Excellent read. This author had good character development and a wonderful story. The reader actually cares about the characters and the history behind their passions. Just the right length too!

Wish I heeded the advice in the reviews!. I just finished this, and only read it because I love to read books that are a part of a series, and this series starter was free. I have to echo the other reviewers about the main character. She is awful. She is so immature, haughty, and frankly not likable on any level. I couldn’t stand her ridiculous reasoning, and the way she handled situations regarding her husband in terms of communication. I would hope the rest of the series would be better, as the writing itself is solid. I’m not going to take the chance, or spend the money, as the others in this series are not free. I’m giving it 3 stars only because the author is engaging, and I appreciate her hard work.

Were it Not for the Heroine!. OMG! Let me say that the writing was great as was the story. I gave three stars because the Corie character outbursts were awful. I could've read this book in one day but I had to take breaks from Corie and her mouth. Understanding that she was young and her shoulders carried a heavy burden yet her treatment of Donovan was unforgivable. I feel that the writer should have pulled in her temper much sooner so that she would be adored.

Good, but Frustrating. "Secrets of Midnight" is my first Miriam Minger read, and I found it to be an excellent, well-written historical romance. My only criticism is that there were way too many (Cori's) uncalled-for temper tantrums. Frustrating! I felt sorry for long-suffering Donovan. Enjoyed it, though and will buy the sequel.

Secrets of Midnight. Y Secrets of Midnight 7/10 iBook. Regency. Corrie is the daughter of a country minister with a passion for helping those less fortunate, and a fiery temper. Donovan is the 2nd son of the hated Duke, who must marry a country girl to gain his inheritance.

Passionate Read!. Secrets at Midnight - The Man of My Dreams séries book 1 by Miriam Minger Corie Easton has a mission in life and that is to help the less fortunate in the mining village. She’s not the type to fall head over heels in love that’s for young debutants and her best friend Lindsey Somerset. After all she’s seen what happens to those that lose their heart....her father never was the same after her mother died. Enter Lord Donovan Trent the man that will change her life forever just as soon as she gives him a piece of her mind! Donovan Trent is in a bind according to his late father’s stipulations he needs to marry a country girl of good breeding stock.....or no inheritance! Just when he believes that finding a wife to be daunting a spitfire of a woman literally falls in his lap! It’s a win win for both, she gets the help for the miners/tinners and he gets his inheritance, what they didn’t expect is their fiery encounters to turn into an all consuming love! This is my ultimate favourite trope, marriage of convenience! I loved Donovan he has a secret that he desperately needs to find (his daughter) so he needs the money but at the same time he feels the need to help the people of the village, not looking for love. He comes off like he doesn’t care but that’s far from the truth. Corrie is scared at exposing her heart and being hurt and she hides this by letting her temper fly oh and what a temper! She’s AMAZING! Not afraid to speak her mind and speak it she does for the less fortunate, two people that truly need each other but secrets will get in their way before they realize that their love is a passionate all consuming one. Fast paced with plenty of mystery and intrigue! Secrets and villains keep the reader full of suspense and on edge, the plot was well done and the secondary characters truly enhanced the story. Lots of sizzling passion and witty dialogue made this a FANTASTIC read! Miriam Minger has a gift for storytelling that truly brings her characters to life.

Disappointed!. I read Twin Passions and was blown away at how good it was. I had high hopes for this story but as the hero called the heroine many times, she's a SHREW! Cursing, fowled mouth vicar's daughter. Very unlikable she was.
