Damascus Countdown by Joel C. Rosenberg Book Summary

All eyes are on the Middle East. Israel has successfully launched a first strike on Iran, taking out all of their nuclear sites and six of their nuclear warheads—and causing The Twelfth Imam to order a full-scale retaliation. US President William Jackson threatens to support a UN Security Council resolution condemning the Jewish State for unprovoked and unwarranted acts of aggression.

Meanwhile, CIA operative David Shirazi has infiltrated the Iranian regime and intercepted information indicating that two Iranian nuclear warheads survived the attack and have been moved to a secure and undisclosed location. In danger not only from the ongoing missile strikes on Iran but also from the increasingly hostile and suspicious governments of multiple countries, David and his team are in a race against time to find the remaining nuclear warheads before disaster strikes.

Nonstop thriller!. Love this book as well as the previous two in the series! Can't put it down!

Damascus countdown. This book is horrible. It shouldn't be in the fiction or thriller section is should be in religion section. This book is not for entertainment it to convert you to Christianity. Waste of time and money.

Terrible Book!!!. How this book made it on the shelfs is beyond me! Give me Vince Flynn and Clancy any day, but Rosenberg's adaptation of this genre threatens a host of talented authors with his unrelenting gospel trash.

Too much JC. Wish I read more reviews. This book should be classified as religious. Way too much Jesus, Christianity crap. Save your money, I wish I could get by $12 back.

Another Winner!!. Rosenberg continues to amaze his readers with another masterful story line that so closely resembles the real world, it's scarey. Job well done again. Can't wait for the next book.

Amazing. I loved all of the three books and i'm looking forward to read more books from thid author

Don't waste money. More religion than story. Hero is laughable as s the way intelligence operatives actions are portrayed. Save your $$

Damascus countdown. Fantastic again. You are truly blessed.

Could've warned us. There was more preaching about Jesus than any Sunday School I've been to. The story became over the top unbelievable when all that didn't accept Jesus became evil or deluded. This is propaganda thinly veiled.

Wow good book. I loved this book, very well done, I did not want to put it down. Ki Rabe

Damascus Countdown. Sample very misleading, all religious evangelizing, really bad

Gripping!. Joel Rosenberg did it again! Just like the other two books in the series I did not want to put this one down! Thankful for Joel Rosenberg's ministry and his humble approach to Ezekiel 38-39 and Isaiah 17. Hope a new series is coming!

Another excellent piece of work. I was so glad the Joel tied up a lot of loose ends in this book. My only "complaint" (if you can call it that) was that I felt he started this book near the end of the last, but then he spent the first couple of chapters really adding a lot to and even changing up the events as were described at the end of Tehran Initiative. But just as gripping as all the rest.

Another crazy page turner. I love how Joel gets you hooked from the first chapter! And even better is his ability to bring the gospel the every reader! Lord continue to bless the Rosenberg family!

Damascus Countdown. Remarkable, again! Are you reading fiction or looking at tomorrow's news?

Damascus Countdown. I so enjoy Joel's books. They are total page turners, but also include the scriptures out of The Word of God that describes exactly what is going on today. These books are ripped right out of the headlines that we see in the news today👍. 10 Stars

Damascus Countdown. Stunning narrative, and, real connectives with today's Middle East make this Rosenberg thriller an all-nighter. Believers in action!

Good plot, but too religious!. The plot reads like a good Tom Clancy novel, but I was surprised by the heavy Christian component throughout the book. The author was preaching through his characters. It was rather uncomfortable and unexpected, yet the plot was strong enough to keep me engaged. Still, I feel like the religious component detracted from the storyline -I wasn't expecting a religious fiction story, but rather an action/thriller novel. I wish I had known what I was buying, I probably would have stayed away from it.

Damascus Countdown. Amazing! Couldn't put it down!! Thank you so much Joel for your dedication to Bible Prophesy and the ability to write fact into a wonderful book of intrigue and fiction! God Bless you and God Bless Isreal!

Fantastic.. Next one please!

The Twelfth IMAM. This is only the second book I have read of his. They have both been close to the truth and so real that I am taking a back. I can feel that God has giving him some great gift to write these books.

Absolutely could not put this ebook down!!. Have read Joel's books from the very first one. This book moved so rapidly that at times I felt out of breath! I highly recommend it! My husband and I had the blessing of traveling to Israel for an Epicenter Conference in Jerusalem and then traveled with the ministry throughout the country almost two years ago. We have been in places in this book, especially Tiberias on the Sea of Galilee and Sderot near the Gaza Strip. Israel and her people are in our prayers continually. I have often told friends that Israel is "between a rock and a hard place" and survive in a very dangerous neighborhood. I have learned that some events Joel writes as fiction based on Biblical prophecy come true...usually quickly! Read this one RIGHT NOW.

Jesus. albeit a far fetched plot I was compelled to see where it lead... It also was very heavy on christianity. Way to heavy actually. I wouldn't recommend this book.

Great read with great truth. Rosenberg is my favorite author and this book continued the tradition of engaging page-turners. Can't wait for what is next!

God's blessing to a wonderful writer. I've read everyone of Joel's books and it is a blessing in the gift God has give him to share with us. Each book that I 've read is so intense, but so spiritual and reminding us that even when aren't going very well, it is God's plan for us in our life. Thanks again Joel for your suburb writing again. God Bless you & your Family Mike Dion

Don't buy. Terrible!!! I thought this would be a thriller; it is far from that and is a wandering text full of Christian dribble and impossible to follow rhetoric with wholly unrealistic, truly fictions characters. It is indeed a work of fiction.

Damascus Countdown. Boring waste of money. Read like a fairy tale. Started flipping pages after 4th chapter waiting for something exciting. Never finished.

