Worth the read. It can be a little muddled and confusing at times (at least to me), but I liked it overall. Worth a read.

A charming tale of kidnapping, rescue, and adventure. Disclaimer: I have not seen the movie. This is an enjoyable, well written novel. Some of the phrases and words are dated, but the definitions help clear most of it up. It had a great story, and I was disappointed that it ended.

Wonderful. A very mysterious book about a strange love story that will stay with you long after the last page.

This Will Explain Everything.... After a confusing start, the book settles into a very vivid and suspenseful read. If youโ€™ve seen the musical (and who hasnโ€™t), it will help you make sense of the bookโ€™s beginning scenes, background, and characters; especially if youโ€™re unaccustomed to all the French references, as I was. Unlike other reviews here, I feel like the musical stays fairly close to the book (a point that will not be lost on anyone who has read Wicked after seeing the musicalโ€”seriously??) absent the Persian: โ€œ Did I not say Box 5 is to be kept empty?โ€ and โ€œDon Juan Triumphant.โ€ The book also gives us more insight into Erik. It really is an awesome read that stands on its own and quite scary even by todayโ€™s gory, bloated standards.

Phantom Of The Opera by Gaston Leroux. I have read this masterpiece over 35 times and every time I read it again I love it more. I would recommend it to everyone. There is pain, passion, humor, obsession and most of all love. You will never be the same after reading this wonderful book. My two favorite characters are Erik and the Persian.

My favorite book. This book is wonderful! I loved it when I read a physical copy of it and I just had to have it on my phone. Since I read the book I have fallen in love with the music from the broadway production and the storyline that came from it. This book inspired my favorite musical, and favorite music! Please read it, it's wonderful.

Still my favorite book after ten years. I'm an absolute fangirl when it comes to this book. I try to read it once a year, and I react to the story the same way every time. I read this book before seeing the movies and plays, and I don't feel any of them hit home. It's all about that ending, and I have yet to see a movie/play where they keep to the book and provoke the same emotional response.

Before you review. This was written in the 1800's way before the play, broadway or movie. Don't say that this version is a bad book version.

I love this book!!!!!. This book is amazing! I love it and the story and have read it multiple times. This book is just so well written that, upon my first completion of the novel, I even wondered if the opera ghost were real given the realistic way he was written about. But the story is just exquisite and I would call it a classic!

Not as good as the broadway. The book was good but not as good as the broadway. I feel like the book needed some awesome singing to go with it!:)

Interesting. Such an interesting book!!

Phantom of excitement!๐Ÿ˜Š. Really enchanting storytelling!!!!

Loved it!. Really drew me in! Scary, but fun. It's no mistake that it's considered a classic.

Not like the play. If you were to read this book after having loved the play, you would think that Andrew Lloyd Webber went a little crazy with his interpretation. However, if you look at it as two different stories you will LOVE it. This truly is a good book.

Book. It was good, for the first few pages at least. it was very hard to comprehend so I just started scrolling and I tried finding the pictures, There were no pictures.

A True Classic. I absolutely love this book! My favorite character has to be the phantom. He has such a deep, unknown history that is slowly brought to light throughout the story and your opinion of him though the story is constantly changing- he could be considered a madman, genius, or really, a despised person who just wants to fit in but was never able to. The suspension in the story always keeps you wanting to read more until you reach the ending which (spoiler alert) is heartbreaking.

Lovely. I'm very happy to have read this, it's very interesting and I was hooked. It's of course very different than other interpretations but I personally think this is best. Confusing at first but you'll catch on easily. The characters are dimensional and the phantom himself is by far my favorite. The book isn't too long ( too bad ). So check it out. :)

Excellent. Thats was very mysterious and supensful and the love of the ghost was just a abosulte rose

BEST. BOOK. EVER.. The title says it all. There's so much detail and mystery. LOVE the romance and drama. I had seen the 2004 movie, but I never realized it was a book. Then, I read the book, and there was so much more detail and even MORE drama than in the movie. All in all, I loved it. ๐Ÿ˜Š

five stars. I really enjoyed this story!

I love it. The story, the characters, everything! Itโ€™s amazing how this work of literature inspired one of the longest running musicals in history 76 years later So Gaston loreaux, thank you

Phantom of the Opera. Loved it so much more than I thought I would!

Musical is better. It is pretty g ood, but the musical is better. Still read it, because some parts are excellent in detail

Haunting. This story was purely stunning. In the beginning, I was confused, having seen the play and the movie, as to who the characters were; in the middle of the story, it was chilling, but almost comical in the ways that he taunted the managers; and the ending is BEAUTIFUL. I would probably get my lopped off for saying this, but, in my opinion, the book is the original, and by far the best, interpretation. A fantastic ending, with plenty of suspense leading up to it which I had not found in the play. All in all, a fabulous story, that infused happiness and sadness in one ending, bringing me to tears, which I admit fully and to the extent of my eyes burning with a weird contentment. A classic.

Awesome๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜. This book is the best ever but if u want to enjoy the movie u need to watch it first because if u read the book first then u will see the movie and despise it for its terrible off story but i watched the movie first and even though the book and movie r different they still go along the same lines so watch the movie first!!๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜๐ŸŽฌ๐ŸŽฌ๐ŸŽฌ๐ŸŽฌ

A Beautiful Classic that needs to live on!. This book I have seen the movie at the age of 8. And have fell in love with the music, seen the opera? But never really read the book. Until now that I am in college. A book that is indeed different then the movie of course. But Needs to be read by all because it is one where people need to know that beauty is wither and that everyone in this world deserves love. So to who ever who could be reading this spread love to all where you might go because what this world need in times like this is LOVE!

it is just like the movie. this book was asome. also this book is exactly like the movie. you should get it. it ot scary.

Amazing!. It starts off slow but once it gets going its a really captivating read

Phantom of the Opera. A difficult read, maybe the style of another period but it felt to me it was written on the hoof, as each idea occurred. I thought the story lacked feeling maybe because it was written in the third Person.

kkkkkk. kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

Fantastic. Probably my favourite book of all time. A story that takes you straight into the landscape so you feel like you're living the adventures alongside the characters. A must read for any lover of mystery, romance, and dark narratives.

Phantom of the Opera. An interesting read. It's one of those books where there is no clear "good guy" or "bad guy". Is the Phantom a villain, or a victim? This was never fully explained, which made the reader think for themselves. I found it almost philosophical. In my opinion, one of the best love triangles in literature and on Broadway.

Amazing. Phantom is my favourite musical of all time and I love the book. It fully describes the story in a different aspect by the genius Gaston Leroux who started this all. It really delves deeper into the characters and their relationships with a mysterious and dramatic narration. I truly think any fan of phantom should read this book to get more insight into the story.
