Te Rembrandt Affair. This is the best of the Gabriel Allon series. Easy to read, well documented. I enjoyed very much the description of how the market for stolen works of art functions and the usual reference to Swiss banks and the role they played during WW II, hiding assets from wealthy Jews.

ok but naive. certainly well written and entertaining but just like so many of his north america colleagues Silva falls into the trap of oversimplification and stereotyping

Exciting & fascinating Read!. As a former US case officer, I'm continually surprised at Daniel Silva's expertise in real world espionage trade craft. The backdrop of Gabriel Allon's non official cover as an art restorer engaging in very "black" clandestine operations is unique and makes for a compelling backdrop to his complex and highly readable stories! I'm looking forward to reading Silva's next book, "The Heist" coming out in July, 2014.

Fabulously entertaining. Great read; easy read. The commentary at the end of the book is quite informative!

Captivating. Intriguing characters (although you probably have to have read previous installments as well), well-paced plot. The final resolution however, was a bit too convenient.

Easy reading, exciting and enjoyable. Outcome however was weak, not believable. Quick read.

The Rembrandt Affair. I had a difficult time putting this one down. Had a bit of a hard time keeping some of the characters straight but this is a great story.

Great book. Great book one of his best recommend highly.

Another great story. Daniel Silva never fails to bring the reader into the story and feel like they were there during all of the events as a silent watcher.

Phenomenal!. Can’t wait for the next

The Rembrandt Affair. Another blockbuster by Daniel Silva International espionage sprinkled with high technology and good old-fashioned "gist to do the right thing", the only predictable piece of this masterpiece is the decision by Silva's always exciting protagonist, Gabriel Allon, to once again come out of retirement to serve his country, the world, everyone except himself. Attempts to recover a rare painting are but a minor sub-plot in this story, which proves to be accurate not only historically but also with respect to current events, which is both at the same time troubling and enlightening. One can only hope that the resources of multiple peace-loving nations are spent half as well as those used in this grandiose amalgam of high finance, politics, espionage and good old love. Everything written by this author has kept me spellbound for hours on end, and his talent for captivation of the reader has only increased over the course of his many novels. I cannot say this about more than a handful of authors, and most of them are no longer among the living. I take care not to reveal any of the details of the plot, because you will want to uncover these all on your own. Six stars for your latest success, Daniel!

Rembrandt aAffair. Good read

Lflora57. This book would not let me put it down! Now I must read all of them in the series...:o)...oh, the joys of reading a great mystery book by a great mystery writer...Many thanks Mr. Silva!

Drop Off. These stories are terrific however this particular one ended precipitously and left me wondering if I skipped a few chapters

The Rembrandt Affair. Daniel Silva is a mastermind at creating an espionage novel that you can’t put down! An incredible amount of research and time was invested in this incredible book.

Repetitive. How many times we have to read about a beautiful intelligent woman put in harms way and miraculously saved? This plot line is getting very tired. I am sure the series is very profitable and there is no desire to kill it, but is suffering from consumption of the imagination and in slow death mode.

Joan. Spellbinding!!!

Great evening reading. A great spy/mystery novel with all the right components: the hero, the story, the team, the evil guy, beautiful girls and a bit of history. Gabriel Allon did it again and as ever elegant and smart. A bit too much again about the Swiss shady history, but if you read Allon book the first time, it matters.

The rembrandt affair. Excellent book. Intriguing with historical references. Good clean ending.

The Rembrandt Affair. It's always nice when the good guys are very clever and win against the odds, but it's the author's insights the bring the rating to five stars.

Rembrant. Mr silva must have had a contract to fill. Not up to the quality of his others (he is one of my favorite authors). It was same old; same old.....

The Rembrandt Affair. This is the only novel I have read by this author. I expected more than I got. I would have edited it down by half. I am only an average student of current affairs but I was fairly familiar with topics that the author tells us he spent so much time researching. Listen up IRS, the travel and stays at four and five star hotels was necessary to paint a vivid picture and tax deductible.

The Rembrandt Affair. Best book I read all summer!!! Enuf said, Smoochie Pig loves it!

Loved it!. Have read most if not all Daniel Silva books and loved this book. Keep more Gabriel Alon books coming!

An amazing character. Since finding Daniel Silva, I have devoured every book. His ability to bring honest, tangible characters to life is remarkable. Gabriel Allon is one of my favorite of all time.

The Rembrandt affair. Came across the Daniel Silva novels after a radio interview. I purchased the first in the Gabriel Allon series the end of July on my iPad and have just finished this one. Not only do I consider the books a great read, I obviously have not been able to put down the whole series until I have read them all up to date. I truly hope that the author has not granted Gabriel his fondest wish to retire and that we will see more in this series. Thanks a wonderful read over the past weeks. I will now partake of Mr. Silva's other three books while eagerly awaiting Gabriel's next foray out of retirement.

What makes a book good?. For me, it's pretty simple: do I look forward to reading it very night? I certainly did. This book was a real pleasure to read. I recommend it.

Rembrandt Affair. On the edge of your seat good; tears at the end of the novel; a 5-star read and masterpiece like Gallon himself.

Well done!. Once again Daniel Silva delivers a spell binding yarn that transects history and current events, binding it with suspense.

The Rembrandt affair. Daniel silva never fails to engross a reader with his exquisite writing style, packed with information, historical data, intrigue, fast action and main characters with a conscience like the fabled Gabriel Allon.

Great read as always!. Great read as always!

The Rembrandt Affair. I very much enjoyed this book. It'd be a good idea for the reader to scan his last book (title?) as Silva refers to Ivan Korkoph (sp?) episode a lot. Also refresh your knowledge of his team's names. The book held together well and kept me anxiously turning the pages.

Probably his best book yet. This was superb throughout. Couldn't put it down. Full of well thought out suspense. Excellent writing and character development. Silva is one of the great literary writers of suspense. Very highly recommended!

Thrilling finish. The book starts off somewhat slow but accelerates towards the middle and never looks back. Loved the plot and the author's ability to weave so many interesting sub stories into one book. Definite a great read.

The Rembrandt affair. As always, great work

The Rembrandt affair. Fast paced, interesting and exciting... about a restoration expert who is drawn into a mysterious story about the nazis, the catholic church, a young Jewish girl.
