Pleasantly surprised.. Great book. Will recommend. Changed my view on Marilyn Manson completely. He is twisted in his own ways but completely normal in others. Book did not shock me as much as I thought it would. I will read it again in the future.

Manson. Shocking! Watching for the sequel.

Loved it. Big fan, never read it until now. Love him more now.

Great Read. What an amazing book. Anton Lavey would have been proud.

A good start!. Could have been good, but then gets bogged down in its own nihilistic dogma and just rambles on and on and on... Gives you the idea that Marilyn Manson can not quite decide if he is unjustly accused to be 'evil & bad' by society, or if he is indeed the master of darkness... Some interesting bits, but no real insight into the actual man inside.

An Epic Anti-Hero Rock-Star Orgin Story. The Marilyn Manson story, is basically the story of a kid (Brian Warner) who was bullied, who grew up not only to be a bully... But also a world-famous rock star. That’s one way of reading this book, the other way is to read this book as a story of someone confronting their own trauma, their own demons, their own fears, their own emotions and insecurities; and overcoming them, to find a strength and self-assuredness they never knew they had. It’s the story of someone not only rebelling against society, and society’s expectations of them, but also transcending them to make their own place in the world. The social commentary about hypocrisy and the veneer of morality and tradition, that most people hide behind, is something that will seem either vapid or profound depending on how far you take it; and how seriously you take Manson as a person, performer, or philosopher. But what’s ultimately redeeming about a story that might otherwise simply exist to shock, to brag, or to provoke is the self-awareness and tongue-in-cheek humor of the author. You can say pretty much anything you want to about this book, but it definitely isn’t boring!

5 stars!. Great book! Couldn't put it down.

Amazing!. I love this book, Marilyn Manson should really consider making a new one sometime in the future!

Great read. Good book, a must have if your a fan and still an interesting read if your not

Well written. 4 stars because going into this book knowing nothing about him I still have much research to do on his many theories and beliefs

Dark and Twisted. The writing itself exceeded my expectation, the subject matter did not. The ultimate takeaway was that Marilyn Manson simultaneously does and doesn’t take himself seriously. It’s all an act taken too far, or not far enough depending on individual perspective. The only real emotion has to do with how people/events personally affected him. Some of his recollections, particularly about his fans, are sadistic. I suppose he could argue that these people eagerly volunteered their bodies up to him and his friends to be humiliated and abused. Adversely, one could argue that people look up to musicians and artists and the lure of gaining their approval is worth the torture. Regardless, I didn’t finish the book thinking him a good person, not at all. A good writer, better than I would have assumed, but not a good person.

😈excellent book. This book was greatly written being a huge marilyn manson fan I recommend this book

Manson is the real symbol of individuality!. Crazy stories that made Manson who he is today! Also how music was his only outlet from being what everyone says he should of been or even isn't! Great book!

Amazing read. I got this book and it was amazingly well written. His style of writing was so vivid that you almost forgot it was a biography. I would find myself thinking 'Man that's crazy, what if that really happened' and then had to remind myself it was a biography and had to simply think 'man that's crazy' but even as crazy as some of the stuff seems, it was a really amazing book

Awesome!. Big fan! Loved it

Long Hard Road Out of Hell. The book was too "shocking" to hold one's attention. Manson comes across as highly intelligent, no common sense, with a couple of good songs. After awhile, one is bored with the same story being told, yet again, in a different venue.

I love Manson!!!!. This book rocks just like him. ❤

Beautifully shocking and morbidly fascinating!. This book is one of the best books I have read. Not only did it answer many of the questions I've had in regards to Manson's career but his childhood, morals, beliefs and most importantly his art and message.

Best bio. Agree one of the best books. I have read it several times and never once got bored of it!

Brilliant. Agree in every way, most definitely the best biography I've ever read. its the book that got me into books - it showed me that unlike books we are forced to read in school, reading can be amazing and fun.

Amazing book. That's all i can say really.

Manson ❤️. A fantastic read. Honest, funny, witty, obscene, intelligent and creative. So much respect for Manson and his unique and gifted talent.

The Long Hard Road Out of Hell. Undoubtedly one of the best biographies I have ever read.

Scuzzy. Expected the bio to move into the 21st century, especially some coverage on his marriage. A good read but it's like there must be a sequel - Part 2 to come?

Great read. Best autobiography I’ve ever read.

Marilyn. Great book, interesting read!!!

When's the sequel. The 1/2 of the book was very powerfully written - the flow of language was eloquent considering the memories were what most would consider vile. The interviews, the journal entries - have a different dimension of insight into his life. But the thought came to me that perhaps the true and actual memories he has from those time and that tour are too muddled or frenzied to have the poetry he embedded into his early memories.

The Long Hard Road out of Hell. Literally, the long hard road out of hell was trying to get through this book.
