Baby Genius. I first read this book over 12 years ago while expecting my first child. It gave me the tools I need to feel comfortable as a new mom. Since then, I've given or suggested this book to every new mom. I have just read again after having my 3 rd child 12 years later and it's still the best tool I've ever had!

Balanced & specific. What I appreciate most abut this book is that it is balanced. I've been so inundated with extreme opinions about breast feeding and parenting styles (i.e. attachment vs. furberizing), that Tracy's approach shines through like a ray of light. Her methods are both nurturing and independence-promoting. They give the baby what he/she needs while still giving the family/couple/parent time and balance in life. Tracy's gives very specific directions and advice, example stories, and a realistic view of the challenges that arise with a new child. She is specific as to how to accomplish each aspect of the child's day: Eating - how long, how much, breast or bottle or both... Activities - how to bathe, change, dress, soothe... Sleeping - how to recognize the signs of a sleepy baby, how to get them used to their crib... Tracy's book has given me greater understanding and confidence which I am sure will help emensley with the new bundle of joy we expect in three months. I hope to remember to write another review after my husband has read this and we have put Tracy's methods to the test. If you are expecting or need guidance for your child raising, I HIGHLY reccommend this book! It is a must-read no matter what your parenting style is (or will be).

I wish I would of read this book sooner!!!!. I read this book when my Baby was 6 weeks old, by then the rough first days were behind us but it taught me everything I had felt and gone through was normal. I just wish I would of read it sooner because it would of helped me through some of those rough newborn days! I highly recommend it!
