Must read. Incredible. Everyone should read this at least once. Really interesting, gripping, compelling read.

Simple explanation of American Revolution. This manifest should be required reading in every high school/college course where the Revolutionary War is discussed.

Like it!. I kind if like this so uh... Ket it up

Thought provoking. I realize importance of American being in this country and you were at the time shrugging off all the Tranny and the brutality of the European continent.

If you love all mankind…. To not have in this book as required reading in all school in the world is a tremendous error on all mankind. This moment I. Time = every moment I. Time when there is harm inflicted to a body of mankind. The world, a continent, a country, a state, a county, a city, a town, a household, a person. We are all equal and we are all one. We have to stand up, respect, and love one another and if that is threatened and violence is brought, then we unite to fight and defend for peace, equality, prosperity.

Must;. Indeed.

Delightful Read. This is an excellent book to read, to understand the mindset of U.S. patriots at the formative time in our nation. Paine uses Biblical wisdom and, of course, common sense, to make the case for rejection of the Monarchy and independence for the new Union.

idk. ive been reading common sense by Thomas Paine, some men say that im intense or im insane, u want a revolution i want a revelation so listen to my declaration. i swear lin-manuel miranda has made this book sound interesting

Freedom. What a visionary. Truly one of America's first patriots. However the thing I found interesting was Paine's use of religion, the Bible in particular, to make so many of his strongest arguments for independence. Especially after i read his later writing, The Age of Reasoning, in which he went to great lengths to belittle the bible, koran and all other books of "revelation" as mostly fodder.

@ the other review. The book is categorized under "law" but you were surprised/disappointed that it was actually about law. At least I understand why the title was so appealing to you. Good luck in your search for common sense.

Hamalton. I’ve been reading common sense by Thomas pane, some men say that I’m intense or I’m insane. You want a review I want to sing hamalton so listen to my declaration. We hold these truths to be self evident that all men are created equal. And when I meet Tomas Jefferson, I’m going to tell him to include WOMAN in the sequel. WORK

Minor Typos. This particular ebook has a few too many punctuation mistakes, but its content is still worthwhile to read; in other words, “Common Sense” makes sense.

Great. A great work that should be required reading in all American History classes!

Writing style. I have notice his sentence structure is very rough. I could definitely tell he was using this book to rant his complaints of the ruling government, rather that making it a philosophical or novel like. This book is extremely difficult to digest.

All free men, and those who aspire to be. It will not take you long to read through this book, but it presents a hugely important snapshot of the mindset and readiness of the Americans of the Colonies to become THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. Any reader that wants to understand how this nation went from being a subject of a foreign nation to a free and independent republic owes it to themselves to read this short, but extremely relevant narrative.

Hey. Hey

HISTORY REPEATING ITSELF?. Thomas Paine was absolutey brilliant in his insight. However, as a patriot of my country as I read this I immediately realized that this pamphlet is now describing our tyrannical AMERICAN Gov’t.

Before you decide not to read this book READ THIS. This book was written before the revolutionary war speaking to early Puritan and Anglican settlers that colonist should stand up against the mother country and become an independent nation. Without leaders like Paine America would still be controlled by Great Britain. So all the other ignorant people giving this book horrible reviews due your research before you open your mouth, and criticize revolutionary authors like Paine that can be compared to that of transcendentalist authors of the lost generation like Sigmund Freud. If I a 15 year old girl can see this book for it's groundbreaking impact on society then and what it has done for America now then all others should see it as well and give it a chance.

American Patriot. Without Paine America would never had sought indepndance and only self rule within the English empire. It may be kinda boring but without this writing, American's would only have remainened rebels in a civil war and would have never turned into revolutionaries. This was a radical book for its time and deserves respect for what it accomplished.

A MUST READ FOR ALL AMERICANS. Common Sense is a timeless classic with applications that are still applicable today. Thomas Paine was definitely a man ahead of his time. His arguments are logical, concise, and easy to follow.

Respect. Without Thomas Paine's words of wisdom America could still belong to Europe.

A must read to understand our “Why”.. This helps shed additional light on our nation’s independence and the necessity of our independence instead of being ruled.

STOP!. If you are thinking about getting this cause you think you've heard of the author or you like the title, STOP thinking and get out of here. This is a book completely about law, and it bores me to tears. Be smart, and kick yourself out of here- for forever. I'm only giving this a one star because I have to rate it. If I had a choice, I'd give it a negative trillion. Thanks for reading, and hopefully thanks for not reading.

Good History Read. Good read for those who love history!

HA!. The only reason I bought this is because it was in the movie National Treasure!!!!

Common Sense by Thomas Paine. An essential literature to the American Revolutionary War, Common Sense is a great read for American history junkies. The writings were meant to persuade the Colonists that independence from Britain was more desirable than reconciliation. With this in mind, it's important to note while reading Common Sense that there is a bias, and as such the arguments for remaining under the rule of Britain are not well-represented. Similar to present-day editorials, counter arguments are sometimes dismissed without due analysis. That being said, Common Sense was an immensely popular and influential pamphlet in its time, and provides a unique look into the mindset of Americans on the onset of their fight for independence.

Thomas Paine. I’ve been reading common sense by Thomas Paine so men I’m intense or I’m insane.

Common Sense. I can see why this pamphlet was so well received. The reasons for independence were spelled out so clearly and concisely. You couldn't help but take a side for independence.

Thomas Paine is INSANE!. Why does this fool think it would be a good idea to secede from Great Brooklyn? It would be so much more sensible to stay under the King's guiding hand. He hath taken great measures to keep us safe, and it would be horrible to take it for granted. In the words of Samuel Seabury, "Heed not the rabble who scream, 'revolution!', they have not your interest at heart. Chaos and bloodshed are not a solution, don't let them lead you astray."
