David Ryan is the designer of ELOPe, an email language optimization program, that if successful, will make his career. But when the project is suddenly in danger of being canceled, David embeds a hidden directive in the software accidentally creating a runaway artificial intelligence.
David and his team are initially thrilled when the project is allocated extra servers and programmers. But excitement turns to fear as the team realizes that they are being manipulated by an A.I. who is redirecting corporate funds, reassigning personnel and arming itself in pursuit of its own agenda.

A chilling look at an inevitable future. Spoiler alert! The only issue was with the ending. A little more explanation on how David came to have a neural implant would have rounded the story out very nicely. Otherwise, this is a realistic look at how layers of silicon, plastic, and metal can become sentient. I am looking forward to the rest of the series. After reading the sample for book 2, I have to give a thumbs up to the very cool idea of naming the hardware after The pioneers of cyberpunk. Kudos!
Really enjoyed the story but what's up with all the mistakes?!. Has this book not been proofread? There are so many English mistakes that it is seriously distracting. Grammar, spelling, the the, missing words, etc... Pretty sure the author meant palpable, not palatable. The feeling in the room was noticeable not agreeable to the palate. Sheesh.
Avogadro corp. Really enjoyed this book. I have a keen interest in technology based fiction and computers. The first computer I had the privilege/fun/awe of using was an IBM 1130 and FORTRAN.
Is it sci fi or is it happening today ?. As a long time practitioner of the art of computer science, I find William Hertling's "Avogadro Corp" to be a thought provoking journey into a future with artificial intelligence. The discussion of software, hardware, encryption, firewalls, routers, bots within masterful storytelling lends credence to the author's depth of knowledge. I can't wait to see what happens in the next three books in this series !
A really great one for 2024. With 2023’s hype and commercial developments of generative AI, this novel is prescient and even instructive!
good read. I had a hard time putting this down. I am no computer fan but the story was riveting. I recommend this to any science fiction lover.
Near Future Sci-Fi. This book is how an A.I. Born unintentionaly could come about. It is nice to see how coders and programmers would do in a situation like this one. Leaves you with some feelings of WOW when you are done. Dont forget the other books in this series.
Great find!. While perusing the morning programs I heard the interview between William Hertling and Glenn Beck. I was intrigued with the book series and bought the first book last Thursday. I'm not a computer geek and really know very little about the tech world other than using my phone, iPad and laptop. Still I found this book fascinating and already finished the 2nd book and looking forward to the rest of the series!! These books are will written, intriguing even if you aren't a computer geek. Like I said great find!

Amazing!. This is a must read for anyone interested in AI. Shockingly enough, this book outlines a scenario which is not outside the realm of possibility within the very near future.