Religious crap. The sample was good so I made the purchase. What followed was Christian drivel. Can I have my money back?

My thoughts. What a disappointment! I was expecting a great story like Flynn writes and got this religious drivel instead. This book is not worth buying!

DO NOT BUY. The sample draws you in thinking it's an adventure novel. Actually it's a crude attempt at Christian proselytizing. A waste of twelve dollars. I feel cheated!

*******. Excellent. Had to read as quickly as possible.

The best of the series. If you love thrillers, this series is one of the best you'll ever read. If you are a believer, it's awesome, frightening, eye-opening, and an open window to what it just might be like sometime in the near future. And it's one of the best you'll ever read.

Must read. So illustrative of today's world! Wasn't sure if I was reading fact or fiction but couldn't put it down. Clearly written through a Christian lens yet accepting and loving of all.

Damascus Countdown. Gripping from beginning to end, Damascus Countdown is a must read. Rosenberg has created a masterpiece that combines real world events and fiction to keep the reader engaged. Anticipation at every turn of the page. A fascinating journey!

Sorry joel, you let me down.... I read all his books and thoroughly enjoyed them with one exception, this one. There was nothing but lagging drivel throughout and the ending had nowhere near the apocalyptic finality Joel built in his prior books. I mean, why worry about two Iranian nukes when he had 300 in his control in Pakistan? I mean, how could the imam miss this little fact??? Also, the iman's supernatural, other worldly powers can freeze a man but he can't see through the simple subterfuge? Sorry, this was written by someone else, not Joel, I am sure of it.

Horrible. 3 parts poorly written action with no rhyme or reason. And 7 parts religious indoctrination and ridiculous pretending that Islamist extremists can suddenly "Find Jesus". It doesn't happen in real life.

Wow. Wow! This should be required reading

Demascus countdown. A reasonably good plot is seriously bogged down by the author's non stop, heavy handed prosthelytizing.

Damascus Countdown. I love this series. I am not a big reader however when I start reading these books I just can't seem to put them down. I have read them all and this one is very enjoyable. Read the whole series you won't be sorry.

Damascus Countdown. DO NOT BUY The initial free sample is totally misleading and the book soon falls into a grotesque religious proselytizing, never finished it, I would expect my money back, based of false and deceptive practices. Worse than a Jehova Witness ringing your doorbell Saturday afternoon

Damascus Countdown. First-I am not a Christian, but I knew, based on his previous books, that he was and tended to get a little preachy. But Tehran Initiative was so good-- I had to read!!! But, if you take it for what it is and don't get aggravated by the pushing of the Christian dogma, it's a very exciting and somewhat believable thriller. It's about the possible "end of days" and a reasonable scenario if you take the Bible literally. I wish he had kept that theme on track. I find that interesting. The Middle East is a mess. Why couldn't this be a real scenario? It's fiction, I realize-- but that's the point. It's a compelling story told by the point of view of the author. His characters are Christians and that's part of the story. His characters have visions of Christ. Part of the narrative. I bet lots of folks do or think they do during stressful times. That's how I saw their conversions. But there was too much about Jesus and not enough story line-- for my liking. I would have been more interested in some more detail and followup on the end of days prophecy since the false Messiah was killed. Maybe more about his powers, which wasn't really fleshed out enough for me. I had no idea Islam had a messiah at all, so that was interesting. I wished the focus was on the 12th Imam more and how/ why he was false. His peeps had their own doubts but it was never fully explored. Bummer. That would have been great. Proving to the world he was false. And how that affected the prophecies in the Christian bible. It's still fiction. But if you read the first 2 books, you had to know the Bible stuff was coming. I read it as fiction, with an exciting story. I wished Rosenberg had stuck to tracking events in the story closer to Bible predictions. That would have been a fun ride. He got sidetracked with everyone saving each others souls. Didn't like that the us Pres was portrayed as such a wuss- but that was part of the story. And always a sore spot for me if its in a novel. Preachy- but All in all enjoyable.

Damascus countdown. Love this series! What a great message as well!

Damascus countdown. Riveting a great conclusion to this three part series. Had me reading at the edge if my seat and not wanting to put it down. I found myself entirely engrossed.

Damascus Countdown. This would have been an absolutely great read if it weren't for all the "Jesus died for me" excess. There is no way that devout die hard muslims are going to drop Islam for Jesus. I would never have bought the book if I had had any idea that it was about converting to Christ. I gave it 2 stars for the political content and for being current with world events of today

A page turner!. Stunning realism, each time I picked up my iPad to read Damascus Countdown I felt like I was reading the newspaper. Thankfully I wasn't! Would recommend the entire series.

What a read!. Joel Rosenberg did it again! Exciting from the start, Damascus Showdown made me think, pray, and rethink the promises and prophecies of scripture. And the whole time I was jilted from my world by the cleverly crafted plot and sharp characters in this book. If you haven't read his books, start now. I predict some late nights and some nail biting!

Damascus Count Down. Too bad this good writer preaches throughout; which distracts and is offensive to many of us. This should be in the religious category Take him off your list

Dr. Within the first 100 pages ,decided that this man is a preacher first and author second . I bought the book presuming it was well written thriller and had to stop because of dissapoinment I believe the synopsis of the book should point to the fact that this a christian book first and foremost. Luis rivera

Fraud. To categorize this book as a mystery or thriller is outrageous. It may start that way but as the book progresses so does the born again Jesus babble. At the half way point of the book, it's far more religious proselytizing crap than a thriller. I'll never finish the book but I can only imagine the garbage at the end.

Too much Jesus. Started out as a good story, but then way too much religious stuff. I erased it. Others may like it.
