Great book. Whether you agree with everything Kissinger says in the book or not, this book is a must-read for anyone who is interested in knowing more about China and the US-China relationship.

Sino-American Insights. Kissinger’s On China offers a window into modern Sino-American relations unmatched by most other materials due to the author’s unique insights and perspectives. While Kissinger brushes over the rougher aspects of his legacy, the presented history is comprehensive and valuable. It depicts why our relationship with China is important, why Taiwan and culture continue to divide us, and why we have a responsibility to attempt cooperation for the good of global peace. It also answers how both countries conceptualize foreign affairs and what kind of leaders oversaw it’s modern era. Getting a feel for the background, personalities, and policies of Chinese leaders since (and including) Mao is rewarding considering the opacity of the country’s political mechanizations. The American and Chinese bipolar dynamic is perhaps the most important geopolitical phenomena since the emergence of the Westphalian system in Europe. There are many differences in how each country operates and interprets foreign actions. Suffice it to say, both countries must understand each other and evolve co-dynamically; this book helps bridge the required mutual understanding.

Brilliant. Kissinger's perspective and analysis of 40 years of US - China relations are brilliant. Whatever your political perspective, this often first hand account of the key events that have shaped this relationship is candid and educational. A must read.

Good but it crashes my iBooks reader. So far I have enjoyed this book, but it seems to crash my iPad iBooks app. Hopefully Apple will fix this.
