Fantastic book!. What an amazing story, I have already recommended it to friends. I never in my life really knew what prison was really like, I never wanted to ask my brother how it was, but after reading this I can just imagine what he must have gone thru. This reality can definitely scare the wits of children.

Fun book. The author gets his message through whilst writing in a simple fashion, yet quite entertaining.

Inside. Book goes beyond prison life of the mid 1990s England. It's also about one's ability and willingness to acknowledge their weaknesses and take personal corrective actions in order to live life to the fullest Excellently written by someone who never should have been incarcerated in the hell holes he was placed. An incredible and very emotional account of survival, luck and golf!

A must read for our Global Youth!. Before ever reading INSIDE, I had only imagined how it must be for someone living (or going to live) on the harder side of life. Personally, I believe it should mandatory for troubled teens and young adults that are showing the propensity to fall from Grace. The parents who want their children to walk the straight and narrow (Who doesnt) should read this as a community. This book shows the arduous struggle of a good man taking respnsibility for his actions. Thank you Mr. Hoskison for your life advice and your golf tips.

Great prison book. This book is very good. Mr Hoskison has a story that could happen to anyone. He wasn't a criminal, but he wound up in prison trying to survive amongst the likes of them. I admire the story, and enjoyed reading it. Highly recommend!

Inspirational, and a wonderful read!. Loved every chapter of this gripping story.

Inside. Great account of a man who learns from hIs crime. The ending was very important to me. While John described the horrors of prison and the "system", I continually thought he was not addressing his reason for imprisonment. His last words in the book are defining. I will share this book with many of my students and counselors. If one young person can be deterred from crime, drugs, and prison, maybe the death of that man on the bicycle will not have been in vain.

Outstanding. This book is an outstanding, detailed account of life behind bars. I am a US Army Soldier and the prevention of substance and alcohol abuse is often stressed. We warn our Soldiers against drinking and driving and it repercussion. I will recommend this to them especially the younger ones. Thanks again for your story.

Fantastic Read. I bought this book whilst on holiday in Greece and having read the reviews and first sample chapter I had to buy it. I was that gripped i read it in 24hrs and it normally takes me a while to read a book. It is just an great insight into the prisons and how people get through it. John was amazing to keep going and stay on the straight and narrow. Great book, well worth a read.

My first book. This is the first book I have read since school (around 20 years ago). I found this very well written book easy to read and highly addictive. Congratulations to Mr John Hoskison for writing and sharing his truly awesome story!

Inside. A truly honest, scary and thought provoking picture of England's prisons. It's very well written making the normal man think that his "It'll never happen to me" attitude sometimes does and can. I have read 'Name and Number' too and although it is fiction, it clearly has an element of truth behind the story. I read both books within two weeks, real page turners and I would highly recommend both of them. They really make you think twice about taking risks that I guess cross our minds everyday.

Rivetting. A great book really opens your eyes to prison life. More and more times you read in the media about Prison being a soft option or more like holiday parks But after reading this account of prison life it made me Shudder to try and understand how anyone could even Contemplate re-offending. A great story both horrific and yet at times sad.

Inside. I found this book entitled "Inside" by John Hoskison most inspiring and at times quite moving. The author took me right into the heart of the prisons which one assumes would be run like clockwork, in military fashion....not so! I have recommended this book to my son, a keen sportsman, and to various friends. I thoroughly enjoyed it and look forward to reading his next book.

We have all struggled to say no to friends before and I know I have driven when over the legal alcohol limit - never again after reading Johns nightmare! Inside is a very well written page turner. inspirational but scary. This book is a great read.. I couldn't put it down.. I've always thought prisons were a soft touch but after reading this I'm satisfied they aren't.. but neither should they be!!

Emotional. So insightful - a life was lost which is heartbreaking and devastating, but the compassion the family showed was inspiring - they saw before them a man that made a terrible decision but was not bad, that cannot be easy when you lose your son, husband, brother.. Your insight to prison life was raw and definitely made me think that we are making all the wrong decisions with prison life. I hope your story keeps getting heard. I wish you all the best.

Exceptional. It is not often that I read a book cover to cover, this one was an exception. This open and honest account is inspirational and I think anyone who thinks that prison is easy should read this book. I was taken aback by the compassion showed within these pages and the story surrounding this individuals time in prison. Don't look at this book just as an account of life inside it is an insight into the fact that despite hitting rock bottom you can survive adversity, life lessons abound. Thank you John.

