Great book!. One of the best books I've read in a long time. Like the way it unfolds and keeps you guessing throughout the book.

Good Book. Great book. Story about what a man would do/believe for his own child.

Would not recommend. This book from the very beginning, I had high hopes for. I wanted to read it then watch the tv show. This book was very slow and detail oriented to the point that it dragged it out and was not always entraining to read. The ending I never saw coming and even though the ending had a shock factor, I did not like it. It was extremely morbid. In my opinion this book was not written in a way that the reader could connect with the characters

Defending Jacob. Wow!! This book was incredible. The suspense continued to build on itself, I couldn't put it down. I didn't see the ending coming. This book isn't over until you turn the last page. It will keep you entertained the whole time. I would definitely recommend reading this book.

Gave me the willies.. Didn't like the book. I only finished it because it was for book club. While it was well written, I suppose, I knew what was going on. I knew who would murder whom before the story progressed. I'll say no more so those that choose to read this wont have the story given away.

Not a total fail. This book was chosen for my book club. Well written, suspenseful. Ending was a shocker, didn't see it coming. Loved how it keep u guessing. My only complaint, the long drawn out court scenes. Otherwise, not a waste of time.

Page turner. I had to read this book for one of my classes and it was the best book I’ve ever read for school. I couldn’t stop turning the pages or even put it down.

Pass. Boring and depressing

Get ready for a great ride.... that twists and turns, surprises and shocks, and hooks the reader on the first page. I had to pace myself with reading as I did not want this book to end, yet I couldn't quit reading. And then, when the book did end and I realized the ride was over…I sat limp…shaking my head from side-to-side and I was stunned. What a book, what an author... I highly recommend.

Mind blowing. If you like twist endings you’ll absolutely adore this book. I couldn’t put my iPad down for a second, and I’m glad I didn’t. The characters are well thought out, and each obviously have their own flaws but that’s what makes them human. 9/10!

Enjoyable read. Overall, I enjoyed the store even though the father annoyed me at times with his willful ignorance of the situation. The ending drag on longer than it should, and the author could have easily cut out a chapter and still kept the current ending.

Solid Writing with the Exception Of ........ Defending Jacob has a complex and intriguing plot, interesting characters and is well written. Right up to the ending. At that point the author fails to bring his story to a conclusion, leaving too much to the reader's speculation.

Kudos to Author for a masterpiece!. I have read 1000 books in past 10 years. Most were non fiction because I was obsessed with personal knowledge. This book is like a great movie. You just can’t wait to see if the teenager did it. The characters and relationships jump off the pages! So many twists and turns. The ending just hits you like what the heck. The ending might depress you but it’s the ride that’s so exciting not the finish!

Defending Jacob. WHY do authors just leave you hanging? I feel like I just wasted my time reading this book. He goes into a whole new aspect of the story and abruptly cuts it off. It is very frustrating. I cannot understand why writers think their readers would like an ending like this.

In Defense of Jacob. This is quite a good story with surprises when you aren't expecting them. It's very much the way I think a family would handle the things they have to face, meaning I think it's very true to life-like. I enjoyed it more and more until finally I couldn't do any of my work because I couldn't stop reading it. I'll Recommend it to all of my reading friends. VR in Wichata

So many twists!. I am so happy that I found this bargain book, although I have no idea why it was such a deal. It kept me engrossed from the beginning with its family of characters and its details into the legal process. I was not prepared for the several surprising plot twists that kept jolting me like I was on a roller coaster. I will definitely have to read more by this author.

MEH!. This book was all procedure and very weak on characters. Who really needs to read about killing time? Story is all filler and very little beef..where's the beef?

Great crime thriller + courtroom drama!. I loved this book. It worked really well as a crime thriller & a courtroom drama, bc it unfolded the events of the crime as it happened in the past. The narrator is the DA & Jacob's father. I appreciated how the various court-specific vocabulary was defined in a way that felt natural, not like I was being talked down to. I definitely recommend this book!!!

Very we'll written. This book was very suspenseful. I loved all the twist and turns.

Expected more. This book received great reviews, but I am not sure why. The characters are not likable. The twists are great, but incomplete and abrupt. I gave it three stars because it is easy to read and I was caught off guard. It took me weeks to get through.

Defending Jacob. Really wanted to read this book but after I paid for and downloaded it, I keep getting an error message that says it is formatted incorrectly or is in a format that iBooks cannot open. I even just upgraded my iPad with the new IOS. What gives?

Amazing!. This book was honestly one of the best I've ever read. It kept my attention at all times. Just at the end, when you think, "Jeez, that was anticlimactic", your mind is blown! I have recommended to everyone I know! You won't be disappointed!

Stunned. I can usually read a book and see what's coming. Not so with Defending Jacob. It was a wonderful read. I never put it down. At the last line, I looked for more. I did not want to find myself an unwitting member of that final Grand Jury. As P. T. Barnum said, "Leave them wanting more." I wanted more.

Addictive. This book had me from Word One. Never saw the ending coming. Could have read 40 more chapters of this book. Left me wanting more. Downloaded all of this author's other books.

Not worth the read.. I bought this on sale and am glad I didn't pay full price. The book is biased to make fools of the reader.

Good book...a little long. I don't know exactly why we had to wait for the last 4 chapters to get into the meat of the book. Otherwise, good plot.

Defending Jacob. This book gives any parent plenty to cogitate about. Nature vs nurture. Denial when it comes to your offspring. Plus a very realistic insight into the judicial system from both sides of the bar.
