Addicted. I couldn't put this book down! Loved every minute of it. A lot of action and well developed characters that were believable. Most well developed romance between the two main characters that I've read in quite sometime and I read a lot of erotica/romance novels. Definitely a good read.

Couldn’t finish. Literally couldn’t finish this read. Have loved some of her other stuff but this was awful

In Bed With a Highlander. Maya Banks, again, has written a wonderful story. The love story between Ewen and Mairin is wonderful and steamy. The loyalty of his clan to him and and their mistress is remarkable even in the face of deceit. The character development was done well. I loved this story and never wanted it to end.

One of my Favorite Books of all Time. This book was just a good read. Everything about it was enjoyable and the characters are just so lovable. Could read it 100 times and still love it!

Great book. Wow what a story!! I really enjoyed it. Humor and tears. A little bit more sexually graphic than I care for but I skipped those pages and it was still a good story.

In bed with a highlander. I enjoyed this book. The plots were good, and I liked the characters. It had just enough humor and just enough passion. But for some reason I felt like it was lacking the highland or Scottish experience for that matter. Maybe it was lack of the language, but I almost felt like I was reading a western at times. But since I enjoyed everything else about it I can't wait to read the sequel.

Wanted: Hot Highlander dropping trew.... Let me start off by saying that I have never read a book by Maya Banks, until now. Go ahead, judge. After coming back from RomCon11, I had a new appreciation for highlanders. Anyway, the ARC was staring at me from my bookshelf. It kept crying my name and I finally gave in. Also contributing to the need to read factor, the ultra fabulous Tessa Dare made the book trailer. How can you not pick up the book after watching? Oh my stars! I need the next book (after reading the teaser in the back) right now. I'd do anything for it, even drop trew. I must say that this book series could totally be made into a movie or an epic TV show. This book had me giggling and sighing, wishing I had my own highlander going alpha when I misbehaved. Ms. Banks has a way with words, placing me inside the story and experiencing all the emotions each character feels whether it is inner or outer turmoil. I laughed, I cried, I may have thrown the book at the wall a few times (courtesy of Ewan and Caelen) but I came back for more. Now, is it September yet??

So good. These old Scottish romance novels are so not my thing. But I'm so hooked right now I don't care. This book was so good. I also loved Never Seduce a Scot and I'm about to buy the other two books in the McCabe trilogy. Can't wait to see what happens next...

In bed with the hihlander. A little pricey but one of the best Scottish romances I’ve read and I’ve read a lot since Scottish romances are my favorite. Only ones I’ve liked better are glynnis Campbells.

Wonderful. What a delightful surprise. This is a different story for Maya Banks, but just as well written as her usual. Strong characters, good plot, hot love scenes. Great story.

Simply Good. This book is just good, hence the 3 stars. There are very cute moments, very sexy moments, and very exciting moments. But between those moments are full, lazy writing. The main characters are also kind of dull. It seems like the author wanted to make the female protagonist kind of feisty and stubborn, but she ended up being portrayed as juvenile and quirky, which is cute!! but not really what this story needed. However, i am very excited for the next book in the series. Alaric was actually my favorite of all the characters in this book, so I’m so glad to read what happens with him! From what i’ve seen, it looks so good!

I couldn’t finish. Books 2 and 3 in this series are much better! Trust me, start with book 2 the rest of the series is Really good.

Love it!. I have been reading historical "Scottish" themed romance/erotica books and this is probably one of the best series I have read I love how each book in this series involves the same general characters, the scene are hot and the story is great.

A good read... Endearing, enchanting and adventurous. One of the best reasons I love reading romance novels. No cat mouse routine, lots of focus on emotions and romance. Sex scenes were steamy with out being vulgar. My very first novel read from this author won't be my last.

Great!. I have been having a hard time recently finding good books to read that I haven’t already read. I am extremely picky about the books that I read even though I have eclectic tastes. I am happy to say that I absolutely love this book and I can’t wait to read the rest of them. One of the great things about finding these books so late is that I don’t have to wait a long time to finish the series.. ;)

In Bed With a Highlander. This was my first Maya Banks book and I loved it!!!!! I couldn't get my work done because I couldn't put this book down! Already downloaded the next one in the McCabe trilogy:))) Great storyline, strong characters, hot love scenes, Just loved it....

Fabulous story. This was the first time I actually bought a book here and I was very satisfied. The story held up and gave me one or two surprises! Couldn't stop reading. I'm going to buy the other books!

Slaraes. This book is incredible. It had everything you could hope for, suspense, humor, great sex, awesome characters and a compelling storyline. I never wanted the book to end and I can't wait to read the next installment in this series.

Can't wait until next week!!. I loved this series so far!! I've read loads of different authors in the Highlander Series and this has it all. I would laugh out load at times and then found myself I tears. The love and passion is good too. You feel apart of the story. I can't wait til next week when the second one come out!! Way to start a new series with a BANG!. Maya Banks has done it again!! This is a fabulous start to a brand new series from this talented author. I enjoyed this book from beginning to end and can't wait for the next installments to release, thank goodness that is back to back in Sept. & October or I may have gone scooters having to wait. One of the things I like most about Maya Banks writing is that she doesn't spend 20 pages explaining one setting or one event drawing it out to the point my eyes glaze over. She keeps a good pace with good dialogue which in turn keeps me entranced until I realize I've read the entire book. This book is Ewan McCabe & Mairin Stuart's story. He is Laird, eldest of the 3 McCabe brothers and a fierce warrior. She is the illegitimate daughter of the king who's been in hiding since she was a mere child. They are ultimately brought together by his son Crispen (who you just have to love) and initially wed to gain her dowry and lands. As she finds her footing and place within the McCabe clan she frequently causes a ruckus and disobeys her husband. It proves to be quite humorous as she has the habit of speaking out loud the thoughts in her head. Avoiding a ton of spoilers and in turn outlining the entire book I will leave off saying that this is a worthy read that will leave you wanting more! **I would like to thank Maya Banks for this Advance Reader's Copy it has been a pleasure to read and would happily do so anytime in the future**

In Bed With A Highlander.. was superb.. Maya Banks did amazing job with this novel. With this series in fact. I’m on the last book of the series now. But enough of that. In Bed With A Highlander was a great read. I loved the feud, or would you call it war between the clans. That continues in all three books. I might add. And the romance going on in this one. And the next two.

A really nice change. This was a really nice change of Maya Banks regular reads. I liked the book a lot. Still had the steamy sex with a great love story.

A poor imitation. This book is just a poor imitation of Julie Garwood’s books. It has the structure alright and the same story line however it lacks the banter and charm. If I wasn’t such a fan of Garwood’s I’m not sure if I would have noticed? I read it anyway as I love the genre but it was a tad disappointing.

Never before have I been so utterly disinvested in a book and it’s characters.. I get that these books aren’t meant to be entirely deep nor the plot so complicated however this was just bad. The characters are so superficial and unlikeable it’s a struggle to keep through the book. At best it’s corny at worst completely unrealistic and unreasonable. I actually preferred the minor characters to the main characters. I will also issue a warning to those sensitive to the topic that the first ‘coupling’ between Mairin and Ewan is nothing short of a rape scene. And it occurs somewhere around chapter 14 for those looking to skip it.

Enjoyable read. I thoroughly enjoyed this novel. The characters were well developed and interesting with laugh at loud moments. The story was interesting and the gripping narrative kept me reading until the wee hours of the night. Can't wait to read the next installment!
