Outstanding. Beautiful. Needed.. This book is like cool water for a thirsty soul. I love it's focus - it is all about Jesus and what he has done, and RESTING in that. So easy to forget! I needed to read this so badly! Stop striving. Start resting. Let the amazing grace and truth of the Gospel transform you.

Foundational. J.D. Greear reminds us of the power of the Gospel to radically change us, not because of what we do for God but because of what God has already done through His Son, Jesus Christ. Pastor J.D. reminds us to rest in what Christ accomplished on the cross and allow the great love of God to be the lone motivating factor that drives everything we do...even rest.

The Power of the Gospel. I'm so glad I bought this book. God spoke to the heart of Pastor JD and from it comes enlightenment to the everlasting love of Jesus Christ. I have been saved since I was 15 years and have never been exposed to the truth of the Gospel as this. I have a MA Degree in Pastoral Counseling and my professors never addressed the Gospel in such a way that has impacted my life as this book.

Breathless by the Gospel!. This book had me reeling with knowledge of Gospel-freedom, Gospel-desire, and Gospel-adoration. Rather than crumbling under the weight of what I need to do for Christ, I rise in joy in the excitement and veneration for what He has done for me through the Cross! The Gospel is the point- this is where it begins, and this is where it will be completed. The book reminds us of our often futile works, when done without the core base of the Gospel as the reason for them. Instead, you are left with the attitude of "with what Christ has done for me, how could I not??" Thank you, Pastor JD, for this reminder!

Must Read. Every Christian needs to read this book. Especially those of us living in the southern "church culture!"

Refreshing to the soul. Every Christian has a need for a deeper understanding and appreciation for the love that God has demonstrated toward us through the Gospel. J.D. Greear does and excellent job of pointing the reader to the beauty of the gospel and how it should serve as the center of the Christian life.
