Odd Apocalypse by Dean Koontz Book Summary

“Koontz gives [Odd Thomas] wit, good humor, a familiarity with the dark side of humanity—and moral outrage.”—USA Today

Once presided over by a Roaring ’20s Hollywood mogul, the magnificent West Coast estate known as Roseland now harbors a reclusive billionaire financier and his faithful servants—and their guests: Odd Thomas, the young fry cook who sees the dead and tries to help them, and Annamaria, his inscrutably charming traveling companion. Fresh from a harrowing clash with lethal adversaries, they welcome their host’s hospitality. But Odd’s extraordinary eye for the uncanny detects disturbing secrets that could make Roseland more hell than haven.

Soon enough the house serves up a taste of its terrors, as Odd begins to unravel the darkest mystery of his curious career. What consequences await those who confront evil at its most profound? Odd only knows.

Awesome book. Another great story about a man called oddie. This book was great to read, my second full iBook. The story was full of everything your would expect from Koontz. Can't wait for the next one. And when is that movie coming out - (expletive)!

Oddest adventure to date. It seems this series runs in pairs. 1, 3, and 5 are amazing and crazy adventures with 2 and 4 laying back and keeping it real. Brother Odd is still my favorite but I enjoy this books for the same mind-bending reasons. It flies on the edge of science and reality and gives Odd's powers a real workout. I can't wait to see what the next famous ghost wants in the next book!

Odd Apocalypse. I love the Odd series! Thank you for keeping his adventures going! Can't wait for the next book!

Good. As all Odd Thomas novels, this one is good except for one thing: A lot of the time Dean Koontz goes overboard on explaining, then explaining again.

Unlike the Others. This book left me always wondering what was happening, what was going to happen, and how was he going to get out of the fix he was in. Always on the edge of seat.

Entirely trilling. For someone who never wanted to read, something about how Dean Koontz conveys his words helps bring vivid images to mind when one reads them. I spent my childhood not wanting to waste my time in books, however I managed to come across the book of his the phantoms. Then I found the first in the Odd series. I've been thrilled by Odd the the whole step of the way. I enjoy from the corner of his eyes and life expectancy. The words on the page come to life in my mind to paint great pictures m

Quick fix. Had zero issues of skipped, repeating or missing text with this book but before I began reading I changed the font size and type. I've noticed with other books with missing lines/text cut in half, changing the font always fixed the issues.

Odd again. I'd forgotten how philosophical and wondrous about the workings of life Dean Koontz can be. Greatly enjoyable sci fi, horror, and mystery tale. Look forward to the next Odd book.

Surprisingly boring!. Usually like these books for a quick read but this one was slow moving. Odd is not as interesting as he used to be in this book and it seemed the story rambled on too long before the predictable ending. Hopefully a good Stephen King book will come out again soon to make me forget about the waste of time I had struggling to finish it. Ho Hum.

Very disappointed!!. All I can say is I'm glad I got it at the library and didn't waste my money. Was very dissapointed in the book and Mr. Koontz for rambling about details instead of taking us into the story and keeping us on the edge.

Odd and effective. Great story. Great hero. Great plot shift. Great book. Need I say more?

Amazing. Odd is always such a good read, the only bad part is the last page as you always want more

Wonderful!. Exactly what I was looking for in a Dean Koontz novel, Odd Thomas is my favorite.

Another wonderful Odd adventure. Odd Thomas is such a wonderful protagonist. He's the most unlikely of heroes, but then again, that's what makes him such a likable hero. I've read all of the Odd Thomas stories and they are all entertaining. Mr. Koontz has the rare ability to combine: suspense, supernatural, humor, action and horror into the same novel and make it all work. If you've read the previous Odd Thomas books, then this is a continuation of his journey, and you won't be disappointed. If this is your first Odd Thomas adventure, you won't be lost because Mr. Koontz fills in the important backstory events during the course of this book. If you haven't read any of the previous novels, you're in for a treat, and you'll want to read the previous books to read more about Odds adventures. I can't wait until the next Odd Thomas novel is published! This one went by so fast.

Good book. As others noted, this is a good read.

There r no missing pages or errors in this book!. People, there are no errors in the book, only reader error. When you get to a page that seems to be cut off or just ends weird, you need to turn your IPad sideways to show a 2 page open book look. There you will see the rest of the page or sentence. Mr. Dean Koontz has made no proof reading errors!!! As far as the story goes, it is great! A perfect Dean Koontz thrilling read. Karen

More Odd. A great continuation of a wonderful series. As all the previous books, it's new and interesting all the way through.

Odd Love. I love the entire Odd Thomas series. Can't wait for the next one!

Odd Apocalypse. Disappointing! Never thought I'd say that about a Dean Koontz novel. Too much detail about the mansion and the strange, complex machinery in it and too little happening in the story. The story itself seemed too contrived and far out. A high price paid for a poor read. Wish I had my $ back!

Odd Apocalypse - Amazing. I love Dean Koontz books, this one is no exception! But more than that I love what lies within & beneath his stories!

Odd Apocalypse. Great book in the Odd series. A most read for those who are reading the series.

Great. For those having problems, it happens when you shift the book from one view to another. Tap library, then the book again an it will fix itself. The problem is with ireader not the book. Stop rating this book poorly based on your ineptitude.

!. Another great one by Koontz. I have read all His books and am chomping at the bit till march comes and the next one is realesed!

Love this series!. Dean koontz never disappoints! I've been reading his books since 1986 and his writing is as visual as ever! I always remember his characters as if I've watched the movie( kind of confusing) and I love that he loves his dogs!!

Another Odd book to treasure. I have read and enjoyed every book Dean K has written. This one is such a powerhouse of an emotional roller coaster for the enduring Odd Thomas. I love this character so much. I can't wait to know what happens with Annmarie and to find out who she is!!!

Odd Apocolypse. Odd is so likable and humorous, loving and brave. An exciting read.

Fabulous!. I loved it so much, but now I have sadness in my heart because I have to wait so long for the next Odd installment.

Loved it!. Typical Dean Koontz giving me another amazing adventure with Odd Thomas. Loved every chapter. As usual, I cannot wait for the next one. P.S. Read the book landscape, change the font/font size and missing pages are no longer problem. Use your heads people and try to solve problems yourselves. These comments are for reviews of the material, not for complaining.

Could have been....... The story was good, but it read extremely slow, almost like the author was trying to just fill the pages. Very little actually happened, but a lot of pages to get there. Normally the story just flows, but not, disappointingly, this time. Overall I liked the book, just expected more.

Odd Thomas. Odder than normal. Excellent!

Super fun read. Great story! Each new story brings in new ideas and incredible things with which Odd Thomas must deal, but the central ethos remains pure. I highly recommend this series.

Want more. I really want to see Chris Snow and friends meet Odd Thomas. Frankenstein and Slim McKenzie meeting up with Odd would be so interesting!

Odd Apocalypse. Odd Thomas is by far my favorite character. I find I love the suspense and a little bit of the horror; and Odd's gentle soul. Who else could weave such a sad story about the grim properties of the human race; and still make you feel that there is hope yet. Well done.

Fantastic. A gem as always. Each Odd Thomas gets better and draws you in.
