For the 8th time.... I've read it 8 times and I am still mesmerized by the literary power of Mario Puzo. The book will forever be in my library as I know this wont be the last time that I'll be reading it.

SUPERB!!!. I've seen the movie many times before I read the book, and that really helped the book come alive for me. The scenarios have actually made me rethink my response to life situations in general.

The movie was better. The movie was a poor adaptation but told the story of The Godfather a lot better. This book was unfocused, gave details that were not important to the story, had plots that did not matter and characters who really did not serve a purpose other than to pad the pages. It would have been better as a short story with the focus on Michael and The Godfather.

My New Favorite Book. We've all seen the movie either in it's entirety or in pieces too many times to count. But to read this classic for the first time you really can appreciate the masterful interconnection between two artists, Puzzo and Copolla. This book is a must read.

My all time favorite book. After watching & enjoying The Godfather trilogy people kept telling me you have to read the book, you have to read the book, So I finally went out & bought it & I was hooked after reading just a few pages, It gives you so much more information on the characters & plot than the movie did, which I'm sure was due to time constraint, If you liked the movie you will love the book, it's a must read.

The Godfather. The best motion picture of all time. I have the dialogue committed to memory having seen it dozens of times but the book was somehow better. If it were possible I would have given it ten stars.

Perfection. I’ve read it three times over the years and it’s always enjoyable. The characters, plot and realism pull you in from beginning to end. Mario Puzo makes you believe that these ruthless, murderous Mafia family members are really good guys at heart. One of my all-time favorite books.

The Godfather. I've never been much of a reader. I'm more of a movie watcher. But I just finished reading "The Godfather" for what has to be the twelfth time, and enjoyed it just as much as the first. Upon each re-reading, I seem to always manage to unearth some tasty little morsel that I missed in earlier readings. The novel is just that rich in detail. I still remember the first time I saw the film with my wife of forty years (at the time, my girlfriend) at the Sunrise Drive-in in Valley Stream, New York. And the poor screening and tinny sound could not diminish a compelling and rewarding moviegoing experience, one I have also repeated many times over the years. An iconic novel masterfully translated into an equally masterful film. To Mario Puzo and Francis Ford Coppola: thanks for the memories, boys. I'll always be grateful.

Excellent book!. I have been watching The Godfather I, II, & III for over 20 years. Never read the book until now. I will probably read the book for te next 20!

Easy to download. Literature classic!

Still amazing every time I read it!. I have read this novel at least 5 times. In English, in Spanish. It is still the greatest work of fiction. Once I start it, I cannot stop. The characters are all interesting and even the evil ones, you learn to love them and respect them. The story is amazing, entertaining and engaging. Also the best guide for the corporate world... (Without the need of killing, of course :)

I liked the movie a lot more. I’ve watched the film hundreds of times and while this is a good book I can’t say it’s well written. Frankly the language is pretty sophomoric. A much better mob book that has better dialogue and is extremely well written is “The Friends of Eddie Cole”. I barely finished this book.

Amazing writing. The book itself is amazing. Great writing and the parts pertaining to Michael and family were so compelling I couldn't put it down. The only drawback to this book were the Jonny Fontane parts. I found Johnny's story incredibly boring and not captivating like the rest of the book. If you skip over his parts you don't miss anything important.

Literary History!. If you love the movie, the book will blow you away. It goes into greater detail, and elaborates on many minor characters. Anyone who grew up Italian can relate, and anybody else can thoroughly enjoy! A must read!
