Great beginning to a wonderful series!. Charming he may not be but wow what a perfect protagonist for a new series/world!

Dark Prince. I was excited to read about the prince since he figures prominently in the other Carpathian novels I’ve read. Now I want to go back to the others and see if Raven got her act together. It took me the whole book to even start to like her. .The prince, I liked very much, as he did his best to rein in his overbearing, dictatorial tendencies for her. Raven’s character is a self sacrificing bleeding heart with a death wish! No self preservation in that one at all. Don’t see where anyone would think “Rape” in this book. There was nothing between those two that even remotely suggested rape to me, but then, soft gentle love scenes aren’t my,( nor evidently Ms Feehan’s) thing. She writes some hot, sexy passages that are, well, HOT! Love her work!

Lame. I love to read and normally read one book in a weekend. This book is so poorly written and boring that I can't stand the thought of finishing it. I feel bad for wasting the money I spent on it.

Inconsistencies. Great story idea. The characters lack backbone. There main characters repeat the same argument for hundreds of pages. The inconsistencies in the story also annoy. For example she can't eat or hold down juice but then she is drinking tea. He controls minds but gets shot saving a friend instead of controlling the shooters mind to miss his target, which would have been quicker since he was next to the shooter. The annoying inconsistencies just build up as you read further.

Don't miss!. This is a beautiful beginning to an amazing series! I've become a huge fan and have now read the entire series and can't wait for more!

Dark prince. Loved the story, it kept me interested. It shed some light on Mikhail, his responsibilities to his people. I have not read all these books in order. This book gave me some answers about Gregori!

Long reign Mikhail!. The first book of the wonderfully written Dark Series is the perfect beginning book for the Carpathian lover. We open to the lonely and dark Prince Mikhail who immediately captures the reader's attention with his magic and intelligence. As we follow his quest to understand the tragic murder of his sister while trying to understand the needs of the human lifemate he has found, we see behind the curtains to a society on the brink of destruction. We are introduced to other Carpathians along the way who will eventually have their own stories and learn the secrets of this magical and beautiful race. The reader is taken on a thrilling journey that ultimately culminates in a timeless love. Full of action, thrills, and romance, Ms. Feehan sets the stage for an incredible series of tales. I would recommend this tale to anyone who could use a touch of dark magic in their imagination.

Dark prince. Best book ever, i already read 15 books in the series & still reading. I love the Carpathian Novel books...

Boring........ This book was so incredibly boring that it was the first book in my life that I was not able to finish. The author is very repetitive and the story is just plain annoying. Before reading this book, I read the first book in the JR Ward series, that book was a true vampire classic and I was hooked!

It's great!. One of my favorite stories by my favorite author!!

Rape. Rape culture prevails. I couldn’t get through the first chapter with out thinking about victims.

Dark Prince. How is it that Raven's powerful talents are not used in and of the future books. I have read 25 books and she seems to have become just a normal housewife. Were we to forget how the prince and she met, why she was a match for him? md

Suspenseful vampire tale!. This might be my favorite of Christine Feehan’s books. I enjoy the Carpathian world she has created and the characters, which are real and distinct. This is a fantastic love story between the prince of the Carpathian’s and his human lifemate. You will be holding your breath during parts of the book, wondering if the hero and heroine can possibly survive. I really enjoyed the story.

Dark Series!. I'm in love with the dark series!! The books are exceptional!! I couldn't stop reading it!! Even if i went to a restaurant or a fastfood i had to read under the table!! It's adictive!! :D

Irritating! Waste of time!. This book could have been good if only the main character, Raven, was not the most annoying and irritating character throughout the entire book. Raven was seriously the worst. I could understand that she was hesitant and annoying about being with Mikhail in the beginning, but throughout the entire book....seriously?! Enough was enough. Why couldn't you write her to be accepting. Even at the end she was against him. She was indecisive and extremely annoying for the entire book. Raven completely ruined this book for me. I absolutely abhorred her. Do not recommend unless frustration and wasting your time is the goal.

Awful. I read a couple of books each week and normally don't waste time writing reviews, but this book really warrants one, because it's that bad! Completely unconvincing, all over the place and without a real plot. Plus, badly written. Total waste of time and money!

This is a great book, and an amazing series!!!. I loved this book & the rest of the series. I have re-read this book many times and have never gotten rape in any way—whether it’s physically or mentally—from this book. I believe people should read an entire novel before saying something like that because it effects the decisions of others before they have a chance to form their own unbiased opinions. Also, Raven reaches out to him mentally first.. not the other way around. She felt his strife and wanted to help him. He’s the typical Alpha Royal, and she falls deeply in love with him. So do not judge this book based off of the misuse or misunderstanding of the word Rape. I truly believe that anyone would love this book & series if they actually gave it a chance. The men in this series love & cherish their women because women who can become mates are very rare in their world. It is a touching love story full of angst, passion, and true self-sacrificing love. Definitely read it!!! Happy Reading!!!

Rape isn’t romantic. Rape. This isn’t a romance novel, it’s mentally twisted and glorifies A man raping a woman because he could.

Dark prince. I absolutely love this series, and personally, I’d love for it to become a tv series. I think it would do very well 😊

Uneventful. I have read quite a few books by this author and enjoyed them all... except this one. It just drug on and on and on. The characters were totally cliche and many aspects of the plot were predictable. I just could not get into it and didn’t even finish the book...which is SO rare for me.

Long and boring. I got about halfway through this book and I couldn’t take it anymore. This book is long for no reason! I kept thinking get to the point already! I am not one to write a review, good or bad, but this book needs a warning label.

Reads like sexual assault. I only read the sample but I have decided to not purchase it based upon what I read. Raven reaches out telepathically to a man/vampire who is lonely and thinking of ending his life. He reacts with new interest in life and her. Return mental contact reads like a sexual assault. He demeans her. Kidnaps her. She tells him to stop. He keeps going. I was looking for an adventure romance where they meet become friends and develop a relationship. This was not what I was looking for.

Dark prince. I read this book on its first release 24 books past in the series. It has long been a series that as soon as the next book is released I grab to read in one day and then wait impatiently for the next. Her stories have evolved over time as the world had developed but this is the book that started it all. It was rereleased and expanded in the 2011 version. If you love paranormal romance this series is one of the best written and well known

Dark prince. Since I have started reading Christine's novels, I have fallen in love with the world of Paranormal romance. This novel gives a wonderful romantic story with the excitement and vitality of the other realm making me want to surrender myself to the pure joy of the read.
