Somehow even better than the last book. Where the first book was an astounding character study and thriller, this is a quiet, sinister, eerie murder mystery that richly explores the character of Jazz and gives unseen insight into Connie, Jazz’s fierce, loving girlfriend. Everything that the previous book excelled at, this book not only maintains, but takes to the next level. Despite being almost 600 pages, it somehow manages to not drag one, but thanks to the endlessly riveting mystery and the borderline vital importance of every single scene, it remains constantly investing. Once again, Barry Lyga, god bless you.
