Great Summer Book. What a great book! It's hard to find a book that makes you laugh while you are reading it and to be able to relate some how with some characters at some point in your life. I'm recommending it to all my friends.

Worst book. This book was contrived, written without substance or character depth. Maybe it’s just a genre that I don’t like.

The Last Original Wife. I think this was on the NYT's best seller list. It is one of the worst books I've ever started to read. It is pure trash and horrible writing. Do not buy!!!

Slightly disappointing. Was a quick and light read but not worth the full price I paid for it!

Storyteller!. The South rules! And Charleston and Sullivan's Island call to me every time I read one of her books. No one weaves a more charming and captivating story than DBF. If only I could get my husband to commit to giving me what I want....a trip to where Les lives!

A little offensive. A warning to any woman in her thirties who happens to be married to a divorcee. Talk about cruel stereotyping. A little more balance and a little less black and white perspective would be nice.

The last original wife. Very predictable, characters are typical stereotypes. Not worth the time or money.

Zero for Three. Well this is the third DBF book I read this summer and all three were equally disappointing. At the beginning of this book I was optimistic, as the story seemed interesting and I thought it would be a good read. Very quickly after I purchased did I realize I was wrong. It devolved into a trite and predictable, almost farcical commentary on a failed marriage. I can’t say more without additional spoilers bet suffice it to say that, in my opinion, Mrs. Frank phoned this one in. I have read all of her books and I fear this will be the last.

Wonderful experience from start to finish. So many great characters to root for.. A truly remarkable story about the complexities of life, relationships, moving forward in a positive way. A wise, honest, funny, heart-filled romp. I had trouble putting it down.

Wonderful!. So refreshing to read a book from the point of view of a mature woman! Funny, insightful, and touching, this one had me from the first chapter. I love good Southern fiction and without a doubt, I'll be rereading this one.

The last original wife. This is really a good book! It is smart, sassy and dead on! Viagra & Cialis have added fuel to the aging male's delusion that as long as they can be erect they can have young women and that they never have to face issues of age or life itself; however life itself has a sneaky way of playing "gotcha". Women aren't immune to these illusions either when they go after teens and 20 something males. Amazingly they are so caught up in the eroticism of the moment that they refuse to see how ridiculously hilarious they appear. It took 30 years for Les to wake up and mobilize herself but she did with her dignity intact. This book and the Viagra Diaries are sad commentaries of our contemporary life of our baby boomer generation which deludes themselves that they will never get old because they have Botox, Viagra, progesterone cream, penile pumps, breast implants, liposuction, hair transplants, face lifts etc. -what an illusion!

The Last Original Wife. Another fabulous low country story. I so enjoyed all the details of my Charleston and it brought back so many great memories of growing up there. Wonderful characters and story line. Simply couldn't put it down. A must read! Thanks you for another wonderful novel.

Stale Bread!. I'm disappointed as I had read so many great reviews about this author's other books. This was my first and next time I won't buy her book and instead will go to the library. No imagination in this book whatsoever. And it was not inspiring as I had hoped. Instead, very predictable. He said, she said and a plot that is so overdone. I really wish I could get my money back.

Ok. It was just ok. I was hoping for something more. The "sample" started off like it was going to go somewhere. Then it didn't. The whole book could be summed up in three chapters...or maybe less.

The Last Original Wife. I am from South Carolina, and you always make me proud of that! I loved this book, it was entertaining and right on the money. Do not ever stop writing.

Another winner. I enjoy her books so much. This one, and those of this era, are particularly good. The ending came too soon. Great diversion in between heavier reads.

The Last Original Wife. Easy read but predictable from beginning to end. The reality of the story is that this happens to men and women all the time in marriages these days. The fantasy of the story is the one who is responsible for the deterioration of the relationship realizes it a little too late but there's a happy ending for everyone anyway. Real fiction because how often does that actually happen in real life? Not one of those books you just can't put down.

The Lat Original Wife. Loved this one! Of course, I've loved all of Dorthea's books and can't wait to read more! Our son is a Firefighter in Charleston and he's taken us to several of the places in her books. Just went to Poe's yesterday! We live in Upstate New York, but try to go to Summerville (20 minutes from Charleston) to visit him often, especially when our Winter weather chases us away to the area! Thank you for such good reading!

Fantastic!. This book kept you on your toes wanting to read more and more without putting your book down. Being in my 20's it really made me think about the lives of women whom are suppose to be enjoying the best times of their lives with their "one and only" after their kids are grown and retirement is in near future. I enjoyed reading the perspective of the the main female character, Les.

Good Read. This book was so good, I was afraid to share it with friends. I didn’t want to be responsible for any wife walking away from her jerk.

The Original Wife. Just finished this delicious book! I'd never read this author before but headed back to buy another of her books! A great summer read!
