Lady Blue Eyes by Barbara Sinatra Book Summary

Barbara Sinatra’s first public love letter to the husband she adored, she celebrates the sensational singer, possessive mate, sexy heartthrob, and devoted friend that she found in Frank in Lady Blue Eyes.

For more than two decades, Barbara was always by Frank Sinatra's side, traveling the globe and hosting glittering events for their famous friends, including presidents, kings, queens, Hollywood royalty, and musical legends.  Among them were Sammy Davis, Jr., Princess Grace of Monaco, Bob Dylan, and Ronald Reagan. Each night, as Frank publicly wooed his bride with love songs from a concert stage, she’d fall in love with him all over again.

From her own humble beginnings in a small town in Missouri to her time as a fashion model and her marriage to Zeppo Marx, Barbara Sinatra reveals a life lived with passion, conviction, and grace. A founder of the Miss Universe pageant and a onetime Vegas showgirl, she raised her only son almost single-handedly in often dire circumstances until, after five years of tempestuous courtship, she and Frank committed to each other wholeheartedly. In stories that leap off the page, she takes us behind the scenes of her iconic husband’s legendary career and paints an intimate portrait of a man who was variously generous, jealous, witty, and wicked. Coupled with revealing insights about many of Frank’s celebrated songs, this is much more than the story of a showbiz marriage. It is a story of passion and of a deep and lifelong love.

Such a wonderful book!. I so enjoyed every page, just fascinating. Wonderful insight into to Sinatra's life.

Lady Blue Eyes. I have always been a fan of Mr. Sinatra's and will be always. Getting to know what a wonderful romantic he was with Barbara was endearing. Thank you Barbara, for sharing your fantastic journey with us. I enjoyed his music, his humanitarianism, his wonderful humor and generosity. I, too, will always keep him in my heart.

Behind every great man.. Stands a that much more a great woman. So nice to know that one of this country national treasures lived his midlife and silver years with such happy and care loving companionship. Thank you Barbara Sinatra For sharing all of this and for keeping him alive and well. Truly Best regards Noel A huge fan.

Lady Blue Eyes. I did not expect this book to be very good, and I was wrong! Excellent writing, great details, an honest and fascinating tale of love, big money, and romance. It's also not a glossed over fake story. I really enjoyed this book, and I recommend it to everyone who loves a real love story.

Lady Blue Eyes. Certainly lends credence to Tina’s book; not a single reference to her or Nancy. I may only assume that his daughter was truthful in her version of how Barbara totally blocked them out, at every chance she got, while her own son is portrayed in a manner which intimates that Frank thought more of him than his own children. And as hard as “Barbara Blue Eyes” tries: that sadly takes away from her stories and makes one question their veracity. My heart goes out to his children and the pain she so obviously caused them. Sinatra’s story as told by the ultimate gold digger of our times.

Lady Blue Eyes. quite possibly the most boring, inane book I have ever read. I skimmed the lash three quarters, which appear to be just name dropping by a woman whose only talent is marrying men who buy her nice jewelry. Would not even have been worth a $2 charge.

Fantastic Book!. I could not put this book down. What an amazing love story...

Thank you Mrs.Sinatra. I just read the last couple of chapters at A Restaurant in Beverly Hills I had My iPod playing music.......I had to put my sunglasses on so that other diners could not see the tears streaming down my face.I had not cried in many years never mind in public. The IPod was on shuffle and the moment I read the page on The Desert Memorial Park burial.......Frank sang Angel Eyes.......,,At that moment and I believe........he knows how important it was to let me know......how he appreciates......my being such a loyal fan........who is so grateful.......to have had every important moment in my life topped off with one of his songs......the Happy and Sad memories of my life are indelibly etched in my mind around his incomparable songs and unique talent......that made every song a motion picture......Mrs.Sinatra don't despair.....The Angels in Heaven....are all singing in the background.......Backing up a man who cares and they are having a ball.Sleep Warm Mrs.Sinatra.......and thank you so much for your book......The Magic Grows.....Regards David Rawcliffe Santa Monica California 06/28/2011

A good read. This was a true love story, and insight to a man who has been written about so much. He was a truly good man, anonymously helping and tipping people--- very caring. I was so glad to see how kind he was to Barbara's son. He was a gem!

Totally engrossing reading. I’ve read many books in this genre but this one was extremely well written. She gives you insight on so much and it’s so very well written. Totally worth the read!

Blue. There are many great parts in this book.

Love the book.. This was a fabulous book. I had tears in the end when Frank died. I felt I knew them both after I read the book.

A must read. Fantastic read. I could not put it down a loving, romantic tribute to a great life filled with love

Wonderful Memories of Frank. Lovely book, lovingly written by his wife Barbara. The stories are full of insights to an icon of American entertainment. He has always been a legendary figure during my life, but reading this book makes him a real person with an extraordinary life not only filled with music, but with generosity and kindness and loyalty shown to family, to friends, to employees and also to strangers in need.

What a great life... Very fortunate.. It's a life we all wish we'd have lived in that time. Never a dull moment.

Lady blue eyes. Wonderful, inspirational, enlightening, but so sad that he is gone. Thanks for writing this book. I learned so much more about the man and his beautiful wife

So enjoyable ... You'll read it again and again!. Barbara Sinatra's love story is a treasure to behold.

Lady blue eyes. A great love story

Great Book!,. A great book about Barbara's early life and her life with Frank. It is lovingly written. I enjoyed it very much.

Repetitive. While I respect the wonderful music and the unmatching generosity Mr. Sinatra shared, Mrs. Sinatra tells the story over and over again about the endless parties, card games and endless drinking taking place in their life together. I lost interest and skipped through the book.

Fantasy at it's best!. A delusional account by a desperate women who is better at widowhood than marriage . My fathers daughter by Tina Sinatra tells the real account of Franks life and THIS marriage . If you read the book you will notice not one acknowledgment of his first wife existence anywhere. Yet Ava, and Mia are mentioned. How can one even take a book seriously with that dramatic omission. Oh yes, Mrs. Sinatra, with the help of a Roman catholic priest Father Rooney got the church to orchestrate an annulment . Thus making Nancy Sr. Marrage Non existent. Barbra is a bitter former show girl trying to carve a legacy for herself. But if this is what Mrs.S needs to be at peace. God bless her. Tina's book is objective, honest and loving. Sinatra himself would be proud of it's detail. She doesn't paint it all sunshine and roses as Mrs.S does. I bought the book because I wanted to read her account. But quickly was turned off by it's omissions and falsehoods. She also forgot to mention that according to Tina Sinatra's book, she kept Frank overmedicated with a drug called Elivil. Returning to their lawyers office to have a new will drawn up. I urge all of you to read "My fathers daughter" by Tina Sinatra.

Lady Blue Eyes. I was born in 1956. This book makes sense of the hysteria surrounding FS which occurred prior to my existence. Makes me wish I was born earlier...

Very limited view of the "true" Sinatra. Barbara drops names and always makes her life with Sinatra sound perfect and lives are far from that. Also she purposely neglects to mention Sinatra's daughters in any detail and only passingly mentions Jr. Those children had some major roles in his life yet she passes over that side of Sinatra.

Sinatra. Best book I've read in a long long time. Barbara, you were perfect for Frank for sure
