In 2004, Mark’s family added a new member to their bunch—a beautiful, Spaniel-mixed dog they named Sprite. With his beautiful face and soft, huggable fur, Sprite immediately bonded with the Levin family.
But on Halloween night, just three weeks after being adopted, Sprite collapsed and had to be rushed to the animal hospital in what would turn out to be the first of many such visits—and a difficult, heart-wrenching journey for the entire family.
Over the next two years, Sprite’s health deteriorated, but his spirit remained high and his beauty and grace continued to inspire, until the holiday season of 2006, when the Levin family had to say a final goodbye to their beloved pet. Spectacular!. Most heartfelt book I have read in a long time. Only a dog owner can truly appreciate the inmensurable love felt for and the unthinkable grief experienced by the loss of these creatures that steal our hearts. Reading about this intimate part of Mark Levin’s life and how he had the courage to share it with his readers made him become an even greater one in my eyes!
Rescuing Sprite. I loved this book, definitely, a page Turner, don't know why I hadn't read it before I did. I was in tears throughout the entire book it really touched my heart. I too am am a dog lover and have lost them too.
Great read!. This book gives good insight into rescuing an older dog. Anyone who has ever owned an older dog, or rescued will cry thru this book. I loved it!
Rescueing Sprite. I just wanted to say how much I love this book. I am a dog lover, and have been since I was little. I have had more than 20 dogs through my life. All different kinds of dogs. I have 2 now a 13 year old who is sick. And a 3 year old husky. This story resembles what I'm going through now. I read this story with tears and joy. If you are a dog lover like I am please read this book. It will make you cry but it will also warm your heart. I thank my friend Ron for telling me about this book. By reading this book it inspired to write my own book with my own story.
