Hard to imagine. It is hard to imagine how this gifted writer keeps getting better! This may be his finest yet, and so we will continue to eagerly await the next Gabriel Allon.... for the duration of the tale, you allow me the blessing of not remembering all that still needs to be done for my demented patients, some of whom, a few, still remember the Holocaust, in a terribly personal nightmare... ec md

Wow. Every time the books get better, I am already waiting for the next

Classic Silva. Fallen Angel is typical Silva. If you liked his last several novels you will like this one as well. The climax is a little abrupt and short-lived, but per Silva's style, trends towards being more realistic than "Hollywood." Great historical context within the setting of the finale. Good read.

Fallen Angel. Thoroughly enjoyed the book. While it wasn't my favorite in the series, I still savored every page and couldn't put it down. Looking forward to the next book.

Fallen Angel. This is the second Silva book I did not finish. I wish Silva would write about the Holocaust.

Daniel Silva does it again!. This book is so interesting and has many true facts that make it an educational piece of fiction for all to read I loved it

Outstanding, again.. You never know where Daniel Silva will take you, but it took me only about 30 pages to once again become totally enthralled with this latest offering. The end could be just a bit more redemptive, but the journey is superb. Once again, outstanding effort from Mr Silva.

The fallen angel. As a catholic, i appreciate his description of the Vatican and its inner workings. As a human being, I cannot feel but sadness at the misguided Muslim belief system. So out of touch with reality. It will end in disaster. The world will suffer greatly as well as our Jewish friends.

Odd story telling. This is my first Silva novel and I found the plot line disjointed. He starts with a Dan Brown "Angels and Demons" Vatican setup that morphs into a C grade Tom Clancy anti terrorist riff. Odd build ups to action sequences and then skips the action(At the synagogue attack in Vienna for instance) It just seems off, like a draft needing an editor.

The fallen angel. I couldn't wait to read another captivating novel in the allon series. Having been to Israel several times as well as to Rome, I felt like I was there step by step with gabriel on his insane missions on behave of the state of Israel. Daniel silva's writing skills are unparalleled. The way he brings prior escapades into the current story is a great refresher.

Master Writer. Sentence development and paragraph construction plus story telling makes Silva one of my most favorite author. I wish he would write more with Allon as the main character. I am impatient waiting 12 months.

good crappy book. We all need a good crappy book during those lazy summer vacations, and The Fallen Angel is perfect in this category.

Great read!. I got the sample book and got hooked. The suspense was maintained until the end and it was a very entertaining and easy read. The story was well put together and I enjoyed how the story continued to evolve as the pages turned. Just when you thought a story was coming to an end it compounded and got you hooked again to see what happens next.

Summer joy. I so look forward to my 2 days with Gabriel Allon each summer. The first few pages brings you back to the joy that only Daniel Silva Can deliver with his amazing plots, and fabulous characters. I am so glad that I have added this book to my collection, as I have read all the others at least twice, I know I will enjoy this book again.

Spy Novel, or Political Propaganda ?. I first read Silva’s later novels, and then decided to read the earlier ones, like this one. Silva definitely views his writing as a platform for political expression. In the later novels, Silva conveys a sense of shared responsibility for the Israeli/Arab conflict; not equally, of course, but suggesting that Israeli policies have worsened – not improved – the situation. And I find it interesting that in these earlier novels he portrays Israel as 100% blameless. Is this because the policies of the Israeli government were vastly different between the time of the early and later novels’ writings ? If you are looking for a spy novel, know that you’re going to get a whole lot of political propaganda when reading Silva - it’s not subtle. But he is a gifted and well-researched writer, even if he’s only a so-so crusader.

The Fallen Angel. This is my first Silva book. As a lot of the good thrillers, a little hard to follow at times. I loved the history and connection to the current political climate. Looking forward to another Silva book.

Fantastic. Well written. Fast paced. Detailed. Timely. Gabriel is the best character of the century. Silva is a master of his trade and I can't wait for the next one.

Fantastic as usual. Just a great page turner! Beautiful descriptions and the places and people jump off the pages. Silva is the best he has ever been with this one.

Fallen Angel Soars. Well another great book and it was a real page turner. I read it on a plane and between flights. I could not to,wait for the flight attendant to say we reached the right altitude so I could turn on my I-pad. All the characters melded so well together that it made the plot just click. The story line has a lot of new items in it that are current today and worked well in the plot. You can feel the affection Allon has for his new wife, his deceased child, his sick wife, his team and his old friend who is now the "Office" chief. It also allows Allon to become more, aware of his love for his homeland. The action is a tad slower in past books, but, Silvas writing of Allons new closer relationship with the Pope and the investigation process made up for the lack of BIG action like in the last book. Yet when there was action is was really well done and the real Allon came back and still had it. I would recommend this book to anyone for a quick and fun read. Well done!

