone in the business. Yes, she stopped communicating with Issac when she was in LA, but she also didn’t deserve all the guilt trips she received when she came back. The residents of Starlight Ridge form their own opinions and meddle which adds to the humor in the book. The path to a second chance at love between Leanne and Issac does not run smooth and is filled with misunderstandings and injuries.

Wonderful. Resisting Love is a sweet and clean second chance romance. I adore the realistic characters and ‘catching up’ with them from the first book is fun. They have some real-world problems that many can relate to. The story is well written and flows nicely with it’s twists keeping me completely engrossed. The narrator did a wonderful job in her performance.

A story about second chances. This story is about second chances in love and in life. Though it definitely is a stand alone, if you read and/or listened to book one in the series, you meet Isaac Larson. The local life guard and surfer enthusiast. Isaac lives a very simple life and still misses the girl that left him and the town to pursue her dreams in LA. Instead of being gone for the summer she left and never came back . A couple of years later, Leanne Warner realizes that LA is not what she hope it would be, and returns home . Though the town is ready to have a wedding, these two realize that the past is interfering with their present and likely their future. But as the friendship rekindles, so do the feelings. Will these two find their HEA or will LA come back to sweep Leanne off her feet and away from Starlight Ridge and Isaac? This was a sweet story about a couple rediscovering each other and themselves . As well as how it feels living in a small town.

Resisting Love. Such a Lovely read. Lots going on in the beginning of the story, that got me up to date as to what had happened and got me into the part where the Characters were again in the small coastal town, with lots of answers being wanted. The characters are relatable and their stories woven through each book so well I couldn’t stop reading until I had finished them all! Resisting Love is a book about your one “true love” and second chances. A page turner that you won’t want to put down. Kat’s books are light hearted and an easy read. I’m anxiously awaiting her next book!

Overcomers. This is a good story. Besides the romance, it deals with the problem of depression. Isaac & Leanne have issues to resolve before they get back together. They do have the whole town rooting for them.

Great contemporary romance. This is the second book in the Starlight Ridge series. It's a clean love story about second chances. In this fun to read story, we get reacquainted with some of the characters from the first book, but you can completely read and enjoy this book without having read the first book. In the first book, I thought that Isaac was a bit unusual. In this book, I found out that his longtime love had left for a 3 month internship in LA, but it's been over two years. Not only has she not returned, she has cut off communication with him. He is heartbroken and unwilling to have a relationship with any other woman. When Leanne decides to go home, she doesn't tell anyone. The townspeople are ready to see a wedding, but Isaac really doesn't want to start up their relationship again. He also has a secret that he hasn't shared with anyone. The story is well told. The characters are wonderful. I really enjoyed reading this story as well as the first one. I highly recommend it to lovers of contemporary, realistic love stories.
