the ideal man (?). I've been a fan of this author for a long time, but this book was nothing but a waste of time for me, and an easy way for her to make money.

Not believable. I used to read every Julie Garwood book that came out, but haven't done so in a few years. After reading the reviews for this one, I decided to check her newer stuff out, and had pretty high expectations because I always loved her books before. But this book is not only boring, but Ellie is too 'perfect' to be believable. She's gorgeous and blonde, a prodigal genius, loves sports center, beer, and football (even plays on multiple fantasy leagues, even though she barely has time to sleep because she's so busy being a brilliant surgeon), and falls right asleep after mind blowing sex, unlike all the other obnoxious females who want to-GASP!-cuddle and talk after sex. She's just a male fantasy, and doesn't have any depth. As for the rest of the book, it's just one cliche after another, and the conversations are really contrived, as well as having out of date phrases. Not worth it, move on.

Have in paperback. Awesome story from a reliably good author, do recommend

The ideal man. I just wished Julie Garwoods books were twice as long, so I could I could enjoy them that much longer.

Awful. One star is actually too much. Julie, stick to historical romance, this did not work.

Great read. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. It had drama,action, and romance. I could not put it down.

Expected Better. This one has its good and bad. Premise is interesting but the ending was so rushed. The FMC has a decent job and a backbone and is someone who is just trying to live her life, though she has family issues, a traumatic past with a stalker, and works in a hospital where bullet removals are a dime a dozen. He is a FBI agent with just the right touch of possessiveness. The ending was just so rushed and out of character for them both (minus her court scene). Reminded me of a timed exam when you realize you have 3 minutes left and are only halfway through the essay question. It was as if she hit her page or word count quota and said “ok, wrapping up five chapters into some CliffsNotes. I expected better. Love most of her other stories. This one is ok, but not a favorite.

My first Julie Garwood suspense...Loved it!. This was the first Julie Garwood suspense book I read. I loved her historical romances and I'm a huge fan of Linda Howard who tends to write romantic suspense, so I thought I'd give this a try, and wow, I really liked it. I had a hard time putting it down. I thought the story was great, the romance/chemistry was good. Will read more of her suspense books.

Suspenseful in more ways than one!. Julie Garwood really took her romance and danger to a new level! It was suspense and surprise around every corner until the very end! I couldn't put it down!

The Ideal Man. I have read a lot of romance and this one hit the target for me. Great characters, great action and a great read. It's one I've reread several times now and that's always a good sign.

Choppy and not romantic. I forced myself to finish reading this book. It is not romantic. That was a let down. It was putting one night stands and meaningless sex up on a pedi stool. It was also very choppy. There would be so much dialogue in meaningless stuff, but then the last several chapters were just large concluding summaries so the book could hurry up and be finished. It seems like the author was just tired of writing. The first 4/5 of the book happens over a few days, then the last 1/5 is jumping months in between each page.

Julie Garwood delivers again!. What a great read! I could not put "The Ideal Man" down once I started reading and I continued reading until the wee hours of the morning. I was hooked from the first line. Loved the characters and oh boy...the interactions between the characters... The story was great. Basically, a must read!

Blue cricket. Very well written... I aspire to write so well! This story had an even mix of everything a person could ask for in a contemporary fiction piece, nicely done!

Perfect one day read. I started this book on a rainy afternoon and was hooked within a couple of pages. It was a well written story that made the characters jump off the pages and into your mind. Great writer and I couldn't put the book down!

Another Great Book. I have read all of Garwood's books. The Ideal Man does not disappoint. I loved seeing Max fall in love. Ellie's character was funny and inspiring. I really enjoyed the double dose of suspense in this book. It really kept me guessing where was the biggest threat. All in all this one is going on my read again shelf! P.S. Ava was terrible!!!!! I'm so glad I don't have a sister like her!!!!!!!

Ideal Man. I enjoyed the read, however, I kept thinking I've read this before. Somewhat like a repeat of several of Julie's other books.

Ideal Man. Great book. Loved it. Great characters, romance, intrigue, danger. Doesn't get much better. I miss Julie's historicals.

Usually her biggest fan, but.... Although the book was ok, I found it very hard to reconcile the family relationships. And the "we're best friends" ending with the sisters just didn't feel right to me. The "sister drama" and the feeling that the parents were pushing our heroine to sleep with the hero were enough to lower the scores for me. I would recommend getting this book from the library or discount in paperback.

KT. I love all of Julie Garwoods books. And I loved this one too. It had a little of everything. Lots of great characters as well.