Silva at His Best. This is another winner from Daniel Silva. My favorite fictional character, Gabriel Allon, does not disappoint in this unusual tale. I love the way Allon's character continues to develop as he ages, and find the stories continue to fascinate! The historical backstory blends art and religion brilliantly, as always. These books should be required reading for young people!

Nothing special. I can't recommend this novel. It just isn't up to the standards Silva set with his early books. In fact, this one is just a tired re-hash of the past couple of works. It starts out interesting, a woman falls from the dome of St. Peter's just as Gabriel is restoring an important painting for the Vatican, but this event is just a tease. Soon, we slowly find ourselves right back where we always find ourselves, Gabriel getting his team together to fight some bad guys. Except thatbthese bad guys are dull. The gathering of Allon's agents could have been plucked from passages in other Silva thrillers. The writing is virtually the same. It's actually rather tiresome. We read the same old stuff about Gabriel and his wife in Vienna, Gabriel and Chiara fretting about things, and Shamron muttering about life. The descriptions of the members of Gabriel's team are exactly the same. The story is thin and things happen without much rich story-telling. The villains are thinly developed. I was a fan of Silva's novels, but this one proves that he needs to go outside his comfort zone and find some new storylines. It's as if he's writing books just to be able to go to Rome or Paris or Tel Aviv or Vienna. Silva goes from A to B to C without much energy and absolutely no suspense. I didn't like this one at all. It's hugely disappointing. It really is a case of it being too familiar to be exciting. Been there, done that. No surprises anywhere. And the writing isn't sharp at all.

Average compared to His previous work. It appears this one was rushed, i did not enjoy it as much as i anticipated. the plot and sequence of events is OK, the bias is obvious, and was dissappointed after ready 2/3 of the book, i knew that the thrilling ends we're used to will not be part of this book.

This book rocks. Another page turner. Silva creates a connection between the characters plot and readers Very well done

The Fallen Angel. I normally don’t write reviews, I just leave star ratings, but I was compelled to do so because of a review that popped up when I was reading the plot for this book. The reader gave it one star and said the book lacked the excitement of the previous books in this series. I quite disagree. It had its exciting moments and expected cliffhangers, but there were also many Machiavellian moments where you seriously get into the head of many of the players, as well as learn a little history. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of five is that it was much shorter than most. Still, the pages pack quite a punch and deliver all you could ask of a Daniel Silva Gabriel Allon novel with the exception of length. I have read all the novels as they came out but this time I’ve starting at the beginning and am reading them all back to back.

Daniel Silva, the truly gifted. Every time I begin reading his latest work, I have a small fraction of doubt that it could stand up with his great novels of the past. Said doubt quickly vanished as I began reading this masterpiece. Twists and turns abound. Action-packed and emotional. This could be his best yet. Disappointment averted. Elation embraced.

Fantastic, as always!. A remarkable read. Can't wait until the next one!

The Fallen Angel. Just when you think Gabriel and his team couldn't do more, DS comes through again. Couldn't put it down.

Another incredible Silva masterpiece. As has come to be expected from Mr. Silva, a great Allon novel that won't disappoint. Action and details that keep you turning page after page long into the night!

Brillant. Gabriel Allon books are so good I intentionally read them slowly: I don't want them to end. They bring me much needed relaxation and enjoyment from my hectic work-filled life. THANK YOU Daniel Silva. Regards, Dan in SP Brazil

Tommy. I can't wait to read this. I started reading Daniel Silva books about 1 1/2 years ago and I'm all caught up. Now I have to wait around like the rest of you.

Fallen Angel. Pretty boring compared to others in this series I have read.

Anne Rainone. Excellent continuation of the Gabriel Allon series. Daniel Silva continues to create stories that are impossible to put down. He brings his characters to life while educating his readers. His books are so tuned into our current political climate. I'm always sad to complete one of his books because now I'll have a long wait until the next one!

Fallen Angel. This is without a doubt one of the best from Silva. Explosive throughout. Highly detailed. And Allon takes his place amongst the most dangerous spies in the world.

The Fallen Angel. A wonderful story. I'm just sorry it's over. Looking forward to Gabriel's next adventure.

Fallen angel. Great read. Lots of action, hard to put down

An intensely Truthful book. Yes, I know it is fiction. But it is excellent Jewish fiction. I pray Daniel comes to know personally the God so casually dismissed by Gabriel. This is a superb book.

Fallen Angel. A good pot boiler , not great. The locals and background kept it interesting but the characters didn't spring to life. There were hints to a richer backstory but not truly developed.
