Prequel to LWW. I want to make clear first of all that this is a good book. A very good book and I would recommend it. However if you, like me, come to read it years after reding The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe, it will change slightly the way you see the first book. I wonder why it isn't the first one in the series though...

Great book. I saw how it relates to the bible a lot and loved it! i'll probably read the others for projects.

Epic. I read this book and immediately learned how to fly. Now that i have read it twice, I can also teleport short distances!

One of my favorites!. C.S. Lewis was a man that had an encounter with Christ who would forever change his life towards a trajectory of the written word for Christ, children and adults. I grew up reading his Chronicles Of Narnia. They are entertaining and spiritually allegorical in its impact. I still, to this day, read them and I always will. I Highly recommend them! You won’t regret them!

Can’t stop reading!. I love the Narnia books and just want to read them a million times! But, as with all great books, it’s too short!

WOW!. My teacher had my classmates and i read this book as an asignment for school. To be honest, i thought this book was going to be kinda boring. To my suprise, it was not! This is one of the best books i have ever read! Its exciting and when you start reading you won't want to put this book down! If you like fantasy books, this book is for you!

Magicians Nephew Late Review. For starters, I have watched a couple of the movies before hand. Those who are along side of me are aware that they did not start the movie series with this book. However, this book though it may seem a bit quick at some points is a very solid story in the end. The story itself makes things that are apparent in the movies make more sense and gives the reader multiple epiphanies. The Magicians Nephew is a very solid and somewhat easy read, while laying the foundation that I felt the first couple movies were lacking.

Child's Fantasy for Adults. This is my review for the whole Narnia series. My wife and I read all the books to my son over 20 years ago when he was in Kindergarten. It's a story that will keep the child enthralled while the adults enjoy it completely, in a different way, with all it's moral messages. Fantasy at it's finest.

Magician's Nephew-Nice book!. Really enjoyed reading this book and had quite few "aha" moments. It explained some things I had noticed in the movies like the lamp post and wardrobe, that now make much more sense. It was nice to have all the characters properly introduced. Very nice intro to the series and I'm very much looking forward to reading all the rest of the Narnia books during 2012.

Nephew before Lion!. It's such a shame that more readers don't realize the hidden gems hiding in the less popular books from the Chronicles of Narnia. Any child who loved The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe will love The Magician's Nephew, as it is the first book and explains a lot of the oddities in the more famous second book.

One of my favorite books. I have read this book over and over for the past 15 years. It never gets old and it grasps onto you. Beautifully written. All of the marina books are. But this, this has to bet favorite.

I get it now. I am so happy that this book was recommend to me. It was so well written and answered my questions about Lewis' objective that I never full grasped from the movie.

Wonderful. I read this and the other six Narnia books when I was about five or six, and absolutely loved them. Now I'm thirteen, and I read his Perelandra last year. I was thrilled to find that it was just as good as these!!! I was so afraid I wouldn't like it.

Wonderful!. This is one of my favorites in the series in that it gives the background of how Narnia came to be, how the professor knew about Narnia in TLTW&TW, n the lamppost. It was wonderful to read this as an adult after loving TLTW&TW as a child.

Great Book. I read this book for a book report and I just couldn't put it down. It was exciting, magical, and entertaining. I highly recommend it to anyone who likes fiction.

Great first iPad book,. I remember reading these as a child... Now I have two of my own and besides Pooh this this the first book without pictures I've read them. The story is still just as enchanting as it was thirty years ago, even better to experience it again through the excitement of my children. Of course now my son (4) tells me to "pause" the book when he needs to get a glass of water... LOL... I now can highlight and use the dictionary to look up words we don't know and search and highlight in an assortment of virtual colors. Beautifully the story is the same... Now the book just takes batteries. Good or bad. Barns and Noble's days are numbered.

Fun classic. This is my favorite of the chronicles as it was a prequel before prequels were cool. I recommend starting with The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe (LWW). This story goes back and explains some of the other story. C. S. Lewis wrote this after LWW and I think it makes more sense to read in that order.

Great book!. The Magician's Nephew is a great book ,but at the beginning it really made you want to read the last page first and then give up on the rest of the book. Although the journey was the best part.

Best children's and Adult (for that matter) series ever written. C.S. Lewis is without a doubt, one of the most cherished writers that I have had the pleasure of reading from. My parents read this series to me and my brother long ago when we were young, I re-read them again in my early 20's and an reading them now to my young children. I have also read many of his books on Christianity And while we are of different faiths, I know he is an "honorary" member of mine. (he just doesn't know it yet , lol) .

Great Book, Don't Read it First. Start with "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe." Although this book is "first" chronologically in the story, it was the sixth book released, and the story is not meant to be experienced in strictly chronological order. Start with "The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe." You'll enjoy THIS book far more if you read it in the order it was released. The original order of release for the Narnia books is: 1. The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe 2. Prince Caspian 3. The Voyage of the Dawn Treader 4. The Silver Chair 5. The Horse and His Boy 6. The Magician's Nephew 7. The Last Battle

Hype for Narnia. This is the origin story for Narnia and the White Witch. Full of wonderful description and scenes once we reach Narnia, but the first 1/3 of the book was a bit of a snore for me.

Best book I️ have ever read.. Being the eleven year old that I am, I do not really love reading. The only books i usually read are sport books, but my mom suggested this book to me and I taken to another world just as the characters were.

While facing trials. I read today with the full intent that I would walk away with a lesson learned. What I fully expected was not what I saw coming in the end. The truth of this book rings true if your faithful until the end we will be saved.
