Who Moved My Cheese? Book Summary

THE #1 INTERNATIONAL BESTSELLER WITH OVER 10 MILLION COPIES IN PRINT!

A timeless business classic, Who Moved My Cheese? uses a simple parabel to reveal profound truths about dealing with change so that you can enjoy less stress and more success in your work and in your life.

It would be all so easy if you had a map to the Maze.
If the same old routines worked.
If they'd just stop moving "The Cheese."
But things keep changing...

Most people are fearful of change, both personal and professional, because they don't have any control over how or when it happens to them. Since change happens either to the individual or by the individual, Dr. Spencer Johnson, the coauthor of the multimillion bestseller The One Minute Manager, uses a deceptively simple story to show that when it comes to living in a rapidly changing world, what matters most is your attitude.

Exploring a simple way to take the fear and anxiety out of managing the future, Who Moved My Cheese? can help you discover how to anticipate, acknowledge, and accept change in order to have a positive impact on your job, your relationships, and every aspect of your life.

Does this book need another 5 star review? Probably not but I anticipate it having a major impact on my personal and professional life and wanted to give a little back to the author. Thank you. This is going on the list of books I read every few months. If you are on the fence about this book, just read it, you'll be so glad you did.

This was a very interesting read. It is curious that there are so many people I can identify with from the story. This includes those people within ourselves.

...read this book. You'll read it in one sitting and get enough ideas and perspective to last a lifetime. Instinctively we know change is inevitable but dealing with it is learned behavior, and how we choose to deal with change itself changes over time. This story will put the edge back on your blade and let you slice through the chaos, keeping your health and humor intact.
  • Good for quick read

I am a slow reader and knocked this thing out on my lunch break at work. Therefore, paying $17 for something that will take less than an hour to read is a little overkill but moving on to the story itself. It is in three sections, the first section is a group of people at a reunion and one of them says they remember the story about the mice and cheese. Then everyone else, like giddy first graders begs this guy to tell the story. Waste of three pages in an already short book. The story follows two mice and two little dudes in a maze. Hem (a little dude) is a whiny brat and Haw (another little dude) had no self confidence to tell Hem to stuff it until way late in the game. I won’t give away the story. The last section is a huge waste of 10 pages. It is the discussion amongest these friends but it sounds like a PSA. It is forced, unnatural and “scripted.” If that chapter was a TV show, it would be hanked day one for bad acting. Trust me, just read the actual story and skip parts 1 and 3. The story is an interesting take and it is something we all know. “Flow with change, sense it early and adapt.” But, sometimes it is fun to see it in a different way. Do yourself a favor and BORROW this book. Never pay more than a few bucks for it. The story is good but not THAT good.
