Eye Opener and Lifestyle Changer. This book was both refreshing and invigorating! The book caused me to take numerous self exams and make changes that glorify God. I often refer to this book when teaching others and it's always received well. God bless Craig Groeschel!

Great book. Definitely an eye opener. Caused me to do soul searching so that I could live out what I believed.

Good book but takes scripture out of context. This was an encouraging book and I believe it addresses a problem that is rampant among those professing to be Christian. I would have rated the book higher, however the author quoted Jeremiah 29:11 out of context. This is one of the most abused passages on the bible because of the way many apply it to their lives when this promise was not made to you, me, or anyone else currently living on earth. Jeremiah 29 is written specifically to Jewish captives/exiles in Babylon over 2000 years ago and says so clearly in the text. It also states that after 70 years in exile they will be able to return home, then then God explains why in 29:11. I hesitate to take any spiritual mentorship from anyone who misses something so glaringly obvious in the text of a passage. Now my question is “how many more things I am reading will be built on a foundation that is not solid because the principles are taken from other scriptures out of context?” This situation, abusing Jeremiah 29:11 and other verses like it completely outside of its original context and meaning, is something that must be addressed and I am trying to gently but firmly address that here. How many people have stood on promises that were not promised to them and had their faith shattered when things didn’t work out because of misguided use of promises in scripture? Getting it wrong causes harm. I am praying for you brother. Jesus loves you and so do I.

Amazing. The author has an anecdote for every point he makes. Never seen that style of writing before. This story is truly convicting and just hits the nail on the head each time. I feel better and am better for reading it. I thank God I found this book

Amazing!!. This book will challenge your walk with The Lord like no other. Talk about a wake up call to start walking day in and day out with Jesus. I truly enjoyed this book and had to purposely put it down to think and chew over Groschel's dialogue. It's worth the money, buy it today and I hope it makes you reflect as much as it did for me.

Simple Read. Powerful Message.. When I told my mother-in-law what the title of this book was that I was reading, she seemed puzzled. Why? Because, as she said it, "the title seems like an oxymoron." She is right, and I think that is what Groeschel intended. It is a piece about people who claim Christianity yet lead a life that is opposite of that claim. In my opinion, one of the best thing I take from this book is it reads like a conversation -- one characterized by authenticity and transparency. Groeschel makes no qualms about the fact he has struggled and continues to do so at time with each of the issues presented in the various chapters. Until those who claim Christianity make it a point to live a live completely devoted to Christ -- and be willing to make the hard sacrifices -- we will continue to have a relationship with God that is more like an atheist than a true, born-again Christian.

Good read. When it comes to being a Christian, it is either you are in or out. Nothing in between.

Is perfectly true. It’s fine to like non-Christian things but as long as you don’t wander too far and get lost! If you go too far run back by:praying daily, reading the bible and talking to god about your troubles! It may feel weird but it’s the right thing to do!
