Death by Marriage by Jaden Skye Book Summary

A well-known criminal lawyer is found dead in a back alley in St. Thomas, and Cindy and Mattheus are called in to investigate by the grieving widow. The local police have pinned her for the murder, and Cindy and Mattheus are her last hope in vindication.
As Cindy and Mattheus dig deeper into the victim’s past, they learn that all was not as rosy as it seemed. They discover mistresses, gambling debts, vendettas, and a number of people who had motivation to want him dead. Most shocking of all, as they dig even deeper, they discover a whole secret life that he lead, one so lurid that the people who knew him best can hardly even conceive it.
As a hurricane closes in and the police are insistent, despite all evidence, to arrest the widow, Cindy and Mattheus find themselves in a race against time to find the killer. When another body turns up, all involved realize the stakes may be even higher than they seem. And as Cindy and Mattheus develop feelings for each other, each grieving from the death of their own spouse, Cindy comes to realize there is even more at stake than she thinks.
DEATH BY MARRIAGE is Book #3 in the Caribbean Murder series, following DEATH BY HONEYMOON (Book #1) and DEATH BY DIVORCE (Book #2).

Death by Marriage. Quick and engaging read

Kat. Good book! I like this series. Keep it up.

Dearh by marriage. Good beach read. PattiDG

Very poorly edited and proofed. I agree with many of the other comments. Characters changing names and poor punctuation make this look like a cut and paste job from another manuscript. Good airplane book, quick read without much substance

Love the series, but.... The typographical errors have gotten worse in each book. I absolutely loved the first book and wanted to continue the series, however the number of mistakes in spelling and punctuation have been ridiculous. Also, there have been a number of times when the wrong character name was used and in one instance a name was used that wasn't even part of the story! I won't be continuing the series due to the inconsistencies, especially since the price of the books keep increasing. Why pay $5.99 for a book that's completely unreadable? Ms. Skye is a very good author who just needs to hire a good proofreader for her iBooks.

Terrible writing but strangely addictive. Terrible plot, non existent character development, obvious statements that treat readers like idiots and chock full of editing errors - grammar, spelling, punctuation. But strangely addictive. Something about the setting I think allows the author to get away with so much. Bought the first few books but this is the last.

Coolgm. Enjoyed the book. A page turner. Kept me guessing.

Death by Divorce. I've just finished reading this book. I've also read books one and two and am about to start with Book 4. I have thoroughly enjoyed these stories. It seems each succeeding book is better than the one before it. I enjoy the Caribbean setting. Having been there it puts me right in the scenes. I am reading these in an iPad version and have noticed mistakes missed by the proof-reader. It may be as the result of formatting from hard cover to an electronic format. However I am still giving this book a 4-star rating.

Well written, clean, suspenceful. Most writers assume they have to use bad language or pornographic descriptions to write a mystery, but this author has successfully written a mystery using "just" an excellent plot, well thought out. Great job!

Death by marriage. Please have someone check the grammar--singulars vs. plurals and pronouns of all kinds No excuse!

Wow!. You must read . It's really good . I am glad it's free because there is a lot of Misspell word on it and it need to proof read .wow , Paul was one business men . When is the author going to put Matthew and Cindy together ?

Great story, bad editor.. The spelling, grammatical, and simply wrong names were ridiculous. It was really confusing during conversations when suddenly a Wendy replied. Outside of this the series and story lines are great.

Death by Marriage. I enjoyed reading about the Caribbean since I have visited the islands several times. The only things I found distracting was the repeating of some words, leaving out some words and the wrong punctuation in some areas. I love Cindy's adventures.

Amazing. Great story some spelling errors but amazing

Don't waste your time. I only downloaded the iBook because it was free....thank goodness. This is the only book in the series I have read, and it will be my last. The only reason I read it was because the entertainment system wasn't working on my flight from LAX to ATL. As others have said, the grammar and punctuation was horrific. Shame on the editor. I am a fan of the mystery/fiction genre with such greats as Ludlum, Baldacci, Coben, Coulter and Flynn...this is at best on a 7th grade reading level....don't waste your time.

Who was the editor?. This book was a good read but I was constantly distracted by the editing mistakes. No paces after periods, quotation marks where they don't belong, the character "Kendra" was even called Wendy at one point and back to Kendra in the next sentence. My 9 year old could have edited this better.

Death by honeymoon. Loved the story couldn't put it down

Death by Honeymoon, by Divorce, by Marriage series. I enjoyed the "Death by..." series; however, the numerous typos were distracting and annoying. This author needs a better editor/proofreader.

Amateurish. Fortunately this book was free because it was awful. It was amateurish, shallow, and a grammatical mess. She takes half as long to solve a complex case as a good writer would by leaving out a huge amount of important detail. Don't waste your time with it.

Death by Marriage. Simple, childlike narrative of a murder mystery. Ok for a light read.

Death by Divorce. I agree with lot of reviewers that the typos and misspelling are annoying. I have only read the first two books but the 2nd one definitely had more errors. I don't know if I will continue with the series. I read Death by Divorce in about 2 hours - pretty simple reading.

Again a great read. Loved the story, with the twists and turns. Still needs a better editor. I'm not an English major, but was put off by the grammar errors.

Good story but still poor editing. While the stories are good, there are still issues with grammar, punctuation and this time several character names were confused/switched. Not as bad as book 2 though. Also one paragraph was totally repeated. She needs to fire her proofreader and if she doesn't have one then she desperately needs to hire one. Due to the issues in my first paragraph I rate the book low.

Death by Marriage. This was a very good story, I like the fact that she changed it up from some of her other books. I really like the fact that there's no profanity in the books that she writes. I noticed though that there was a lot of misspelled words. But all in all I will probably read the rest of her books.

Good read. Great mystery!! Can't wait to read the next one!! Few typos but not as Many as the last book

death by marriage. Rather elementary and has many grammatical errors. The story cannot be believed because no person such as our heroin could have access so easily to information like she does.

Errors!. The plot was good but there are hundreds of grammatical errors on top of the fact that she mixed up the characters throughout. If you can get past these, it's a good book.

Death by marriage. This book was pretty good. You have to look past all the grammar mistakes. These books should be better reviewed before they are printed

Ok. Whilst I liked the story, the writer kept mixing up the names, which was really irritating. Needed better proof readers.

Death by Marriage. Excellent novel , have loved all three books in the murder series ... Death by honeymoon , death by divorce and this one death by marriage .. Believable characters , and a good paced plot lines .. Will be getting the next book in the series .

Death by marriage. An outstanding story but the many errors in the text were irritating!

Good story. Great characters, good story. Author needs to employ a proof reader and a proper editor. Horrible punctuation and constant grade school grammar errors.

Captivating. I've been reading the first three books in the series over the last few days and love following the story. Once you look past the bad (sometimes nonexistent) editing, the book are great.
