Trap Line. Fast paced, could 't put it down!

Not classic Carl. You can tell this was mostly written by his buddy, there was no humor like in all the other Carl books I’ve read. That being said, I still finished it, and it was okay. It was a solid 2 stars.

Getting off the Rock. Carl Hiassen’stock in trade has long been the villainous grotesques who swarm his novels about life in Florida. Here that Dickensian variety is pared down, and the core of the story, the struggle of one « Conch » Captain to make a better future for himself and his baseball loving son in the face of endless bills, stolen traps, and certain demands from the local representatives of what Hiassen calls « the Machine » (ie thé Colombian drug cartel) one of which is of the kind one can’t refuse.

Always An Enjoyable, Thrilling, & Funny Read. First time read on my iPad. I have enjoyed many of Hiaasen's paperback novels! This the my first novel with Bill Montalbano as the co-auther, it was a good addition to all his Florida writings. I'm a Florida resident that frequents the Keys. What is great for me, is how you weave the Florida scenery and culture to add the color to the emotion of the scenes and plots of the story, fantastic job. The only negative comment, I can't purchase an electronic book for the price of a paperback, that includes shipping. With the paperbacks I can read more novels. Maybe Apple can sell the books like they sell music on iTunes?? Maybe that would help their stock! Ralph Mantia SR, keep up the good writing!

Loved it!. A tight, colorful, beautifully constructed revenge yarn with a cast of characters you give a damn about. Not a wasted word either.
