Loved it.. I read the series when I was a lot younger (Maybe 14). I’m now 21, and wanted to really get into leisure reading. I didn’t quite finish the entire series, but now I’m determined to do so. I started off reading this book first since it gives the backstory to the main plot. At first when I started reading it I wasn’t very in tune with the book, maybe it was because I didn’t feel the romance between Ian and anyone, that is until Margot came along. I pushed myself to continue because I know this series was a great one with my prior knowledge of it. I personally wouldn’t recommend starting with this book, and i understand why it was made last. I would start with the first one because it’s easier to get tangled into the story. Once I got past the first 20 pages or so I didn’t want to put it down!! Read this one in under 24 hours, not that it’s very long, but excited to read the next few books and see if my feeling changed or understanding has changed of the plot.

Interesting. I like this short story. That servant needs therapy lots of it. She ruined a lot of lives.

Best short read ever. Very good. I read the first and second out of order, unaware there was a series. Was a great book. Love the time the detail in the surroundings and the hottie Ian ;)

The McLachlan curse. I loved the series. Felt it was written more for the younger people The only issue I had was the physical relationship between Ian and Riley. That just isn't believable and for me it ruined the story. Emotional okay. Physical took it to far. Great read otherwise.

Ian's story. I loved reading about Ian's life before he died and even a little after he died. A must read if you are a fan of the McKinnon series!!

Great. This a great prequel to the other books. They were all awesome.

Good!. A nice addition to the series to see what happened to Ian before his death. I liked the romance between him and Margot. I knew that the book would end in his death, so I also like wonder if the author should have written from another character's perspective.

Short and sweet. I enjoyed this small insight to ghostly Ian's living state, it was short and sweet definatley makes me want to continue on to read the entire series

The MacKinnon Curse. I accidentally read “The Deepest Cut” before I read this novella, and I think that if I had have read them in the correct order, this story would have been more enjoyable. However, I still found it to be a nice and creepy read, and it sorted out any confusion that The Deepest Cut left me with.

Great series!. I enjoyed the series thoroughly though 'The McKinnon Curse' I feel personally should be read first before the others. Still a great series.
