repetitive. This book can be summed up in few sentences, if not, a paragraph. First few pages to the first chapter says it all. Read the sample, it's good enough. There's really nothing more to it.

Matter of fact. It is indeed a down to earth, wake me up from my slumber , matter of fact kind of book. I am single and certainly disagreed with the writer initially but Lori is spot on. It's almost as if we have had lunch together and discussed our dating life. Sooooo many mistakes, unrealistic expectations etc etc. having said that you can still be single and happy.

Lovely. I stumbled upon this book via FB ad and I couldn’t put it down! I shared it to all of my girlfriends who are now in their late 20s! They need this NOW!!! Before it’s too late, thank you for sharing this book with the world! I’m a gay man so it’s a little different for me but I GET IT. Thank you

Heart pounding experiences 😧. Being a woman, having a similar situation, as this story.... sometimes a woman has to be sure of herself, also! This book is straight to the way things should be in real life, but maybe there is more than just her decision! Wouldn’t life be a piece of cake if it was written by someone else, with the happily ever after..... but wait there’s needs to be some suspense, romance and hot sweaty love making, I know from a woman of my own heart, there will be a awesome ending, or should I say a new exciting beginning❤️ Smurfetts Always 🙏🏼 For A Good Ending in Her Villlage ( the village of hope)

Five Stars!. Hands down the best book on dating and relationships I've ever read. I'm 55 now and would give anything if I'd had this book when I was 25. I've made a lot of bad choices. Young women - listen to Lori!

Read this book. I was having doubts in my first year of marriage, wondering if I had made the right decision — this book whipped me back to reality — yes, I had chosen the things that were most important, thankfully. This is an important book to read not only because if you’re single and are looking for a partner, but also if you’re in a relationship/married and are questioning if you should stick it out. Great read.

A must read for all single women!. I think the author, Lori Gottlieb, puts dating and marriage into perspective, that we can’t have-it-all in the person we marry. there is no person out there that will check off everything on your list, and that compromise is a must! Those women that are considered to “settle” didn’t settle. They have what they wanted, while we are still looking for Mr. Perfect. She writes very well, and it is fun to read. I think this is great for those that are trying to find out why they are not married yet, and need some realistic insight.

Eye opening. A great book to make you really open your eyes to how you should be dating. Really made a lot of sense and I am so glad I took the time to read this book.

Realistic and helpful.. I enjoyed reading this very comprehensive book about dating, love, and having realistic expectations about marriage. The book utilized the view points of people from various age groups, backgrounds, and walks of life, and ultimately all the expert and layperson advice boiled down to the same point: happiness exists for those who are not so overly critical that they miss it. I am 28 and a self admitted perfectionist. I found the reminders of this book to be timely and very helpful as I approach my thinking about the future. While every piece of advice may not have been applicable to me, there are still plenty of gems to be found for everyone at every stage of relationship. I will definitely be encouraging my friends to read this book, and I encourage anyone reading this review to do the same.

Good book!. This book is amazing from start to finish. It was very insightful and very helpful for me. This is one of the best books I’ve read in a really long time. I had a hard time putting it down. The research, the interviews, the personal accounts, the content all really good and consistent. The title of the book is controversial and maybe discouraging to some, but the content is realistic and practical. I recommend this books to women and men in their early 20s and up that want fulfilling long term relationships. It’s a guide to “getting of your high horse and into good long lasting relationships” to some it up.

Thought-provoking. Loved it. Some single women may get offended at what the author has to say,but it's all true and very helpful information.

So happy I read this!. When I read Lori's article in the Atlantic, I was shocked, saddened, and a little angry. Fortunately, it left me hungry for more. I wanted to read the entire story before deciding exactly how I felt about her theories, learnings, and advice. Now, it all makes absolute sense and I completely agree with her. This book is not about settling at all! It's not offensive or even scary which was the impression the article gave me. It's simply a reality check for us 20 and 30 year old women. I saw myself in so many of the anecdotes and I feel enlightened!