Brilliant!. I have just completed reading this book and I can honestly say that not only was it the best one I've read, it was also by far the most inspiring. I'm 15 years old and this book has definitely opened my eyes to the reality of prison and the consequences of crime. I regularly read newspapers and they really do paint pictures of how they want prison life to appear. I honestly now have realised that I should not let these false newspaper stories influence my perception on prison life. Such a brilliant book I'd recommend it to anyone ad everyone!

Excellent. Very good read which gives one some insight into life behind bars. I related to this book in many ways, but most importantly it has helped me to reflect and think about my own life where certain events could have changed my life forever!

Don't usually write reviews.... I am also a professional golfer and this is well worth a read, an excellent insight into the mind of a hard working, ambitious and thoughtful man who's life gets turned upside down, portraying the day to day fear, hardship and corruption of today's prison system! Would recommend to anyone!

Brilliantly written and hit my heart. I don't really read books but due to my grandma being killed by being hit by a car I was intrigued to see how this book went. I could feel for the lady that had done this to my grandma and after the court case I cuddled her saying she be ok and I knew it was not on purpose. This book is so well written I could not put it down and the good the people inside has done for younger adults and children makes me get a glow inside.

BRILLIANT. An honest and sometimes heartbreaking account of life inside some of Britains prisons, from a man who made just one simple mistake.....

An honest and grabbing story. We all make mistakes and John certainly made his. A professional successful golfer, one day he killed a cyclist in a car accident whilst under the influence of alcohol. This book tells his story. It is such an honest account of what (and how it) happened, and his dreadful experience in prison that many times you are left feeling that 'this could have happened to me'. It is well written and hard to put down. If anything it will hopefully make drink-drivers think twice before getting behind the wheel of a car as he shows the consequences can be devastating. Well worth a read!

Inspired me to be a better person!! Awesome!. I read this book in 14 hours. I literally couldn't put it down. It's a well written, interesting, frightening, emotional roller-coaster which shows what can happen by making one silly mistake. I think it should be given to anyone as a warning to stay on the straight an narrow, not to drink and drive or fall into a life of crime, to stay away from drugs and to anyone who believes (like me) the stories They have read in the paper about prison being like a holiday camp. Self righteous garbage. According to this dribble, prisons and the brave staff who work within the walls are the real criminals!! What trash this book is from a man who minimizes a horrible crime, served a pitifully short sentence and then believes he has all the answers to solve the 'evils' of the criminal justice system. Absolute rubbish, no wonder it was for free!!

I couldn't put it down. This is one book that every youth needs to read, If you know someone heading down the wrong path make them read it or if they won't, read it to them. Amazing

INSIDE - A True Story. This is a well written book that instantly captures a reader's interest. This is due to its humble and honest portrayal of the author himself. John Hoskison's story could be anybody's, yours or mine. At no point does he back away from the sheer awfulness of what he had to face and endure. His prison experience is frightening and I feel it should be a must read for young people starting out. a lapse in judgment can change a life for the worse so quickly. If this true story prevents just one person entering the prison system it will be worthwhile.

Very thought provoking. Very well written, once I started reading this book I could not put it down. You begin to feel for the people being written about and can only imagine how terrible his ordeal was. A real insight to life behind bars from someone who made a mistake, not from someone who set out to hurt someone intentionally. I have never been to prison-and never hope to. it makes you feel very lucky to have the privilege of freedom and taking the smaller things in our lives for granted.

Inside -a true story. Scary details, interesting read.

Eye Opening. John does a fantastic job at opening the public's eyes toward the prison "inside" in Britain. Not only did he live to tell his tale, but he also changed the lives of the youths that were heading down a road of crime. John showed remorse for his crime upon entering prison but definitely learned some valuable lessons upon leaving. Excellent book.

Inside a true story. Great book

Excellent book!. John's ability to overcome his own perceptions, based on the life he had lived before incarceration, and tempered by his ability to survive intact and make a difference is inspiring. The way he relates the stories of his inside mates (without unjustly exposing them to society's or more importantly deadly prison judgement) is captivating, and his own personal experiences, without dwelling on the horrific realities of a world most will never know, understand or attempt to help, is a story all should read. (As a personal aside)...... Bless you John for holding your own, admitting and forgiving your faults and preconceptions of self, paying your debt to society, endorsing good people, wherever and whoever they are,and making a future for you and your family. For making a difference when most wouldn't. God speed good and humble man!

Great Story. This book gives you a good look at what really goes on inside the prison system. It was a great read that really had it all.

Great book. Interesting as there are no exaggerations and the story is too the point. Not an action story like I was hoping for but at the same time not dull. I could picture the boredom an inmate must go through. Although this author was lucky the story tells of all the dangers that exist. Provides a vivid picture of the inside and the druggies that you cope with daily. I don't get to read a lot but was able to finish this book from start to finish.
