The light within me. Enjoyable read and okay book. Nothing much jumped out but it was good to read

Oh Geez... I really wanted to like this book, I really did.. but it's so blatantly obvious Fall ripped off J.R. Ward's "Black Dagger Brotherhood" series. Makes me sick, if you can't come up with your own ideas don't write a book!

Amazing!. I am not into fictional stuff, but this book was amazing! Couldn't put it down

Good. The book reminded me of the Black Dagger Brotherhood series, but less raw, sexy, and colorful. Still gave it 4 stars.

The light within Me. The concept of this story is intriguing and the love-making segments are delightfully steamy. But does anyone edit these things?? By the time I reached Chapter 4, the grammatical and sentence structural mistakes had become so irritating that I was nearly ready to quit. I hung in there though, and kept it fun -- by just highlighting the errors!

Too fast paced. I liked the concept but towards the end it was one page that they were in a middle of something and the next page was completely different. Nothing explained. Just poof different.

Boring. It is pretty boring, I thought it was going to be interesting but really they just talk about their girl problems and why it is bad that they can't love the people on earth or will lose the SR44 form. I couldn't finish reading the book it was just too boring. I really was hoping that the book was good.It was pretty to sum it up and I wouldn't recommend this to someone who wants to read a good book.

Not the worst I've read. I study literature with a focus on older British lit, so I wanted to try something I don't normally read. I couldn't make it through the sample. It was formulaic, implausible, and not at all challenging, but at the same time I think the author did a good job with the actual writing relative to the plot (not that either are very good, but that the writing is more advanced than I would have expected from the creator of this plot). There is some potential here, but what is certainly needed first is for the author to break away from the tropes that have caused so much critical damage to the reputation of young adult fiction and sci-fi in recent years. All in all, this book makes me happy to study a period of literature that is so aged that the very best works of the time have matriculated far above the rest.

Pretty good!. I actually enjoyed this book. A great twist on aliens on Earth. Considering it was free... Great book! I will definitely read more of this series, even pay for them! Good to find a new author I enjoy.

Hated it. It was hard to read in the sense it was boring, repetitive, predictable and cheesy. A Mary Sue for certain. It reminded me of an awful cliche 80's or 90's TV show that for good reason was dropped early in the season. Even the clothing and character description reeked of tacky and boarded on douche baggery(my word) It started with a small promise it might be a decent story, but it lost traction early, early on. I could go on with further warning the would be reader but wouldn't want to spoil it for those who can muster through and like this style of writing and inane story line. I even tried skipping chapters to see if along the way the story picked up or if the characters were less annoying and cheesy or at least likable in some fashion, nope, nada, no chance.

Entertaining, but poorly written.. I think I may have just read my first cheesy romance novel. The main storyline was fine (some cool points there) and the read was basically brain candy (entertaining, but no real nutritional value, so to speak). I liked the idea behind it, though. It was a bit repetitive in some places and some things seemed a little overdone. What bugged me more than anything was that there are so many grammatical, spelling, and just general errors!!! Did anyone review this book before it was released or was this a rough draft? I'm not sure there is any excuse, as it wasn't just one or even two errors. There were so many, it was distracting.

Cliche City. Good storyline, okay character development, and fast paced. Too many cliches to explain emotions. I prefer to see writers use their originality 100% as opposed to relying upon a common statement to convey a point,

The light within me. When I started to read this book I couldn't put it down. Stated at 10 am and now done at 6:10pm. It was so good I couldn't stop!

Overall. When I first downloaded it, I thought it'd be a good book. Well I'm glad to know that I'm right;). I liked the descriptions that are illustrated and the plot has some twists in it that I wasn't expecting. I was genuinely surprised by the characters and the depth of each one. Of course it helped that I just love it when the story gives the reader multiple perspectives from various characters. Lots of depth:) I definitely recommend this book! It has romance, fantasy, and a little bit action, not a complete bore that's for sure!

The Lighting Within. This is the first romance novel I've read in decades so I may be missing the nuances. Personally, I found the writing and logic to be inconsistent. I started skimming the pages to just get through it. Carly generally has a good ear for dialogue and how soldiers and Abby might speak. I'm assuming that romance is about feelings just as much of science fiction is about speculation and technology. If this were a romance between Abby and some special forces type, Carly's writing and would probably be fine. As a science fiction romance, it makes little sense. I would hope that a group of aliens with the technology and sophistication to travel across space and an absolute dedication to their mission of finding the escaped colonists would find better ways of spending their time than drinking and playing pool and video games in an underground bunker. Perhaps, that's why they've made so little progress in 200 years. Second, although they are more than 200 years old, they talk and act like young American soldiers, and not like the bicententenarians ( is there such a word?) that they are. They neither age nor gain any wisdom; Noah is unbelievably naive and given the urges that come out, it is hard to accept that he could have been celibate for 200 years while surrounded by his drinking buddies.

Great premise, but a little campy. The premise of the book was original and intriguing, but still a bit cliched. However, it was still worth the read as it was well written.

The Light Within Me. Enjoyed reading this book. Didn’t want to put in down but looked forward to picking it up till it was completed.

Gripping story. Interesting. Grammatical errors and mistakes with names and such often pulled me out of the story trying to understand but eventually realizing they were author errors.

Light. Not your typical love story…..but still a typical love story! A very nice read.
